Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Bro side stand indicator works only when the kill switch is turned on . Yes vibes are the my one are still there after 1st service . You are right the 6th gear is the best.Originally posted by drdanishkhannew.540 View PostHave had the Raven for a week now. clocked 350 kms. a few things that i have noticed.
1. The side stand indicator doesnt seem to work anymore. earlier it used to show side stand led now it doesnt even if the stand is out.
2. The bike has vibes in the 4k range and they are really irritating me. theres vibes on the handlebar s too.. maybe the first service will take care of that.
3. Thud sound coming from the tail seat. Removed the toolkit but still there.. at this point dont know whats the cause
4. The gearbox in lower gears isnt as refined.. tend to have a forced shift down in 2nd or 3rd gear.. the 6th gear is truly amazing to ride in..
5. The fuel gauge doesnt update as we ride. it is only when the bike is switched off then on again you get an updated gauge. this is kinda scary for a tourer..
6. Rear view mirrors are useless imho. need better mirrors .. barend mirrors maybe .. do these void warranty?
Apart from these.. Truly a wonderfull machine and an absolute VFM proposition from Bajaj.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi All, just got my account activated, and would like to Thank all of you for your inputs regarding this bike. My main requirement is to get a bike with ABS (non negotiable) and something which I can use for weekend rides. I can't think of any other bike than the Dominar which can a better VFM.
Have gone through close to 50% of the ownership pages and have my heart set on Matte Black. Hope to get it booked shortly (in Bangalore).
I wanted to know if there are any discounts/offers you guys recd while booking your bike. My sales guy is adamant that there are no discounts and has given me a price of Rs 196,000 as the on-road price. The only thing I may want is the IND # plate (Rs 750) and maybe a wind screen?Wind in my hair.... and I'm semi bald...

Most Bajaj dealers are hardheaded when it comes to the discount part, and most don't even entertain one. Though if you press a little hard, you can get a discount of 500 to a max of 1000 when the cash is paid in full. Secondly, to your windscreen requirement, try ILLUVIA INDUSTRIES, they have a variety of add-ons for the DOMINAR, MOJO and KTM DUKE. They have plethora of accessories for the Dominar, right from windshield to footrests to crash guards to even luggage racks and what not.Originally posted by sanjeet286 View PostHi All, just got my account activated, and would like to Thank all of you for your inputs regarding this bike. Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Thanks B7ACKTHORN. Will try my best regarding the price. Yes I have bookmarked LLUVIA Industries and heard about Via Terra as well (think they are for touring accessories though).Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostMost Bajaj dealers are hardheaded when it comes to the discount part, and most don't even entertain one. In fact, lots of textile goods offered by different brands. ILLUVIA are a notch up when it comes to Dominar accessories, their DOMIVEL Kit is something most Dominar owners lust after. Viaterra offers decent baggage solutions. Spend a little extra and invest in a proper set of riding gears.Originally posted by sanjeet286 View PostThanks B7ACKTHORN. Absolutely. Going to spend close to 8k for a helmet (MT series) and then a bit next in list is a jacket (Rynox?) and pants. Don't want to risk anything especially since I'm taking on such a powerful machine.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORNSpend a little extra and invest in a proper set of riding gears.Wind in my hair.... and I'm semi bald...

I think you are pointing towards Autologue design ,Domivel is their product and they have the best wind shield design.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostIn fact, lots of textile goods offered by different brands. Indeed it is. Thank you, Ijis for pointing it out. And I reckon the windshield is the stock one that they've used in the DOMIVEL or am I missing the finer details here?Originally posted by Ijs View PostI think you are pointing towards Autologue design ,Domivel is their product and they have the best wind shield design.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Yes you are right they are using stock wind shield in the Domivel but the do have a different and larger wind shield which many have been using. That design is also copied by some dealership of Bng and selling it under their name.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostIndeed it is. Thank you, Ijis for pointing it out. Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi All,I am narrowing down on my choices to a bike which serves me as a tourer and also a commuter sometimes.D400 and CBR250R are my two choices currently. CBR no doubt is reliable. D400 might still have the reliability question. My actual question is : Have heard the initial releases had vibrations coming out from the petrol tank (near the handle bar), at low rpm's which was due to improper rubber cladding for the plastic cover over the metal tank. Has that been fixed now. Also the rear brake pads were on a little rougher side. How is that now.I did not get a chance to ride the 2018 edition so I dont know!
