I believe you mean the exhaust expansion chamber/underbelly portion.Originally posted by saorabbh View Post

Oh man that is bad news for me. My pillion prefers smoother ride so just want to clarify it first, maybe can prefer higher side-wall tyres to increase ground clearance a bit.Originally posted by saorabbh View PostCat-con scraps more when you switch to softer side.
Also
If you go one step stiffer than stock setting bike feels taller for short riders. In soft setting, justice for shorties.
But personally I don't recommend you soft setting as mosnoshock bottoms out when ridden double seat. You can easily hear 'thud' sound almost everytime you hit the speedbreaker or deep potholes.BLR-RAMESWARAM-KODIAKANAL-BLR http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/tourer/3...ing-hills.html

Yes. The ride is smoother no doubt but big height speed breakers and potholes are the only issue here. Otherwise you don't feel it.Originally posted by msuthar25 View PostOh man that is bad news for me. I swapped my rear tyre with Metzler tourance which is taller compared to stock MRFs so I got lil room.
But again increased tyre size will affect short riders.
I've experienced both of these issues. [emoji23]
Trust me. I borrowed my friend's Domi (she's too short for the bike) it was all stock. I fitted all aux lights swapped all the rubber with Metzlers fitted handle bar risers and what not and made it almost perfect tourer. When I returned the bike she was like what have you done? I just put the rear monoshock on one step stiffer. And then she couldn't able to touch the ground.
So this is the biggest issue for the short riders.
She then again put the setup(rear shock and tyres) back to stock."The Answer, My Friend,

Yes but thing is today's bikes comes with external cat-con unit unlike old bikes. Nowadays the muffler is only there to produce various/unique exhaust note and the cat con is fitted somewhere between the exhaust port and muffler inlet. So what you're calling expansion chamber located below the engine of Dominar is actually catalytic converter unit which I would blame Bajaj for not doing any R&D to make it compact (of course this saves money)Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostI believe you mean the exhaust expansion chamber/underbelly portion.

Better ask in ABS discussion than Dominar Ownership thread. Dominar's ABS is standard dual channel unit whereas Apache 200 4V have something advanced dual channel ABS (New gen ABS unit –MAB100 HECU as they call it)Originally posted by akshaysondkar View PostCan anyone tell me the difference in dual channel abs brakes used on dominar as well as on new rtr 400v abs edition?Last edited by saorabbh; 09-27-2018, 09:28 PM."The Answer, My Friend,

And to all owning the Dominar, the rear suspension is really too stiff, even a small pothole sends message to my spine. How are things after making adjustments towards softer side?
In my experience, i find the suspension set up quite soft. In fact, contrary to a lot of opinions here about the front, i feel it is really really soft. I quite like it. Rear is a bit strange though, sometimes seems too wallowy, sometimes just about right.

Agree with you. Front is really soft. Rear however does confuse you a lot of time. Some potholes it would go through but in some it will just hit you hard and unexpectedly.Originally posted by Indivar View PostIn my experience, i find the suspension set up quite soft. Yes most of the time i really slow down just to avoid scrapping the Cat-Con at speed breakers.Originally posted by msuthar25 View PostAgree with you. Front is really soft. My rear suspension is set to moderate (between soft and hard). really wish there was a Main stand at the lowest level to protect every time this happens.
If suspension is at hard setting pillion will start shouting at each and every path hole

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
It could be the chain lube. You can get it washed and then there'll be clear indication if it's chain lube or oil.Originally posted by faysal_khan View PostHello guys.
I find oil below the area of front sprocket. Where the engine number is located and oil drainage bolt.
I believe it is from chain lube.... Can anyone confirm it?Regards,

If its chain lube i feel you should not seen it post 2 days(20-25 kms of run is enough), as it would have thrown excess lube in it.Originally posted by faysal_khan View PostHello guys.

If u still find it after that its better you react to it.
But before please ensure right amount of oil in engine and then ride until your sure about it.

Engine oil level is perfect. It's not great oil. It's really thick and stuck onto case. I am almost sure it is lube....Originally posted by Arjunachu View PostIf its chain lube i feel you should not seen it post 2 days(20-25 kms of run is enough), as it would have thrown excess lube in it.

Yes your right stuck to the case seems to be quality of chain lube not engine oil.Originally posted by faysal_khan View PostEngine oil level is perfect. It's not great oil. It's really thick and stuck onto case. I am almost sure it is lube....
