Now that you are taking her to service center again.. ask them what is this deal. I smelt all sorts of fumes till the first service was done. Continued issues should not be ignored.
Low end performance has seen 3.2% increase with the new update. Now the bike can pull from 13kmph to second gear without knocking.
But you haven't ridden it enough to know the difference. So just go with like it never happened.

      Thanks for the reply
He told me that the device has not been updated yet and took my number telling he will send me a message once the device is updated.
And I asked him about the fumes
He said that it might be the chain spray or some oil that had leaked during oil change

I know it was pointless but then again.. we mango people will have to go to them eventually. Bajaj will never understand the importance of customer service. Even if they start selling a ₹5 lakh bike.

That's a regular answer and it's not wrong. I am quite sure they would have responded to the first report in a very urgent manner. Dominar is their flagship model and Bajaj is very careful about handling their flagship bikes. They would have seen/addressed similar issues/reports many times and hence it would be their regular response.

I recently noticed that gear is clunking and making a loud thud sound when I put in 1st gear from neutral or from 2nd when running. Has anyone faced such issue ? Do I need to adjust the clutch cable ?

It is normal first gear thud or clunk would remain there.

i have done around 2000 kms on my domi, done 1st service at 600 km and the second service is recommended at 5000km according owner's manual which i think is a very long interval. please suggest me should i change the oil around 2500 km and service the bike? or just do a oil top up as per the owner's manual? also i am considering to opt for motul 300v however it comes in 15w50 grade as far as i am aware, is it safe? or should i just go for motul 10w50 7100 fully synthetic? if anyone have used motul 7100 please share your experience.
Use dtsi 10000 and top-up in second servicing. Change oil if u wish to. It's fully synthetic.

                        Hello,

I am planning to buy a bike, currently owning CB Twister(6 years) and Splendor (2 years). After narrowing all the options, I am planning to upgrade to either FZ 25 or Dominar 400, I have been going through Ownership threads of both bikes since few months. I am buying mainly for everyday commuting and weekend/Occasional touring purpose. Main concerns are ride experience, reliability, fuel efficiency and maintenance...

                        so my queries:

                        FZ 25:

Is ABS very necessary for person like me upgrading from 110CC engine?

Headlights: What to do about the issue?

Vibrations: Would it affect me considering twister which has a great refined engine till i hit high speeds (>90)?

Reliability and maintenance :I know yamaha is reliable, but i see engine replacements, weird noises and maintenance issues for this particular bike..!

                        Dominar 400:

Weight: 80+kgs bump compared to Twister, will it affect me a lot?

Fuel efficiency: The claimed mileage is 35, but 3 of my college mates who own it told it hardly crosses 25kmpl in real time conditions.. i am worried!
(atleast 28-30 kmpl would be okay)

maintenance: Bajaj doesn't have a great service record nor the bikes are not very reliable, Is it the same for Dominar?

Vibrations : question same as for FZ 25

                        considered 200 4V, opted out because FZ 25 is a better choice(right?)
                        Any other options also welcome....

It is a personal choice. I've had horrible experience with Honda and superb with Bajaj. It is a myth that Bajaj bikes are not reliable. They might be crude, but if the owner is negligent, even a Yamaha or Honda might turn out to be useless.
It is a crime to expect big fuel efficiency numbers from a 350+cc engine with this kind of specs. It's all about feeling good with the bike. Take a test ride of Dominar, FZ25 and even RTR2004V. Whatever strikes a chord with your heart, buy that.

Indeed! Every machine has its own potentials and the owner should understand that!
Bajaj/Honda/TVS/Yamaha all have there very own characteristics, but I doubt only one brand i.e. RE.

BTW my personal fav is RTR 2004V, but I own a CBR which is also another fav of mine.

Xeo, ABS will be your friend especially if you are not used to entry level performance motorcycles. And your friend can save your life since you are riding an entry level commuter for long time now. You will be used to lot of practices on these motorcycles which when repeated on entry level performance motorcycles can eat you. Literally.
