Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Here is the video of 3d technical meet held at lajpat nagar delhi.
Video by zma0101 aka soni varghese.
Let me share one new info which i got to know in yesterday's meet
See the pic below
Below this is a black cylindrical plastic charcoal canister below the metal bar which is visible in th circle marked . It is the part of evap system which recirculate the fuel gases and helps in meeting bs4 norms which i have shared previously too.
But new thing is do not put a cloth or cover it by keeping papers on it as that can also lead to lag and missing.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Any DIY guys here? I wanted to know what all tools apart from the ones that come with the bike are needed to maintain the bike? I ask this as I got these handlebar risers and the toolkit from bajaj didn't have the required tool to remove and reassemble the handlebar. It's helpful to have a toolkit around while riding long distances.Last edited by jani-boy; 03-18-2018, 12:21 PM.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
where did Bajaj mention RE in its ads .They simply talking about low brake, low climbing power, low headlight etc what makes RE think they are pointing at itOriginally posted by Amrit.Singh View PostA warm hello to everyone. A quick question to all the Dominar owners, what are your views about the Bajaj ads against RE?2030 " we used to ride petrol motorbike and you can not even afford one drop of it"

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi Guys, yesterday i went to ECR and tried to find out the top speed of my "Yeti".
In the first run itself i clocked an impressive 161 indicated ( Actual 149 in the app- attached image)
And the good thing was it had a bit more grunt left ( may be few hundred revs) before i decided to slow down and I believe it can do around 167-168 indicated

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Have had the Raven for a week now. clocked 350 kms. a few things that i have noticed.
1. The side stand indicator doesnt seem to work anymore. earlier it used to show side stand led now it doesnt even if the stand is out.
2. The bike has vibes in the 4k range and they are really irritating me. theres vibes on the handlebar s too.. maybe the first service will take care of that.
3. Thud sound coming from the tail seat. Removed the toolkit but still there.. at this point dont know whats the cause
4. The gearbox in lower gears isnt as refined.. tend to have a forced shift down in 2nd or 3rd gear.. the 6th gear is truly amazing to ride in..
5. The fuel gauge doesnt update as we ride. it is only when the bike is switched off then on again you get an updated gauge. this is kinda scary for a tourer..
6. Rear view mirrors are useless imho. need better mirrors .. barend mirrors maybe .. do these void warranty?
Apart from these.. Truly a wonderfull machine and an absolute VFM proposition from Bajaj.

Good that you have frequent technical meet.
In some future technical meet Can you clarify with them whether it is good to kill engine when radiator fan is running?

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hey Folks,
I have literally read through all the messages here. But, I am still super confused.
So, I basically only commute to office (<15 up and down on weekdays) and plan to head out on the open in weekends, assuming 100+ on weekends.
I currently own an Apache RTR 180 ABS, and my major requirements are reduced vibrations and a decent upgrade
Coming to the Dominar, I am slightly worried about the vibes, as I dont want another RTR level experience.
Budget is not a problem
Should I instead opt for a RR 310 or a Duke 390?
Please help me

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Yes it is perfectly safe to turn off the engine when the fan is running as no heating will be added to it in that state, it is only advisable and recommended to idle the engine after a hot ride or drive when the engine is running on a turbocharger, which in our case is not applicable.Originally posted by neeljinwala View PostGood that you have frequent technical meet.

But important thing is one should idle before starting the ride for the first time in the day and when moving after a break of several hours. So that the oil can get proper circulation.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
@dradnishkhannew.540
1 get the side stand switch or sensor checked for this issue.
2 4k to 5k range vibrations would always remain but would come down considerably with services and usage, go for early first service say at 500kms, and do get fresh oil at first three services.
3 could be the sound from suspension or chain it would also disappear with usage but some chain noise would remain as bike has a very long swing arm and chain would touch the slider.
5 get the gauge checked up.
6 no it doesn't void the warranty.
Good luck happy riding.
