Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Ask the service center guys to make the suspension softer by one setting, after they do it take a small test drive and feel it for yourself. if you want it to be more soft go again and ask them to do itOriginally posted by Greymatter View PostAnybody???Peace

I own 2018 model, clocked 9.3k kms, age 1.3 years. Gear shift at any lower 2, 3, 4 gears is not smooth many times. Sometimes it shifts without any clunck or hardness. I don't know whether the problem is with clutch plates or clutch free play or any other issue.
I ride responsibly with full clutch disengaged during gear shifts.
Took to service center they adjusted clutch free play but after few hundred kms gear shift becomes soar.
Any inputs whether any thing need to checked/addressed for this issue.
This makes my ride experience really worse
TIA.

Nithu
Hi, I have experienced this some times when the chain is not clean. Not sure how its connected but when chain is dirty or dry gear shifts becomes hard
Clean and lube it and try once.
Even try rev matching when down shifting. While clutch pressed raise the accelerator slightly and then shift.
These are the 2 things which has worked for my dominar

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Took a second test ride yesterday and felt even more confident than the first time, I didn't even feel that the brakes lack the bite that many reviewers say. My only qualm would be that the turn radius is quite low and in city conditions, hard turns and cornering would require heavy effort.Originally posted by Dr.Strange View PostIt is completely stable as I have been riding it for last couple of weeks in Mumbai traffic and open roads, both feel absolutely amazing. I would say go for it.
Anyway went ahead and booked the Aurora green model at Khivraj Bajaj, Chennai. Awaiting delivery next week wednesday or thursday.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Initial Impressions after 2800 kms ride
1) Sometimes engine is harsh and speed doesn't build quite effectively.
2) Tractability is an issue. Engine can't pull from 50kph in 6th gear, knocking issues.
3) Tappet noise after 2k kms is unfortunate for most of Dominar owners.
4) Mileage is around 24-25 kmpl in City and 29-31 kmpl in highway.
5) Front is heavy and manoeuvre is hard in tight spaces
6) LCD on 2nd Display is disaster, only good while you're standing still.
7) Trip meter stucks at 999.99
8) Pillion seat is not that comfortable.
9) Other than this, it feels awesome to ride.

Guys, I am planning to upgrade my bike...Already owned rs200 and classic 350..I need a bike best for touring and daily commute..My choices are new dominar and duke 390..Personally I feel dominar is value for money and duke 390 just looks cool and raw power and has more problems in maintenance too...Can dominar 2019 owners can shed some light...Is new dominar is good in all aspects??

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Even I have booked 2019 Dominar 400 as my budget was below 2.5L, will be getting it delivered in 1st week of October.. can't tell you about any issues as of now, but I will be riding it from Mumbai to Pune after taking delivery. I will share, if I face any issues. One of my friend in Mumbai got old dominar, he once rode his bike in flooded area during rainy season. Entire engine was in water, he just went to svc next day and got the oil & filter changed, his bike is still running fine..Originally posted by Gowdaman View PostThank you for replying asap. According to me, every bike has its cons.. you just have to understand those cons and find the roundabouts..

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
The Dominar is a Bajaj-ized version of the Duke 390 but in a different package, to put it honestly. If you tour a lot, and would love to have a stable, comfortable riding stance and would like to add more accessories for it in the future, then the Domi is the better choice, with it having tons of third party accessories and add-ons to make it a complete touring rig from the onset. The Duke 390 is more a fun handling machine, but the Domi does pack a punch, and now almost on par with torque to the KTM, the Domi should be a cost effective and a decent proposition.Originally posted by Gowdaman View PostGuys, I am planning to upgrade my bike...Already owned rs200 and classic 350..I need a bike best for touring and daily commute..My choices are new dominar and duke 390..Personally I feel dominar is value for money and duke 390 just looks cool and raw power and has more problems in maintenance too...Can dominar 2019 owners can shed some light...Is new dominar is good in all aspects??

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Honestly, all things said and done I would go for the dominar, I'm no fan boy i traded my domi for my friends 500 chrome for a month and I miss the bike, there are a ton of niggles but I figured it out as they came l, 5ķ km and a little bit of initiative and this bike just takes on a life of it's own, effortless highway cruise ability, dint worry too much about the city rides at least in Bangalore iv been doing fine, above 20kmph dosent show the weight much so all good, I'm currently half way through personalization of my dominar and I'm happy with how it turned put.Originally posted by Gowdaman View PostGuys, I am planning to upgrade my bike...Already owned rs200 and classic 350..I need a bike best for touring and daily commute..My choices are new dominar and duke 390..Personally I feel dominar is value for money and duke 390 just looks cool and raw power and has more problems in maintenance too...Can dominar 2019 owners can shed some light...Is new dominar is good in all aspects??

Any idea where in Bangalore I can check out a headlight riser kit for the dominar. Offline preferred and any recommendations or openions regarding the touring sprocket from lluvia please advise if it's worth it.
