I like the seating position and comfort of Dominar but am not sure how practical it is to use purely for commuting in city. Comfort is my top priority. Low maintenance and ABS are next items in my wishlist. Please share your suggestions.
Yes, don't buy dominar for city rides. It will tire you up, heats up in city specially in summers and yields a low mileage of about 24-28 in city. Buy fazer instead.

There is no problem in city ride except average. I own apache 180,pulsar 220 and dominar and find dominar the most comfortable in city. I am 5 feet and 11 inches tall and weighs 90 kg so it may be the reason for feeling it comfortable

Don't think too much buddy. I have seen many Dominars in B2B peak hours traffic in Mumbai.
It should not a big problem if so many are using for daily commute.

Regarding the maintenance part, I think Fazer and CBR will be slightly less expensive to maintain. This is just my understanding.

Guys little concern about speedo in my dominar. When i check speedo via gps phone mount it runs slower than the bike's odo. Let's say when j ride in 100 km it shows 94 in gps meter. Should i feel concern about this or every one experiencing the same??

Need not worry. 5-8% speedo error is present in all kinds of bikes. Dominar is no exception.

That's normal. No need to worry.

The revs on my bike are not stable and the idle rpm is around 2krpm is this normal or is the idle rpm too high?

Actual idle rpm is 1700 but due to 500rpm slab it stays at 1500 i all Dominar, a little more then 1700 say if it is 1750 then it would show 2000.
In my bike it is stable at 1500 from day one.
Do compare with different bike and if it feels higher the do get it checked.

                  • Bajaj Dominar 400 ABS rear disk plate replacement.

I recently bought a Dominar 400 ABS 2nd hand and took it to Bajaj workshop at Kirti Nagar, New Delhi for a check up. I was told that the rear disk plate and break pads needed replacement as they were damaged. I agreed and got it replaced.

I did not pay much attention to the disk plate when I received the bike but 2 days later I realised that the new disk plate was not entirely round and to my surprise it resembled the 'petal disk' plates found on the Pulsar 200 RS or 200 NS. Thereafter, I complained about the same but was reassured by the supervisor there that the new spare disk plates of Dominar for replacement purposes are Petal disks and not the original round ones. He also mentioned that he had confirmed this from the spare department there.

I am still not convinced and I have written to Bajaj Auto complaining about the same.

I met with a minor accident last week where two guys drunk, came across out of nowhere. I had no time to break or react and hence hit their bike perpendicularly. My bike fell on the right side, got the radiator guard and handlebar bent. SVC replaced the handlebar and the radiator guard. But the bike seems to be slightly out of alignment to me. I feel like I am stretching my left hand more than my right hand to keep the bike running straight. I took a picture sitting on the bike and found this.

The center joint seems to slightly set left and it doesn't seem to be symmetrical with the rest of the bike. Can someone please confirm if this is the case with all dominars or just mine due to the fall.
Any other idea why the bike seems to be out of alignment? It really worries me.

Have to confirm this , but if the size is 230mm the it would work fine ,in fact better then the previous one as petal disk rotor has better heat dissipation properties.
And kirti nagar is a good service center.
Will update you if i get some information on the same.
Do confirm the size. Front is 320mm and rear is 230mm.

                        Update.
Just confirmed the disk does looks from rs200 but it will work better as rhe dia is same 230mm and petal has better heat dissipation.

Hi! Yes, I understand petal disk rotors have better heat dissipation properties but I was surprised to see the original round ones to be replaced by this.

Yes, the size is 230mm. In fact
Pulsar 200 NS and 200 RS share the same size as well but have petal disk rotors instead of the round ones which kinda made me think something's wrong.

Thanks for a prompt reply, mate! Please do confirm if what the supervisor said was correct.
                            Cheers!
