Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
As you said recalling first batch it also has issues with speedo console. If we try to reset the service indicator icon the whole speedo console becomes useless(Goes blank/cant use the features of primary display). So the SVC are replacing the meter console under warranty. Mine is 3rd bike in Mangalore which faced this issue! Any other first lot of 2019 Dominar owner faced this issue?Originally posted by Greymatter View Post

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I tried once and it did feel going to the right slightly. But I'm not sure if it was due to balancing issue or the road surface. Will check once more on highway and let you know.Originally posted by Abhii97 View Post@kdevdutta
Do you have the issue of the bike pulling towards the right when you leave the handle bar?
Mine was showing service indication since I crossed 450kms. Did 1st service yesterday and service center has reset the service indicator. Doesn't seem that they have replaced the console. So this seems to be an issue with few pieces maybe.Originally posted by Gnayak View PostAs you said recalling first batch it also has issues with speedo console. Expensive is ok but it will upset the balance of bike?Originally posted by Throttlefreak View PostA lockable side pannier may be difficult to find as they are pretty expensive. Also using a single sided pannier might upset the balance of the bike. You can fit a top box which is available from studds along with a rack. A top box can also swallow up a helmet. One xbhpian has done it and you can find the details on page 280 of this forum.
That's new. How can it? I have been using pannier on my P220 since time immemorial and it has stood like a rock everytime I asked it to. Not interested in having a top-box and that's more attention catcher and inviting instead of a simple side pannier.

A fellow member has translated the Spanish version of the 2017/18 D400 service manual. It is not perfect but will suffice.
Download it from this link. [emoji116]

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Well, I have ridden 200 KM till now, due to ongoing Loksabha election process here, the documentation might take some time. Bad time and bad luck I guess.
However, regarding vibrations, people are saying this machine vibrates a lot less than the previous model. I, on the other hand, can't comprehend how did the owners of previous version managed the vehicle, given that the 2019 model itself vibrates so much (I also own a FZ Fi V3.0, and that machine is what smoothness feels like, Japs do know it better in terms of refinement). I am hoping the machine will get smooth after the initial Run-In Period.
Regarding the User manual, haven't all the owners received it? I was given the manual with the bike itself.
Is there any Dominar club of some sorts, where Dominar owners can meet and have some rides together? Probably a whatsapp group of Dominar riders?

Take good care of the drive chain (Proper slack/Lube) , finish the running in period and switch to motul 7100 10w50 Fully Synth. Use good quality petrol preferably Power or Speed. The bike will become smoother with use. KTM's were never about refinement and netiher is the 400 as it is based on the KTM. Also its difficult to remove the vibes out from a big piston going up and down compared to a 150, case in point the fz 250!Originally posted by dip_avvy View PostWell, I have ridden 200 KM till now, due to ongoing Loksabha election process here, the documentation might take some time. Thanks a ton!!! Finally torque specs and svc limits etc! No more guesswork! Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

This is the official repair manual provided to the service centre, although i highly doubt they even follow it. What you are referring to is the user manual. The repair or the svc manual has in depth technical know how of the bike and necessary troubleshoot etc. Useful for ppl who work on their bikes!Originally posted by Greymatter View PostBut PDF Manual of Dominar is already available on Bajaj official site for download? Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Congrats for you new bike! Could you share more info on how u reduced the seat height? Did you just replace the seat?Originally posted by kdevdatta View Post
Since I'm little bit on the shorter side and bike being pretty heavy, I did some seat mods to reduce the seat height a little bit. Stock amount of foam on the seat is quite less so you can't cut much. Now I can flat foot on one side. Also got the monoshock adjusted to be on softer side.
Will keep posting more observations.

Thanks a lot bro.Originally posted by rvibin View PostCongrats for you new bike! Could you share more info on how u reduced the seat height? Did you just replace the seat?
I have cut the foam by around 1cm near the tank. Also I have decreased the width a bit by cutting the foam on the sides. Basically make it narrower. Height wise we can't cut much since there is already quite less foam on the seat. I noticed this coz my Apache has only 10-20mm less seat height than dominar but its seat is narrower than Dominar's. Hence we feel that dominar has more height even tho the difference is just 10-20mm.
I don't have side profile right now. Will share it shortly.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I have always been the guy that thinks that nothing in the world is perfect and when it comes to bikes they do come with their fair share of niggles but the water is now above the head. You would always find me praising the dominar no matter what because she has impressed in almost all ways possible. Apart from the coolant drop(no it's not mixing with the engine oil nor its leaking i seriously am amused as where is it going) and a broken oil seal I've never faced any issue. As I soon near the 2nd birthday of my bike this is what I receive as a gift. The area near the tank pad(which of being low quality wore off after some time) has started developing a unique pattern in the paint. Definitely air has creeped inside and now the paint would start to chip off. Before you start blasting me with all the maintenance related concerns let me satisfy you.
The bike has only been ridden for approximately 9k kilometres in 2 years.
No tank pad of any other kind has been used so that it's glue would cause such mishap.
The bike is always parked in shade.
The bike is washed once in a week or two.
Now the dilemma is what should I do, I will be taking my concern tomorrow to the service centre to see there reply but I already know that they wouldn't give a shot about what is going on.
My request is any of the member has ever faced such a situation and how to handle with this right now.

Welcome to the family Nick! For the time, put the key in the ignition level. Click on M (which will take you to Trip 1 screen), then click on M&S together till the clock starts to blink. Then click on M and S to change the hour and second, and then M&S once again to save the time.Originally posted by Nick36 View PostHello Xbhpians,

My 2019 vine Black dominar was delivered to me yesterday and I've clocked about 60 kms on it. Absolutely loving the bike, but there are a few things I want to point out.
1. As mentioned by other owners, the bike does sway towards the right when I let go of the handle. Have to check this during first service.
2. The rear brake is not that great, maybe I'll have to wait for the brake pads and tyres to run in, not that big of an issue considering that the front brakes do get the job done.
3. I haven't been given the user manual from the dealer. He said they haven't received it either and will take a week. Unable to figure out how to set the time, would appreciate it if someone here can help me with that. Has anyone received the manual?
Apart from these niggles,it's a phenomenal machine.
I'm from Bangalore(Koramangala), and have faced terrible service experience from Bajaj in the past. Could someone suggest a good Service centre in Bangalore?
I'll post a detailed review on the pros of the bike after I complete a few hundred kilometres on the saddle.
Here are a few pics..

Regarding service, try Khivraj Kasturba Road. They seem to be the best. Domlur service is also pathetic. Khivraj Marathalli is good but you need to know what needs to be done exactly and they'll get it done.Wind in my hair.... and I'm semi bald...
