Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Well not entirely true... it’s very difficult to not ride Amun Ra in triple digits speed. Riding at 120-130kmph feels more natural on Dominar and at these speeds before you could count to 10 Mississippi, 2-3 bars are knockout on fuel indicator.Originally posted by Abhii97 View PostHii, nice to see such figures. Btw from the rest of the logs can I conclude that your driving is primary based in the city with good amount of traffic?
on another note- 116 is no longer latest. Check with your respective service center. I don’t remember exact no.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Following are my observations-Originally posted by Ijs View PostIf possible please confirm the file versions for abs and non abs, and what is the change u feel compared to 116.
1. Engine smoother compared to 116,
2. Marginal improvement on fuel efficiency by 10-12 km),
3. A tad decrease in vibrations on handle bar but in 6th gear doing 80-90kmph almost zero vibs,
4. 1st gear speed limit increased before up shift required and
5. Torque curve, could feel bike pulling in gears 1 to 5.

Re: Dominar 400 coolant Oil
Water based coolants in our motorcycles are not volatile but it does get evaporated due to the high temperature.Originally posted by Harsha368 View PostHello,
My dominar 400 bike radiator oil is getting used up very quickly. My last top up was 200KM before.
Please help me out in this regards that what can be the issue for such a volatility of the coolant.
Reason for rapid drop in coolant could be due to leaks, evaporation & spill from cracked radiator cap/reservoir or due to mixing of coolant in the engine oil.
Check you engine oil condition from the sight glass & take it to the service for an inspection.
Bajaj service generally uses Motul Inugel expert coolant. I have changed (on my friend's Dominar) to Motul Motocool expert coolant.Originally posted by Harsha368 View PostHi all,
What grade and type of radiator coolant oil is used in dominar 400.
It helps me in filling up the oil by myself and also to avoid going to service center to do it.
Thanks and regards.
The heat management on the Dominar is good so I don't think stuff like Engine Ice is needed but I would surely like to try it once.

Thanks and regards. This problem does occurred in few bikes , the coolant was getting mixed with engine oil, due to faulty head gasket and water pump seal, do get the issue properly checked up and simple way to do this is to check the engine oil, if coolant is mixing it would look like coffee with little froth on top. So u need to get everything flushed out and new fluids after the main leak is stopped.Originally posted by Harsha368 View PostHi all,

Do get it. checked.
Bajaj is using Bajaj koolex 50:50 antifreeze coolant.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
hi, i'm from Turkey.
i have Dominar since August 2017. We have abs version in Turkey becouse of Euro4 Norms.
Some of us have same issues like you about throttle choke on 4-4500 rpms. And still no ecu updtes come to Turkey.
Our Countrie's Bajaj Cheif of Sale Managemet of said " In india market D400's have Euro3 norms, while in Turkey D400's have Euro4 norms.
becouse of that, Indıan's ecu updates(abs ver 116 ) are not compatible of Turkeys."
In short are Dominar's in India have Euro3 norms or euro4 norms. Could you inform me please.
Thank you.

For a fact we are now using Bs6/euro 6 fuel in Delhi since April 1 2018(no more bs4 /euro 4 fuel here in Delhi), And all cities would shift to Bs6 fuel from April 1 2019.
Do confirm which map version you have there in your bikes, and do mail a proper complaint sheet signed by owners to bajaj directly. Our current maps file numbers are 115 for non abs and 116 for abs.
And we also are rumored to get new map.
You can also try re setting the ecu. Search for it on YouTube. It will help upto some extent.
Do open and close the tank cap before and after a hot ride to let the trapped gases escape.Last edited by Ijs; 04-12-2018, 11:39 PM.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hey Guys.
I've read a lot about the Dominar on this forum and have decided to go for it. The only issue I have is that the Tax to be paid in Bangalore is huge and costs close to 1.97 Lakhs onroad. My hometown is Hyderabad and I keep travelling there every month. I was wondering whether I could purchase the bike in Hyderabad (Rs 1.78 L On road)and ride down to Bangalore one weekend. The trip would be close to 600 kms.
I wanted your opinion on whether doing this would be advisable. I mean it is a new bike after all. What if there would be complications along the drive?

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Probably next weekend. On the one hand I could save a lot of money, get to know my bike better on a 600 km trip. On the other hand, is it advisable to go this long a trip on a brand-new bikeOriginally posted by hardikbhansali View PostAre you planning to go back to Hyderabad anytime soon?
