But if need only engine performance then FZ is sufficient if you say 90% city commuting ( for that matter you dont even need FZ25) .
For me i prefer complete riding experience rather than engine performance alone, so my choice would be D250 regardless of city or highway usage.

If you are satisfied with FZ itself then no need to spend extra money. All i was saying is simply we cant say FZ is VFM while D250 is over priced.
have you ridden both fz and duke? fz handles like a dream. in city its close to duke 200 in terms of flickability. seriously in case of fz its ride it to believe it. in city only fz is all you need.

duke 390 is still the king i would say. its the only bike that had me giggling like a child.

with all that said i am considering all these 3 bikes (250, 390 and fz) and currently leaning towards duke 250.

duke and fz both are equal on all counts. its just that duke has maybe 10% extra to give at the very edge of handling capability. am coming from r15 and value that extra somewhat. maybe i will pay that price difference to have it. not sure yet.

that said if sport riding doesnt interest you and you are touring guy, i recommend fz. this i say after extensively riding it.

Duke250 will offer the much appreciated flickabilty of duke390 and won't loose steam like FZ25 post 110-115kmph.
Other adv of Duke250 is you can ride at higher revs, engine won't complain thanks to 6th gear and liquid cooling.
Duke250 is a happy bike to hit revlimiter in 6th gear and as mentioned dynamics will be better.

          Same here it doesnt work..

I guess. DRL are the LED strips around the head light.. the center one which is always on should be address as Always on Head Lamp... or Automatic Head Lamp on in the case of DUke 390..

Afaik D250 won't hit revlimitter in 6th, it reaches 161kmph with still lots of revs left.

Edit: it's 159kmph had seen the below video before and thought it's 161. But once I searched for the video again came to know that it's 159.

I agree with you that one needs to ride the fz25 to know what it feels like. On paper it may sound lame but in reality its a superb value for money.

I owned a duke 200 for 3 years and now been without a bike for 2 years. At 36 i am no where close to a sports rider.

it does those speeds? any other proof besides that video? most of the other sites are claiming around 140 kmph.

i am trying to justify duke 250. if it does those speeds then spending extra will be justified. i am wondering where those extra bhps went. a 30 bhp 160 kg bike should do 0-100 kmph in 7 sec range. but instead its timings are in range of cbr250r and fz apparently.

Other than that video even I don't have any reference. . Even I wasn't satisfied with it's performance for the power figure it offers hence cancelled it. But after seeing this video realized that the final gear is really tall like r15.

I found this on a review site and this seems to be how the LED strip and DRL work.

From the video it does touch 159.. but 150 is the limit for Duke 250 i guess..not more than that(even duke 390 is not capable of doing 165kmph..it will show in speedo but thats not the real speed).. it seems like after 150 he is going through kind of slop/downhill so bike gaining speed to 159..

Not to mentioned its speedo indicated speed.. speedo error is 100%there in every single bike out there.. what ever we see on speedo is not exact speed..

If i am not wrong even pulsar 200 NS would do 150+ as per speedo which is more faster than duke 200, despite its engine is copy cat of duke 200.. KTM bike's top speeds are electronically restricted..unlike bajaj which is free flow.. thats the reason 200NS top speed is more than Duke200..

That explain how it actually works with our Duke's thanks for it bro..

How ever i am still confused, is it how really it is supposed work..?

in new D390.. when we put the ignition key and twist itself making the DRL+brake lights on.. i am ok the DRL's are on but why the brake lights also ON?? is it also for safety reason?? if we miss the keys in bike itself and leave then guess it will drain the battery and screw nicely..

as of now i dont care about any electrical issues.. engine is awesome compared to previous version..

However i have 2 issues with the bike where one is related to headlight only(i dont care though but will check in service center when possible)

                              1. Low beam headlight is not enough for night riding despite much hyped LED thing

                              2. when ever apply brake "creech" sound coming from front disc. guess the culprit is sintered pads.. i have already mentioned this when i posted few weeks back about hard braking and ABS kicking in... now after riding it in 2 hour rain..it is very much audible..even in parking lot.. when i apply brake under 10 kmph..it gives the irritating sound like goods truck..

Definitely not actual speed..as other site's or reviewers claim.. true speed should be between 145-150..
