  • Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread

Any D400 owner in Pune can confirm the time it took to get the bike registered (MH12 passing)? It's been 20 days and the sales guy is telling me that I'll get the message directly.
Now am wondering if this has something to do with BS4.

Planning to buy D400 next week. What are the main things to check before delivery of the bike? This will be the first High capacity bike so please help. Upgrading from Honda Hornet.
And i also want to know how is the grip of the tyres in corners in dry and wet condition?? 80% of my rides is only in curvy roads.

Hornet looks like a really good bike. I have responded to a similar question below. Take a dominar owner with you. Out of curiosity, why Dominar.

Hornet is not suitable for High speed highway riding. I have completed 18000 kms in 11 months. I need some more power. Duke 390 is out of my budget. Fz25 does not look like a big bike. Almost same as Hornet size wise. So only One option left Dominar

Nice , you know what you want. It's good bang for the buck. Go for ABS only. It's awesome on dry roads. Judge wet grip yourself.

Thank you. I want to know are you satisfied with Dominar? I never wanted to own a bajaj bike because many owners complain about the service centers. But at last I have decided to go for Dominar for VFM

The SCs know this is a premium product and the Dominar branding is important to Bajaj. This is high cc aspirations from both Bajaj as well as you. A decade back everyone wanted high mileage 80 kmpl bikes. Now it's high displacement. As with everything there are pros and cons. The engine is not as refined as I would have liked but it delivers power, that it does well. With 373 cc and single cylinder , expect vibrations. The power to weight ratio of Yamaha FZ25 is far better than Dominar. The highway rides and hard braking is great on the dominar. Before you buy ride for a few hours. Put this condition in the dealership. 2 hours test ride or no deal.
At the end of the day, there is plenty left over power for most riders and Indian road / traffic conditions. Which is exactly how i like it. The rest is just noise. HTH.

Try SMK Helmets or MT. I am going to get one from SMK. Also there's a parallel thread on xBhp dedicated to helmets. You would want to have a look at it.
