I have got 3 services done till now and not even once they opened the exhaust ot any part of it. And i have got fresh oil at all 3 services. To drain the oil fully u need to open the drain bolt near the gear lever, the oil filter on the right hand side, and 3rd the magnetic filter which is on the bottom center for which the rear cowl needs to be removed.
And u need new oil filter , and cleaning of magnetic filter and also there is a plastic filter/strainer inside the drain bolt which needs to be cleaned up.
Posting 2 pics for reference one of the drain bolt other of the magnetic filter.

This https://youtu.be/S1ZhJ8ZyMvU should help. Have visited Bajaj service but never saw them removing the exhaust for oil change. Correct me if I am missing something.

Similar experience here. Have seen them removing the drain bolt, oil filter & strainer (from inside the drain hole).

They should have removed and clean the bottom wala filter, some service centers don't do it. It should be done with oil change.
And i think i have commented about the same on the video link u have shared.

          Update:

Sorry for this late an update. I had written an email to Bajaj complaining about the petal rear disk rotor that the service centre guys had installed and I got a call from Kirti Nagar Service Centre, New Delhi within 2 days stating that the disk will be replaced free of cost and here it is. Happy with the response from Bajaj.Click image for larger version

I might be jumping in the middle but that's the reason why I admire Bajaj. Their dealers might not be great, at least in Pune, but the company is surely serious about their flagship model. Makes me think about getting a D400 home.

Glad that you got it replaced free of cost.. ofcourse it should be.. Bajaj is really good, at-least when you complain that service is not up-to the mark..

I had a different issue with my D400, but that was sorted out very quickly..

No, you are not. I couldn't agree more. Bajaj has been exceptional with taking user feedback and implementing them readily too. By the way, I used to own a Pulsar NS 200 in Pune until last year. I don't want to digress but I miss riding in and around Pune. I miss that city.

And do get Dominar. No bike can beat it in terms of value for money in this segment.

Thanks for the reply, So i guess the service guy was talking about the magnetic filter. It is a relief to know that i will not have to remove any part of the exhaust to remove this bolt.

Because Dominar 400's stock disk rotor is completely circular. I know petal disk has better heat dissipation properties but what I didn't like was the service centre guys replacing the stock disk rotor with a petal one, that too without informing me. And I didn't want to fiddle around too much with the stock setup. Lastly, it was weird, the front disk was all round and the rear disk was petal.

                            Hello folks!

What do you guys feel about wraps? How durable are they? Can they withstand long term exposure to water in rain and washing? I was thinking of getting a Vinyl wrap done on my Dominar.

This happened due to the bad quality of the Bajaj's engine oil (which got changed at 9500kms and the current reading is 12500kms). Got the whole oil changed along with the filter and stainer. And for which they made me to pay for it, when i asked them that how can the engine oil be so thick even after 3000kms of running. For which Bajaj regional enginner told me that the bike is running in dirt area, due to which engine oil is filled with dust.
I cant understand when engine oil is packed then how can it be dirt filled. Secondly these bikes are made for Indian conditions as the country is in developing stage. Such a lame response from a Bajaj Sr. Techincal Guy.
An engine oil can get contaminated due to excessively dusty conditions. When air is sucked into the engine, the air is filtered through a medium called air filter. Now, over time the air filter loses its efficiency and the air that goes into engine isn't as clean as it once was. Now, when combustion takes place, it's caused by the air/fuel mixture. All combustion causes some amount of blowby, which contaminates the oil inside the engine, that's one part of it.

Secondly, the clutch itself, the clutch plates shed ever so slightly whenever the motorcycle is used, leaving behind clutch residue, which mixes with the oil over time and contaminates the oil.

To top it up, the same engine oil is used by the gearbox for lubrication, which itself shears, rips and shock loads the oil, which means the oil loses viscosity and gets even more contaminated by the above two process.

The result? An oil that is smelly, mushy and sometimes some fine particles too can be found when the oil is drained.

When compared to a car engine oil, the torture" a motorcycle's engine oil is subject to is the reason motorcycles require such frequent intervals.

Hope you got a gist of why!

                                Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                                The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                                THE END
