Brothers, all is going well except for a sqeaky sounds which stop when clutch is depressed. So likely not the suspension. Also, i am unhappy with the wet grip. Got water tankers pissing all over my road. Bike shots when i hit the rear brakes. It seems abs does not kick in fast enough. Thinking of changing rear tyre. Auld i buy metzeller sportec m5? Any dealer in Pune you know, please share.

Does the bike tend to skid every time you apply the rear brakes and the wheels get locked? Or only on wet surfaces? Before you get the tires changed so get the ABS checked...Originally posted by deepDmnr View PostBrothers, all is going well except for a sqeaky sounds which stop when clutch is depressed. Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Aba has kicked in for dry conditions. I have had the bike fish tail a bit on hard brake just in a speed breaker. So abs seems to be working. But i have noticed breaking with wet, it's worse. The skid stopped just as I hit dry patch. It was sub second skid so just looking for alternatives.Originally posted by Chetak.Jr View PostDoes the bike tend to skid every time you apply the rear brakes and the wheels get locked? Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Planning to buy D400 next week. What are the main things to check before delivery of the bike? This will be the first High capacity bike so please help. Upgrading from Honda Hornet.
And i also want to know how is the grip of the tyres in corners in dry and wet condition?? 80% of my rides is only in curvy roads.

Finally, fitted myself
Its like, the angles will be ON always,
and the main lamp in the foglight will be ON when the head lamp switch in the right side is in ON position, no matter engine is running or not.
Connected it directly to the head lamp wires.
No fuse/relay used, actually, I burned the stock head lamp fuse.
I think the stock wires and fuse are good enough for both the stock and new lamps as its just ~70 watts.
@benz, what do you think about it?
* Lessons learned,
1. Do not work with battery connected, Always disconnect the -ve terminal.
2. Do not drop the fuse inside near the battery, while removing it from the holder. if you are planning to use it, such Places are hard to reach with bare hands.
If we are changing the fuse while in road, remember this point.Last edited by abhisheklalnediya; 04-07-2017, 10:50 AM.

Connected directly to battery with fuse?Originally posted by drvmtm View PostI ware specks. My eyesight is slightly altered with minus zero point seven five. Led s are great and really good with conjunction with Headlight but it's for near range as good as the high beam. The auxiliary is hid h3 for long range view at least double the range of the high beam. Purpose are different. Hope it clears your query.
PS. I love bright light s in my vehicles and I know when to use them. With great power comes great responsibility.sigpic

It will be good if you have a relay and fuse in place. The reason being the external light is drawing 5.8Amp which the headlight switch can handle as of now. Over the time due to carbon formation on the switch contact it may not connect properly and heat or or get damage.
I suggest you connect a relay to the headlamp wiring and then connect the external light to the battery with a fuse via the relay.
The stock headlight is 21W (high beam) which translate to 2Amp and the switch must have designed roughly for 4 to 5 Amp max.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Thats really helpful sir.. thank you.Originally posted by drvmtm View PostI am 6 feet with 130 kg chasis a tall and fat guy. I am absolutely happy about the effort less engine and dynamics. It's big and good. I am finding high speed stability and comfort levels with 80 plus kg pillion and fully loaded bike with bags and accessories are quite OK for the price u pay here but still one if and one but stays. May be spoiled with Honda Cbr 250 [emoji17].....
If we change the gears a bit late the vibration s are well in check. Found out that the foot pegs are not up to the mark and rubber content is less and metal content is more. May be peg from karizma or Cbr 250 will bring more comfort levels and less vibes.
Handle bar vibes or buzz can be reduced to great extent by applying a second linkage so it may dampen the wide handlebar.
The front fairing and light surface have to open those and apply double tape, rubber insert to reduce buzz.
But it's absolutely a steal for the money we pay. It's very cheap to maintain also

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
It's totally normal for the rear to lose traction for half a second before ABS kicks in. Happens with my Duke 390 too. Don't worry about it.Originally posted by deepDmnr View PostAba has kicked in for dry conditions. I have had the bike fish tail a bit on hard brake just in a speed breaker.
