Why the heck handling charges ? .. Already they are making money in the form of registration (RTO) charges..
Bought Dominar last week and though I did not pay any handling charges, I paid a fee of Rs 1060 towards accessories. Most of the Bajaj dealers have take it or leave it attitude. I also feel complaining to Bajaj may not help much.

1,060 towards accessories is indirect way of collecting handling charges.. Mirrors, saree guard are mandatory by every manufacturer to provide.. crash guard is optional.. But i believe crash guard also is part of standard accessory for Dominar.. Mirrors, saree guard & crash guard are all incl of ex-showroom price..

I sincerely hope that Bajaj doesn't take this as how some state govt departments handles feedback.. Never mind, i am still taking this up to Bajaj..There is a Dominar facebook page, which i think is Bajaj official.. Let me try pinging them & hope for resolution..

If there is a resolution, at-least future buyers shouldn't be harassed of unreasonable compulsory handling charges..

In continuation to the above post, i had pinged Bajaj on facebook page abt the handling charges.. They had provided me with this link to register the complaint..

Here is the link for the same - http://callcentermanagement.excellon...gn=ORM_Twitter

If any of you feel, that you have been robbed in the name of handling charges by the dealer, please register your feedback here & let Bajaj know abt the same.. At-least this is the best in this situation..Hoping for better days..

Accessories come with bike.. I don't think you should be paying extra for that.

When I bought my Hornet, Sai Point Honda, Mumbai was charging me 5k for accessories. Decided not to buy from them and got from another dealer who included everything without additional cost.

My experience buying the bike has also been ruined by the dealership. i was quoted 177000 and assured delivery 2 days later for a matte black abs unit. however post booking they didnot bother to inform anything.. had to keep calling and when i finally got the bike they tell me i have to pay 2000 extra as cost has increased.. this is cheating imho..

Can anyone suggest me a service centre in Hyderabad for perfect ECU update?

Recently bought the Dominar and I feel there is some lag kind of thing from the day one itself. I cannot explain in clearly but I can feel like the bike is behaving like it doesn't have sufficient fuel in it. Somewhat like what we see in Carburettor bike. I can feel this while riding mostly in 4th or 5th gear and at a speeds of 55-68kmph.

Anyhow my bike is getting near to the 1st service interval so I am planning to insist the service centre guys to check the ECU part of my bike.
I think they will say that its a 2018 model so no need of any update as it will come preloaded. But I want them to check the ECU version and re-install it if needed.

So I am looking for a service centre in Hyderabad which has a good technical knowledge as I don't want my new bike to get ruined in the hands of an inexperienced person.

@sharath yes the new bikes have pre updated ecu files. Last updates we received were back in mid 2017 fill 116 for abs and 115 for non abs. The issue u have mentioned is associated with air lock in the tank since weather is getting hot, and with bs4 norms making tank caps fully airtight the hot gases have only on tiny escape route to the charcoal canister. So make a habit to open and close the tank before you move or when the bike is parked in hot for long.
Getting the ecu reflash will help clear any lag in fueling.

Hello,

I am 38 about 6ft tall approx 100kg.Daily office commute is around 30km (15 one way)Weekends little bit touring (100km runs max) Looking for 250cc +
Most of my weekend rides are going to be with Pillion (so Pillion comfort is must have)
Ruled out Bullets (used to own one TB sold it long back due to high maintenance and unreliability.

Test-driven FZ25 loved it! The only drawback I see is ABS (I live in Pune and we have to use breaks pretty much every other second)
Test-driven KTM Duke 250 felt like I am sitting on Tobu bicycle too lightweight for my taste and I felt it bit difficult to control.

Test-driven Dominar loved everything about it - the only thing I am concerned about is brand Bajaj I mean should I really spend close to 2 lack rupees on Bajaj bike. Every single person (some of them even bajaj bike owners) are telling me not to go with Bajaj

I see some great advantages with Dominar with ABS, Slipper clutch etc, which are missing on FZ25 but I felt FZ25 very easy to handle especially in bumper to bumper traffic.

Any help choosing right 250cc + bike with primary usage as a daily commuter with great comfort. Budget is not a constraint.

I followed this thread and read a lot of good experiences about Dominar but what do you think would be life of this bike, how will it perform 3-4 years down the line. Is this going to incur a lot of maintenance ?

Hi Vishwesh,

Getting straight to the point, the pillion comfort is good in the Dominar as the seat has a decent cross section area. The only issue with pillion comfort arises due to the torque of the bike and the fact that the seat is pretty much horizontal. Trust me on this, both my wife and mom have sat on the bike many times and my mom always complains that she keeps sliding back whenever I accelerate. This happens in mild accelerations at city speeds. So the pillion will have to grab hold of the rider at all times. The seat material and padding is good and no complaints there.

Secondly, if you already have a pre conceived notion due to what has been told to you by other riders about Bajaj bikes and you genuinely do not feel at ease in dropping this amount of money on an indigenous brand then please dont. Nothing is worse than buyer's remorse. This is my second Bajaj bike and apart from the ECU issues (mine being from the first batch of Dominars) I have had little else to complain. I am using this bike as a stepping stone to a 650 cc bike and would rather save money now and buy a better more refined Jap later than plonk a large sum now in a sub 500 cc bike. Lets be honest, this is the most power you will get under Rs 2 Lakhs on road.

Your call.

Hey guys, is it possible to get the Dominar in the new body colors but with the old black alloys? I love the new body colors but not too fond of the golden alloys. [emoji21]

Buy the bike with new alloys keep it for some time and if it didn't grow on you get them painted as per ur liking.
As of now for the older alloysyou have to order them and buy it from your showroom which will increase the cost.

Congrats [emoji2]. Blue is getting popular it seems.. Which showroom? I booked from Popular bajaj (bg road, next to ktm ). They are providing Oriental insurance. Did not opt for 3 years. Can you provide me the price breakup? You can find mine just couple of pages back.
