Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Do you have any specific relay that would help, like any specs to look for..?Originally posted by DJD View PostPlease see the diagram below:
The pin number 85 can be connected to any +ve terminal which gets charged as soon as ignition is on.
There is a risk of overloading the existing ignition wiring.
Will this work?
Also you mentioned +ve from any part connected to ignition should work.. The Red connector from the seat under pillion? that too?
Ordered this... So I got work to do this Sunday...Last edited by ginzon; 12-14-2018, 12:28 PM.

Ideally speaking the fuse should be near the positive terminal of the battery. I mean connect one side of the fuse to the positive terminal of the battery and the other side of the fuse can be connected to the relay by using a wire. Since your charger comes with a inbuilt fuse, another fuse may not be required. However, this inbuilt fuse will not protect the relay and the wire from battery positive terminal to the relay pin no. 30. If you ask me, I will put a fuse near the battery +ve terminal. It may be a overkill, but in case of electrical accessories I don’t want to take any risk.Originally posted by TheQuarterMile View PostThank you for taking the effort to sketch out the circuit. Really helpful. The charger already comes with a fuse holder built into wiring. Should I still add another fuse?
This same relay i am using for my auxiliary light set up. This relay is of good quality. So far i have not faced any issue.Originally posted by ginzon View PostDo you have any specific relay that would help, like any specs to look for..?

Yes it can be connected. But before connecting you must check the +ve terminal of the red connector with a multi meter. In ignition off condition it should show 0 volt and in ignition on condition it should show 12 - 13 volt.Originally posted by ginzon View PostAlso you mentioned +ve from any part connected to ignition should work.. I do not have a multi-meter.. I had connected Hercules - Bajaj Dominar Hazard Adapter there without checking that, can I do the same now? Is it safe to assume that since it's connected to ignition it would be 12V? (Our battery specs says 12V)Originally posted by DJD View PostYes it can be connected. Also, what about the wire diameter? can they be the thin ones? The mobile holder has thick copper wires... Do not want something to go off due to heating up..Last edited by ginzon; 12-14-2018, 03:06 PM.

I have fitted both the grips. One needs to open up the right switchgear to remove the accelerator grip. The stock left grip needs to be cut up along the length and cannot be reused.
Accelerator action is quite smooth on these grips. Also had a ride of around 100kms. No black residue on my hands. Anyone who wants to do this mod, remember to spray some lube inside the accelerator cable tube to make the action even more slick.

yes it will be 12V only. I think you can connect in the same port. However, after connecting do check that in ignition off condition the charger should not work.Originally posted by ginzon View PostI do not have a multi-meter.. In my dominar i used 16 AWG wire for the auxiliary lights. You please check the current rating of the charger and accordingly choose the wire size (choose a automotive grade wire).Originally posted by ginzon View PostAlso, what about the wire diameter? can they be the thin ones? Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I am really disappointed now, as I see the fuel drop again at low fuel in my bike tank.... I am afraid a new bike one-month-old have to be sent for a diagnose... don't know if this will affect the overall factory fitting of the bike.... I used to own a pulsar 220 without a full fairing a standard headlight 220 pulsar... it had starting issues and the Bajaj service center in Vizag couldn't rectify it .. I have to let go that bike because of poor service and frequent visits to the service center or I used to call them to pick my bike from my location...now with dominar it still haunts me.. OH god, not me again.Originally posted by Ijs View PostDon't worry it will trun out to be nothing.

1. Are you observing any fuel leaks?
2. When you re-fuel, how much do you fill your fuel usually?
3. Do you always keep your tank to near empty <= to the reserve mark?
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

1. I observe fuel drops when every I go over a hump or speed breaker, in ideal condition I don't see any oil leaks.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostBe more specific.

2. I have filled my bike twice. first time when I bought my bike on Nov 03 full tank and next time when I saw a dip in fuel I filled for 500/- ...now as I am experimenting with my brand new bike as instructed by the service center, not to fill full tank ..I still see those oil or fuel drops when I go over a hump.. few suggest it only chain lube not to worry a lot..hope its true..
3. Near empty was never been the case as I have filled fuel only twice..

Wipe the chain ? Like just normal wiping with wet cloth ,? Or wiping with cloth which was dipped in diesel ?Originally posted by Ijs View PostSorry for long time absence guy, been busy with something called life.It is manufacturing defect and is covered under warranty get the claim done visit the mrf main office. Here in delhi many users have already claimed both front and rear tyre for this. They will charge you some amount for the usage or remaining rubber.
Sidewall cracking is very common with mrf.Exactly where is the stain coming from can u pin point, if it is on top of chain gaurd just below the rider seat than do not worry as there is one small pipe coming from the evap unit which lets out the exess vapours sometimes the pipe is visible below the seat coming from under the body panle on the lhs.No it isn't , too frequent Cleaning on other hand can be damaging for o rings, always wipe the chain before lubing it and if it is too dirty or muddy than clean it.
I usually clean after 2000kms or when my eyes and hands says it needs it.How can i help.

By this i mean a clean dry lint free cloth , not one dipped in diesel.Originally posted by NirmalDushman View PostWipe the chain ? Like just normal wiping with wet cloth ,? REAR BRAKE ISSUE
As I posted earlier that the rear brake has no bite at all.
Yesterday I decided to test the rear brake.
From college to home (16 km) I used only rear brake. For soft stopping and for hard stopping.
These are the issues I experienced.
1. Very very less bite
2. Whenever I'll press the brake lever hardly, the lever will tap my feet back.
3. Sometimes lever will push my feet back up this releasing the brake fully
4. In dusty patch abs gave up. Tyre slipped for about 2-3 seconds then I released the brake.
5. And now rear brake is making screeching sound whenever I'll use it.

1 clean the rotor and break pads, and make sure there is no air in the break line u need to bleed the caliper for this.Originally posted by NirmalDushman View PostREAR BRAKE ISSUE

2 This is how abs works the push back is part of abs pulsations , abs release the pressure to prevent the wheel lock.
3 same as 2.
4 yes it is normal wheel can lock for fraction in the rear as the abs is more easily engaged in the rear and it works like this.
5 u need break cleanup , pads and rotor.
More importantly try to lear diffrent way to break use front more and rear less. Rear at very low speed. Use 70:30 front rear.
All the inertia is at the front and and front break is more powerful , bigger rotor + twin piston caliper where as rear is smaller rotor+singel piston caliper.
Get the break pads, rotor cleaned up break paddle bolt check and tighten and cleaned.
And if needed break bleed at rear.
After this test the breaks and compare with different bike if still not satisfied or if it is not working than possible that rear master cylinder is weak.
