    2) you can push to 85-100kmph during the journey, but not for too long. Don't rev more than 5.5k rpm
    3) don't stay at a particular speed for too long. Go to 80, them slow down to 60 for a bit, then push to 90, then back to 75 etc etc. You can stay on certain speed for a bit and then change it.
    4) Stop every 60-80kms or every 45mins if it's your first long ride. The benefits of a quick 10min break is unbelievable. And your body will thank you later.
    5) riding gears!!
    6) tank up, fill air in your tires (I generally do 30F 33R for long rides), check oil and coolant levels
    7) have fun :-). Assuming it'll be only you and your Dominar, take time to understand her and how she reacts to the road. Accordingly adjust your riding style.

Completed the trip, returned just today morning:
    Total Kms - 564 Kms
    Highway Drive - 390 Kms.
City Drive (with traffic) - 174 Kms.
    Avg. Milage - 30.83 Km/ltrs.

    Experience:-
    Good:
    a. Butter smooth on the highway was between 70 - 90 Km/hr. Most of the time was hovering around 85 Km/hr.
    b. The headlight is better than my car's projector headlight.
    c. Vibration is almost absent in comprising to RE.
    d. Decent mileage.
    c. Tank coverage is around 290-300 Kms with 3 ltrs. in reserve.

    Bad:
    a. Chain socket making "Kuchh Kuchh" sound every 300 Kms. Had to lubricate the chain twice to cover 564 Kms. Please suggest a fix.
    b. Suspension seems to be stiff on bad roads. Pilon complaining about the stiffness. Can the setting be changed and made softer so that pilon is comfortable?
    c. Some pain in hands, when riding in the city. This will be sorted once I install the handlebar risers.

    Questions:
    a. Do I need to adjust the chain, around 1010 Kms covered post servicing?
    b. Suggest a mobile holder for Dominar.

That was a pretty long journey for a first time ride. The bike is another level on the 6th gear. Absolutely love it. I feel like the low beam is perfect but the high beam just throws light around, but not in a particular direction.

Chain sprocket - this is weird. Only thing I can think of is dirt and mud stuck. Did you clean the whole chain (including front sprocket) or just clean/lube the chain. I do it every 400-500kms and spend atleast 45mins in cleaning. Ensure dirt is removed properly.

Suspension - can be changed. Think there are 3 levels and the default one is middle.

Pain in hands - will go gradually. I also faced it, but use gloves and its non existent now.

Chain - take it to a local mechanic or SC if you need to adjust the slackness.

Mobile holder - I use the LIFESTYLE-YOU TM universal bike holder (comes without a charger) and it's pretty good. Held well even at 150kmph.
Wind in my hair.... and I'm semi bald...

I recently bought my dominar, my very first bike, and i was so excited that i completed 500kms in 5 days . Took it to the highway on the second day itself. Just waiting to complete 2000kms for the rpm to get unlocked. Anyway, anybody from delhi here who can suggest me a good service station as i've heard not so good things about dewan bajaj. Also, apart from karol bagh, are there any good stores where i can get accessories for my bike? Like a bigger windshield, knuckle guards, frame sliders, etc.

Hello Dominar owners, I currently own a Royal Enfield Classic 350 2016 and I'm fed up with the restrictions of highway speeds, comfort and poor brakes and high maintenance cost.

I'm pondering switching over to a new Yamaha FZ25 or a second hand Dominar 400 or CBR250R.

As this is a Dominar forum, would a second hand Dominar be a good option against the other two options?

If anybody can guide me through the overall honest review of the product, and the maintenance costs, I would be thankful.

Also, does anyone feel any improvement in the overall quality + engine smoothness when comparing the Dominar of the first batch against the recent Dominars?

I want to be able to ride good distances at around 100-120 kmph with minimal/no vibrations and comfort.

                Thank You.

If you are juggling between these bikes either go for dominar 400 or FZ-25 as these bikes best for touring...cbr 250 is also a good bike..
FZ-25 -> Best for Touring as well as city commuting
DOMINAR 400 -> Good for Touring although its has 13ltr tank, city commuting is quiet difficult as the bike is huge(182kgs)
CBR 250-> This is also a good bike for both city and touring..
But if you want a value for money go for Dominar 400. As you get ABS and AHO....D400 is worth each penny.

Bagga link kirti nagar and prefer shiv dayal ji as the service personal. For accessories kb is the best place to get almost every thing.

Got the 4th service done today at 11589kms on odo. It is my first paid service. Dominar is performing flawlessly.
Highway milage achieved on last 350kms ride before the service with 5000kms old oil is 33.5kmpl city fe stands at 26 to 28kmpl.
Got the ecu updated to 117 at this service , and yes this is the confirmed latest version for Abs Dominar. Did stalled the bike few times after the update while downshifts to counter this use the revv matching and this will be normal after 5 to 10kms no stalling after that. This happens coz the ecu takes a little time to adjust to throttle input with new software.

Service cost is INR 2510, which includes bajaj dtsi 10000 10w50 oil 1.5 ltrs, new airfilter, new oil filter, new inline fuel filter, rear break pads(older ones still have 40% life left), chain overhaul/service, some consumables and paid labour charges which is 500 plus gst.

Chain adjustment of my Dominar is now at the second point which means it can easily last over 20k kms. I am regular with lubing but, i avoid Cleaning at frequent short intervals and i dont ride in Jack the ripper mode(sometimes i do ride like that).

Now the important part, for the owners of older lot or 2017 Made bikes bajaj have released a tank vibration reduction kit which is free of cost for old owners(some labour might be charged).
And the other very important part is the L shaped clamp for chain slider to keep it in its place to prevent it form coming off and ending up in the front sproket (which has happened with few owners).
Today the vibration kit was out of stock but they did install the chain slider clamp behind the chain dust cover, for this the technician did remove the gear lever (don't know why). For this clamp i was not charged a single rupee , only a warranty slip was made relating to the chassis number.
Do contact your service center for this clamp( do not refer my name ) i am not allowed to shared the pic of the part here. But this update seems to be an important one and kudos to bajaj for keep working to improve a already fantastic motorcycle.

My Dominar is from the very first lot and delivered on the first day.
Wish you all infinite happy miles.

Hmm i think no, as it was also installed on another bike after mine , that is matt black with golden rims.

Anyway. You should write long term dominar review at 15k I believe. And your running is so less. I thought your bike must have upwards of 20 - 25 k at least. Lol

Most of it has been done on highway, i don't get many days to ride. Only have Sunday in the name of chutti and that too is not possible all the time, shadi shuda hoo bhai.

Heard that Bajaj is installing anti-vibration kit for free for all Dominar. How true is it? Anyone opted for the same, if yes please share the experience.
