Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Yes i have this similar looking bolt with cap, don't know if they have used the same or a different one but now it looks different without cap and it is ribbed allen bolt.Originally posted by faysal_khan View PostJune 2018 manufactured.
Ever dominar has a bolt at this place could be existing thing to hold the slider in place which is replaced by new one.

Ijs.. What do you suggest..Originally posted by ginzon View PostI am planning a Pune to Goa trip in mid of December and on my way back, I have multiple pit stops... Total kms (without leisure rides) is 1070kms..
My ODO now is at 3200kms approx.. I travel approx 36kms for my office (to n fro) and remaining days are 12, so round about 500 with a bit of here and there rides..
3700kms or say 4k kms (if I go for a Mumbai ride), will be my ODO reading before the trip... Should I get my 2nd servicing done before hand?

1. At times when you wash your bike, your breaks tend to make a squeaking noise..
2. Rubbing due to dirt that must have entered between the padding...
For,
1. Do nothing, It will get back to normal
2. Do nothing, It will get back to normal (Suggested by the SVC guys)(Otherwise they will remove the padding scrape it, as they did to mine, and I am really against it)

I would suggest after the ride … as total Km will be around 5000 on the ODO (service is recommended between 4450 to 5000). Just get the chain cleaned/lubed & tightened before the ride. I got my 2nd service done at 5200.

I second what Rituraj said, and i assume that the engine oil is only 3k something kms old , so it will easily last past 5k kms.Originally posted by ginzon View PostIjs.. What do you suggest..

But point here is that periodic service interval is 4500 to 5000kms for second service so do co ordinate with svc so that they won't lapse your second service.
Make sure the chain slack is good , go to the service center before ride and get the chain slack adjusted if needed and tell your sa that you will get the service done post your ride.
And after the ride get the service done with new oil , new airfilter and whatever is needed.

Clean the front disk/ rotor with wet cloth or with soap solution and see if it helps. And do make a habit to regularly clean the rotors.Originally posted by akshaysondkar View PostI have ridden the bike for almost 420 kms and i m getting a weird sound when i apply the fromt brakes its like(errr. And at 420kms means your service is due soon so get it done once you hit 500 kms do not wait for 750kms early service is good for new engine.

I will get it lubed and will check the slack too.. Will also lube back when I reach 500kms, during my stay..Originally posted by Rituraj_singh View PostI would suggest after the ride … as total Km will be around 5000 on the ODO (service is recommended between 4450 to 5000). The chain slack is impacted due to continuous rides? or how does it go about..?

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Chain slack adjustment depends on how you ride and what kind of road you rides, if you have habit of sudden acceleration and you constantly ride fast than it needs tending sooner and if the road you ride is full of potholes then too.Originally posted by ginzon View PostI will get it lubed and will check the slack too.. If you ride like i do, means i always accelerate in gradual manner , no sudden rise and low in rpm and speed and i also take care for potholes and bumps by slowing down and my chain slack remains good.
Last adjustment on ky chain is done after 5k kms.
I also avoid frequent cleaning , i jist wipe the chain properly before every time i lube.
A slightly lose chain is better than extra tight one.Last edited by Ijs; 11-28-2018, 05:02 AM.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hello All,
I would like to share my problem with my bike.
I Bought Dominar in October 2018. Only after couple hundred kms later the rear tyre started making some "chak chak" sound when I apply the rear brakes. The tyre makes noise only when the speed of the bike is less. Please note that the sound coming is very loud. Till now I have complete 1800 kms and done with the first service also but the sound still persists. I don't know If am able to explain properly, or else will try to make a short video and will share here.
Regards,
Rahul.Regards,
Rahul

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hello Everyone,
Was just wondering if anybody has installed tire hugger from either KTM or pulsars..have been thinking about the best fit for Domi..will be getting the tail tidy done & installing the number plate on the tire hugger itself..
Plz suggest which one will be the best fit?
