In some bikes filling the petrol till the brim and then when the bike leans, there is chance of fuel coming out.

I went to the service center with this query and the service manager told me that you should not fill more than 10 litres of fuel in the tank.
In the manual, it says clearly, for calculating economy, you need to fill fuel to the brim of the inner hole. And this is exactly what i did.
While delivery, the same Service Manager, pointed out to the mechanism provided, if there is excess fuel, there is a hole where the petrol will seep back in the tank and not overflow.
I am confused and concerned now. I have written Bajaj customer care seeking an explanation.

      Anybody else facing similar issues?

PS: This is not true for all owners. This issue is noticed by very few owners. Not sure, if this is a defect in the first batch.
My friend's R15 also had this problem. They said the breather pipe got blocked which created a vacuum, hence the fuel wasn't seeping through the pipe as expected. I'd get that checked.

I hope the issue is as simple as this. Will get it checked during service. So it is called a "breather pipe"

You are rightbi think i need a medium size helmet my current helmet size is large . It was doing fine on my previous bike avenger220. I will be buying a smaller size helmet in future, overall fit of my current is very snug but i would be trying one size smaller.

Check out this video on how to select a helmet. Most of the riders in India just go for looks or cost and ignore the fact that size and fit is most important while buying a helmet.

Do you know what the single most important piece of safety equipment is? Of course every piece of gear that you wear is important but if you answered ‘helmet...

No, there are two pipes, overflow pipe and breather pipe.

EDIT: I'm not entirely sure, those who know, correct me if I'm wrong.

Hey.. On my recent trip to pondy. I fueled the bike to the brim twice and no issue of this sort occured.
But, the same thing has happened to me a year back when i had taken a rental bike, Honda Dream Neo, I filled to the brim and left the bunk. In the next signal the petrol started overflowing.
I stopped at the next bunk and asked them to help me with it. They temporarily did something with the overflow pipe. They said there was too much blockage in the pipe.

From SA the ECU remapping is done to remove 8.5 rpm limit and also to address lugging issue in slow speed.
                  Removing 8.5 k rpm limit?
So the limit has been increased?
What is the new rpm limit sir?
Did you observe any gain or loss in average?

Yes it is true that pdi is done by the bajaj guys but that is from their side , you should always do a pdi check before accepting the bike , like for any scratches, dents, wear and tear of tyres, which can be a sign of a test ridden bike

My bike had the same issue when i filled up the tank extremely to the top.
Repeated the same mistake again at the second "fill full tank"

Lesson learnt - dont fill it to top of the tank but to the brim of inner hole which is one n half inch below the tank hole entrance.

That's exactly how much I filled. Until inner hole only. Some of the owners even had leakage issues after filling only 80% of tank.

too bad... Have you had your 1st servicing done? If not then rush to nearest BAL and get it checked.

Check with bajaj bike owners who know a good place where they understand the customer need(I have heard that most of the Bajaj service mechanics dont pay attention to customer's complaint).

Good luck bro, it must be frustrating.

I had my own issue while halting bike from 1st gear shift up to NEUTRAL - display would show "N" but the bike would jerk forward. Post 1st service, 100 Kms done I have not had that issue but takes a bit to find "Neutral" gear.

I'm lucky in that part, always filled full but no issues.
