Got Dominar 400 Moon whight ABS yesterday. Has anybody installed the women foot-rest? Please help. Showroom guys said that it cannot be installed in Dominar. And they also said that aftermarket Seatcover cannot fit in Dominar seat. Is it true?

Yes, there are no place to hold the footrest for ladies. Maybe you have to make one with available bolt places to hold it.

You can put seat cover on top of the existing seat cover

Thanks. Is it possible to install center stand in the bike? Its very difficult to do the chain maintenance.

Not possible as there is first section of the silencer below. You can buy a paddock stand or for doing chain maintenance.

Use your car scissor jack to lift the rear wheel to clean the chain . No need to buy paddock stand only for chain maintenance.
Watch my video below u can pacle it any convenient place u want just use some rubber band to engage the front break. so that it wont move forward.

hi , i am new here, getting my dominar 400 abs (moon white) on 22nd of this month, i am from navi mumbai and getting it from raigad bajaj panvel.

i had few queries , after a lot of research from youtube and xbhp on the dominar i came to know that if ECU is update to the latest version the RPM gets reduced to 8500 whereas the max rpm with out ecu update is 9500 is it correct ?

is it ok if i dont update the ECU?

also does a newly owned bike has warranty ? if yes which parts are claimed under it and is there any limit for the warranty to get expired like before 80km ?

one more to add i have seen a video, in which a guy has installed OBD adaptor to the KTM Duke 200, will it be possible for us to do the same ? the link is over here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4z3dutlnAk0&index=2&list=LLPhHE7toMorPNcB8 WtFk9DA)

How much it will cost if I buy from market? But one thing I have noticed that if the whole weight of the bike is given on the side stand it bends.

In the market the scissor jack would cost around 500 to 1000 bucks . And we are only lifting the rear very little , also the front is on the ground so there wont be much weight on the side stand so it would be safe. Brother owners are doing such thing for super bikes too.
And if u want paddock stand , it would cost around 3.5k upwards.

Your new bike will come with ECU updated. Also, there is no way you can stop the service center from updating the ECU. Even if you say Don't update, they will update it.

Warranty details are there in the manual. All wear and tear parts do not have warranty. Nothing like first few KM for different parts.

Yes, you can install the ODB adapter for Dominar like KTM. I have installed one on my Dominar.

Thanks brother for your advice. I will get a scissor jack from market. And what about the leg guard. Is it sufficient which comes with the bike

Talking about ecu mine hasn't got the ecu update, the service centre guy says bajaj sents them the chasis no and from that they know which bike to update and my bike is not in that list.
Are all bikes getting the ecu update ? mine is from the second lot.

The leg guard looks ok type ,but any thing else would increase the weight so i am staying with this one.

Yes lot 2 bikes are also getting update , they would match the chassis number with their record to see if it needs update or not. Most update are done at 1st service.

                              Hi Jayanta,

My thoughts on the leg guard is that it isnt a leg guard at all, in fact it is actually an "engine guard". The Bajaj guys (showroom staff) themselves refer to it as such. Its the same as was in the NS. Not certain about the thickness of the rods though, they may be marginally more but I doubt it.

I can say this with quite a bit of confidence that during an accident they will to an extent save the bike from falling on your leg, however their primary purpose is to shield the engine in case of a fall, and I can testify that in that regard they work very well. You can see that in terms of length, they are smaller than conventional leg guards, in fact i think they barely extend beyond the width of the handlebar. If you truly feel the need, do upgrade to a bigger set in the after market. Though it messes with the looks of the bike, it will protect your legs far better than the current ones.

Just had the test ride of dominar 400 and man the torque the power the response it is mind blowing.. bike touches 100kmph like its nothing, no vibrations were faced during that short ride may be because it was a test bike so the engine may have smoothened out and my weight 97kgs was not an issue and really good handling, linear power delivery and man the accelaration is soo much that in a blink it goes from 0-60.. loved that the sound is bassy reminds you that you are not riding a regular small cc bike, looking forward to own it.
