Nothing is wrong. As long as it's near upper level mark, nothing to worry about. The manufacturers would have kept this situation in mind while designing the engine.Originally posted by Technfunn View PostHey my friend has dominar and by mistake he filled 1.6 ltr and so engine oil while servicing his bike, even though when checked the marks the engine oil level was slightly touching the top mark . Alright I was worrying about the leaking or was thinking to drain it little bit.. its slightly touching the top mark. as some of them were saying to drain and all.. But i thought to discuss here rather than taking any stepOriginally posted by leech View PostNothing is wrong. As long as it's near upper level mark, nothing to worry about. Woo hoo! Congrats. The blue color bike right...? I did my test ride on that bike too. You can ask to choose your bike. Their storage is on the 4th floor or the same building. Speak to Arvind (Manager) if reqd. I did a Pre delivery inspection (including if the cables are connected) and choose from 3 bikes that they had. They are more than accommodative.Originally posted by maahinberi View PostOrdered
I have one concern though. The test bike had the speedometer disabled and ODO stuck at 1km.
This seems fishy. Can I be sure they won't be selling me such a test bike?Wind in my hair.... and I'm semi bald...

ECU Update?
Hi Fellow Owners,
I heard on another forum that a new ECU update numbered 117 has come out for the ABS variant of Dominar. Is anyone here privy to this information? If so, can someone also share the change in characteristics it brings about for the bike?
Apologies if this has been discussed in the past.Blood, Sweat and Gears - Enough Said.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Turns out the vibes came back after the engine heated up, its not the evap system as opening and closing the lid did no difference. the engine mounting bolts tightning was not done properly i bet.Originally posted by Ijs View Post4.5 to 5k rpm zone is the vibration zone i have vibes in that zone too.
If u suffering jerks and vibes in hot engine then do get the evap system checked, and open and close the tank before and after a hot ride and try to park in shade.
To reduce the vibrations get the engine mounting bolts tightened up there are there on the rhs.
Also get the condition of airfilter checked a choked af can also make a bike jerky
Shifts gears at 4k rpm or above from second onwards it will also help and try not to ride in higher gear at lower rpm.
Interesting, unfortunately my bike has the initial stock map (got the bike on april 11) and the bike vibrates like nuts (note I'm not talking about vobrarion of fober parts , it's like coming from the engine and the whole bike is vibrating , so it's not the sound of loose fiber components, it's the engine )! its almost like a freaking royal enfield at 80kmph vibrating the shit out of everything. its definitely not normal. I will be showing it to the svc tomorrow again to see if they can fix it. hopefully ill get the update along with it. fingers crossed.Originally posted by satyajit200ns View PostLatest dominar ecu update 117 for abs version
Rpm limit 9k
Less vibes
Smoother than before
Better low end
Bike pulling good from 2.5k rpm earlier 3k rpm
Did not test top speed
Tested abs working good
Will keep updated about the milage.Last edited by shriomman; 05-10-2018, 02:57 PM.

That will have the latest map.
Most vibes settle out after 4k kms.
Using motul dampens them more.
Get the foundation bolt tightened along with all panel screws!
Yes 4k to 5k rpm is the transition period of dominar [emoji23]
It transforms from human to animal hence the vibes.
Enjoy your ride!

Re: ECU Update?
I updated it at nashik.Originally posted by Ijs View PostPlease share ur experience with update 117 here so that it will be helpful to all, and which city did u get the update.
Initial observation is bike is Smoother than before.
Riding with pillion is easier than before ie. Lesser gear shifts low down.
Have tanked up yesterday itself will update the milage when I fill her up again.
As of now getting 35/36 strictly on highway (speeds maintained under 90kmph)
City use I get 26/28kmpl (I am not very sane in city)
Have a question
Does the duke front brake pads fit dominar? Direct fit? Also are those sintered?
Will be ordering ebc for the rear soon but did not see anything for the front end.
