Hey that's a good response time to the initial issue and seeing that they've solved it to your full satisfaction adds more confidence in Bajaj.Originally posted by ~wolverine~ View PostDOMINAR ECU MAJOR UPDATE:
One of my friend went to checkup camp at bajaj showroom Swadeshi Bajaj New Delhi, for free bike check up.
Below are words from him:
.........................
ODO reading 2700 KMS
Got a call from Swadeshi yesterday that their is an inspection camp for Dominar & that there will be a team from Pune present
As I was having the jerking issue below 5000 RPM decided to head in today before office
Informed the Dominar technician of the jerking issue & he responded he knew of it & without even taking out the bike pulled out the OBD & connected it to BOSCH reader for an ECU update
5 mins later.. I've a bike that's TRANSFORMED completely.. know that sounds exaggeration.. but the vibes & general roughness from the engine has disappeared completely... Dare I call it.. as smooth as a HONDA... the pull is as linear as before but only much smoother... Rode 200 KMS today apart from my daily office commute to further ascertain that things have infact changed dramatically
Much recommended
Thank you Bajaj for such a prompt action

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hello friends. Its been a week i purchased my white beauty, here is my 1st impression
[IMG]
its a beauty and attracts many by its looks, always on LEDs grabbing so many attention and people making wired hand signals [emoji35] [emoji23] [/IMG]
I clocked around 280km, 80% of drive is in city. I wish 3rd and 4th gears at shorter side, I believe the gear tuning is much towards cruising so I'm facing chain and engine knocks whenever RPM falls down. Bike is only happier to pull from 1st gear. This made me very frustrated in city rides. My car pulls like a gem. Im bit disappointed[/IMG]

overall happy for the purchase and disappointed by its characteristics at lower RPM.

Hi Nakul, it cost me 1.79 lac invoice plus 1k rto fee. I removed the stock mirrors because I don't like them. I'll be getting bar end mirrors later.Originally posted by Nakul Sharma View PostBro buying 1.7 lac bike and not using rear view mirror , I suggest you to install rear view mirrors on your bike from your dealership

Yes , thank you. Whatever it is bike looks awesome without those stock mirrors. I'm thinking circular bar end mirrors let's see how it goes. So far I didn't remove the bar ends and see how the setup is . based on this I'll get a mirrors.Originally posted by Nakul Sharma View PostSorry for judging you , 👍👍 Do post pictures of the bar end mirrors

How was the experience in the RTO office? Did you get it registered through an agent in RTO? Can you throw some light on the registration process?Originally posted by Unforgiv3n biker View PostHey, I'm from Salem and took the bike from Coimbatore. Ask them to get you a temporary registration certificate (TCR). For me, they got one valid for one month, and I'm done with the permanent registration now. I paid 1250 for temporary registration and job is easily done.
Now, my bike is registered.!
Try asking them regarding this.
Else, go with others advice

Can I know from which showroom you got your D400? and also what was your ODO reading at PDI?

Hi Kiran, I bought my bike from Anant Bajaj, Magadi road, Bangalore. It was 7 km on odo. Around 4 bikes(white) had 7kms on odo while I was checking to choose my bike. There are few bikes (purple color) which had 0.5 kms on odo. [emoji57]Originally posted by Kirankj1724 View PostHi MT99,

Congrats on the bike! The bike is 400cc one, hence in the city you possibly can't pull it up to the last gear and ride. Regarding the knocking at lower rpm's, I faced the same in my bike (I don't have a D400). I generally tend to shift to higher gear early (for example - I shift at 45kmph which is the the lowest speed without knocking for my 5th) but then the moment I don't accelerate and let the needle fall a bit down. I hear knocking and have to shift down. And I hate shifting gears, often.
So instead of 45, now I push it till 50-55 (my 4th gear can tolerate it easily) and change to 5th in order to avoid knocking.
The front of the bike looks brilliant, super attractive. But I wasn't satisfied with the back part. When I saw it in real (someone else was riding it with a small laptop back, probably going back home from office), there was hardly any room for pillion. For some reason, I feel the pillion seat/back part has been abruptly made short. (Totally personal view). I am sure riding it is an awesome feeling.
Take it out for a spin, I am sure you will like it. Safe riding!
To other owners of this beautiful machine, Do you guys experience backfiring or completely nothing at all?Udne de in Parindo ko Aazad Fiza Mei... Jo Tere Apne Honge Wo Laut Aayenge Kisi Roz...
