    Hi Guys,

I got my beast delivered on Last Friday. I have few questions .

    1) Does it comes with an engine immobilizer?. If not can we install an after market one?.
    2) Can someone help me identify the must have accessories for touring purposes that emphasize on safety side?. Do things like swing arm protectors, front fork protectors, engine guards, radiator guards and windshield top the list?. Also where do I find such products from a reliable source (online or from any shop in Bengaluru). I have seen Swing Arm Sliders by Motofusion online. But is it okay for the 2017 model?.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Neeraj

      My Personal Touring List:

      - Handle bar Grips
      - Hazard lights
      - Fork Sliders
      - Thigh tank grips
      - Gel Seat
      - Windshield
      - Tail Bag, Saddle Bags & Tank bag.

so if I have to install windshield, I'll lose the numberplate, so I'm planning for a "benelli-style" number plate on the front mudguard.
also, a small "handle" type under the rear number plate, bolted to the frame, so that I can hook on the bungee of the saddle & tail bags..

the following are "if possible" and time & money permits.

      - aux lights
      - bashplate (the existing one is strong enough, but still if you want a metal)
      - ECU Upgrade
      - quickshifter

I wouldn't go for a swingarm slider. simple reason being that for your right, your silencer protects the swingarm and for the left side, your mudguard naturally protects the sides.

also, for swingarm sliders, you would have to lose the mudguard, unless the screws and bolts are designed to be applied at the spools spot (under the mudguard spots) but I don't see any benefits as the mudguard has an "extension" that protrudes out and does some level of protection.. but again, each to their own..

Any help would be much appreciated.

      Thanks & Regards,

Regarding my initial impression, every time I ride, it's a big grin, the munches miles very easily, coming from pulsar 220, the handle bar feels self balanced, don't feel any pressure on wrist and no red marked on the palm, the seat despite being soft, is not as cushy as my modified seat of pulsar, doubt with the height, there is any way to modify or add more pad to the seat, I think I am going to look for padded jeans to ride.

Took biwi for a ride today 1 hr, 60 Kim's, she finds it better that pulsar220

So no issues on pillion comfort and other stuff, have to explore ways to add a side bad or something and a rear grab rail for long term, long distance riding, but initially quite, 10 plus colleagues test rode the bike and everyone had a big grin after the ride

You have to send a mail to "[email protected]" with scanned copy of your invoice of bike and stating that you want to register for the app. They will register your mobile number and will also assign you a customer id which you will receive via message on your registered number. That customer id will be used for future services at SVC and will be your permanent id for all ktm related works.

Thanks brother, I am actually quite amazed with bajaj, it's not that you are leading the market share game or that you are the brand to reckon with, but look at the casual attitude, I didn't get a single sms acknowledging that I had bought a bike from them, no mail nothing, even if you a TV nowadays the company acknowledges, any no of times you try to reach them, their call center is busy and doesn't call back. All this when you are losing out to RE also, I mean their Dominar did not take off but look at the attitude, no wonder it's the same company that had full market to itself in Scooter, but lost it completely. I remember I had once bought a ertiga from Maruti and got stranded on highway, first of all the tollfree no got answered and in a hrs time they were able to provide support, here you are leaving your no on the call center and they do not bother to even call you back, that to when they are able to sell just 800-1000 bikes a month on the higher side. God knows how much paper was saved by not providing a simple owners manual on say some 2000 KTM bikes a month, and what is achieved by running such a pathetic back end. Sad on one side you are struggling for salesand on the other your customer service had so much attitude. Cheers to hamara Bajaj.

Uh, I didn't get any sms also. But why am sms? Sms is for service coupon codes that they use to track. You get a big card when you take the delivery if your bike that has almost all the important information you need at a glance. If you want more in-depth info, you can visit their online manual or download it. I've not seen this as an issue. What do you prefer? Cutting trees and making manuals that will lie neglected for the rest of its life in an oily and dusty place or an e-manual that you can keep in your phone and refer anytime you want?? I prefer the latter.

KTM has started work on new generation Duke 390. 2020 KTM Duke 390 has just been spied, with a larger engine, bigger size and BS6 engine.

Why do I have a feeling that it's due to the "2 second lights off" issue and that timed with a bad patch on the road?

                      RIP fellow rider....

Maybe,, but when we are riding and lights go off suddenly, our instincts are to slow down the bike and we would gain control unless we are way beyond the controllable speed

Being in Pune and crossed that exact place 100s of times, I know a lot of bikers try to corner the turn there, at nights especially. Not to be disrespectful to the deceased(RIP), in my opinion this happened solely because most people overestimate their bike's capabilities.

ABS or no ABS, when you ride like there's no tomorrow, there won't probably be.

                          Regards.

I read that there was hump near the corner due to which bike got unbalanced.

I would say demanding ABS, we should more focus on good riding habits.

There are humps(those are bridge joints) all over that flyover (and on other major flyovers as well).

Owing to the light weight of the bike (compared to, say, a Dominar or an Enfield) is there a tendency of the bike to "fly" in the air or get flung when at reasonably high speed (like 80-90kmph) over a bump or hump.
There are undulations and gradients in the highway when traveling from Mumbai to Vapi (for example). Does the bike tend to "take off" due to the light weight when going fast? Landing upright may be a big issue and will most likely result in a spill.
