Has that been fixed now. Also the rear brake pads were on a little rougher side. How is that now.I did not get a chance to ride the 2018 edition so I dont know!
    Buy cbr 250.

2nd service was done yesterday. Paid 2078rs.

        1. Engine oil replaced.
        2. Front steering cone replaced.
        3. Coolant refilled.
        4. Oil filter cleaned.
        5. Air filter changed. (I told them to do so as suggested by some members here while I was complaining about the bike's performance.)
        6. Chain maintenance done.
        7. Engine mounting bolts tightened.
        8. Water washed.

        Things that changed:

The bike feels amazing now. It feels much more responsive, eager and snappier to throttle input. The vibes are almost non existent now, except those few creeping in at 4.5k till 5.5k RPM. Engine feels so smooth. Before I gave it to the service it was pretty harsh and rough. The mileage is pretty much the same.

        Things that hasn't changed:

Gearbox still makes that aggressive thud sound while hard downshifting and during some upshifts. Almost like a hammer hit sometimes.

Overall the service experience was good, the personals were pretty cooperative and understanding unlike the last time. Bajaj is doing some excellent job on it's after sales service.

For good torque and serviceability and affordable spares: D400
For a stress free engine, sports tourer stance, robust build quality, CBR 250R it is.

As long as the service center is a Bajaj One with good servicing equipments, you can get your bike serviced. They note down the number in your service slips and enter the details to a central server, so it's easy to keep track of the servicing records anywhere, that's how it works. If you're apprehensive of the service quality, you can take it to another SVC where they cater to your needs.

            Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
            The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Many thanks for the quick reply. one more thing is it normal to have interrupted rear braking when we hard press the rear brake.. it feels as if the brake is engaging then disengaging rapidly.. i dont think so its abs because it is happening on hard pressing even at low speeds or is it just abs.. the rear brakes are practically useless for me and the front brakes are actually pretty good..

This is how abs works, you would feel something knocking on the paddle. These are abs pulsations preventing the wheel lock as rear is more prone to lock and skid.
Use 70:30 front : rear ratio for more effective and efficient breaking.
Rear is basically used in very low speed or while correcting your line when you enter a bend too hot.
Say when you enter a corner too hot and the bike would be pointing to the direction you don't want to go, then tap the rear break a little and lift the bike up with body and shoulder movement to correct the line.
Using rear break helps in adjusting your speed when u enter the bend or corner too fast , keep the throttle steady and use rear break and tighten ur line. If in this case u use front break then it would be like asking too much traction from the front tyre.

And on the normal road use when you are not carrying too much speed the the rear wheel has more weight and traction so applying rear break works well here.
But in speed to cut the inertia only the front works.

One should always test and get use to the breaking dynamics of his or her new bike so that it can be used more effectively.

Man the 2018 models have gotten crazy improvements. The test ride vehicle was from the first lot and my friend recently got a dominar a few months ago, and I happen to ride both today itself ! and damn, substantial difference ! that difference is whats making me move to dominar. Hopefully i'll get the bike by next month.

did anyone hookup a powertronic on their dominar? (just asking out of curiosity, ill probably never opt for it)

Could you please describe the differences in as much detail as possible for everyone's benefit?

                    Thanks in advance.

Keep in mind that these are coming from a person who's new to dominar and haven't really gotten the bike yet. I felt the difference as I rode both the bikes barely 15 minutes apart.

Whats better in the new version (feb 2018 vs from the first lot on launch date).
1 - The vibrations have been reduced all throughout the revrange.
2 - The throttle jerkiness is absolutely gone, it was very noticeable while decelerating and accelerating gently say in 3rd gear.
3 - The suspension is now much software than what it was (i read somewhere that its adjustable, let me know if its true and if it can be done yourself at home)
4 - The front headlight unit seemed to be vibrating on the older models and is no longer present on the newer ones.
5 - Bike feels more punchy even in lower revs say about 2-3k rpm than the older one.

these are all the changes I noticed. Both bikes were about 2k on the odometer and completed first service and were running bajaj stock oil.

some of these could be placebo though, these are the things i felt.

Thanks once again for your detailed inputs. The changes really make for a complete bike and at the price point irresistible.

When are you getting your Domi?

Other Dominar 400 2018 owners, please do share your thoughts as well from the 2018 model perspective.

It's been a week since i took the delivery of my dominar and have just completed little over 300kms. I can surely say bike is becoming smooth with passing of each day. Vibrations were strong during first 2-3 days but it's disappearing from since.
Will post my observations once i pile up more on odo

Details of ngk if u have , and you must have done it at a good workshop as the third one is a hard to access and needs a special tool.
And did u also change to high intensity cables like msg with ngk plugs as that would also benefit.
