There are numerous reviews out there both in the domestic as well as international markets. All the reviews that the 390 received were positive, with most of the reviewers giving it an almost perfect 10/10 score. My experience with it has been mixed at best.

Before i begin, this is entirely my personal opinion and whatever I mention here is what I have faced owning the 390 till now. There is no bias or hate towards the brand in any way. I love my ride to the core.

Well if you have read my blog, THE DILEMMA: FIRST POST, MY RIDES & THE INTRO , you would know my vehicle history and how I ended up buying the 390.

Well that's done, lets dive into the heart of the matter.
Welcome to the boards and disappointed by the list of problems you've faced already. If you aren't satisfied with the work that the SVC guys are performing on your motorcycle, you can always shoot an email, KTM customer support email ID found on their website that way things work at a rapid pace. Now, coming to your engine oil leak, I guess it has to do with a microscopic or fine crack in the casing during casting and what not. No amount of paste is a permanent fix, as the SVC did, it's always advisable to replace the casing with a brand new one. I would definitely recommend you to go the warranty way to get your defective casing replaced on a proactive basis.

Inspect your bike with other bikes, if you feel your handlebar is bent. Secondly, this will definitely take a toll on you riding joy, putting counterpressure on a handlebar only robs the rider of the joy and puts undue stress on the arms and what not. Replace the bar if bent, it your bar is not bent, check the tightness of the T stem and adjust accordingly.

    • ECU failure
    • Drop in Coolant level
    • Low oil pressure
    • ABS failure

He had to courier the bike back to Raipur. Previously he had RC200.
What could be the reason for these massive failures.
It's very, very hard to pinpoint the root causes for such multiple failures Chandan. Though to some questions, you can get the answers in our thread going back a few pages. It's like a patient with stroke coupled with heart attack and a kidney failure at the same time. If you ask a doctor how, all can happen at one instance or back to back, it's impossible for anyone to answer unless the patient is thoroughly examined. So, it'd be great if you can follow up with him and update the status quo. Definitely a bad failure to say the least.

    All the best

    Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

I am following the thread since starting (being ex 390 owner), before going to leh his bike's headlight unit and display was changed. Latest software was updated. All things were going good but just 150 kms before leh bike died giving multiple warnings.

I know that these warnings come up in new 390 but never heard of bike completely stalling and refusing to start again.

Buddy. I've read your post. But I really don't have anything to say. I guess it's either a badly abused bike OR badly maintained or one odd of the case.

Surprisingly, 90% of the new 390's out there have a leak at that exact same spot which makes me think that Bajaj isn't producing well machined engine casings? Mine for some reason doesn't and I haven't washed the bike for a very very long time.

Badly abused? Are you for real? The damn bike has just come out a few months ago. Some of the new KTM's are just plagued with S/W issues and the fix isn't coming soon enough as KTM promised. All the errors he specified are software issues. Even the oil pressure error is a bug which shows up in a lot of new 390's because some vendor screwed up and supplied bad oil pressure switch sensors.

Edit: my phone's Bluetooth will always be kept on.

Also can anybody suggest a chain lube that doesn't spray on the se*y alloys, read there's some greasy type lube but don't know exactly which one
            Hi.
I have a stock OnePlus 3. Like you said, it doesn't connect to the Bluetooth by default. Forcefully I've to make it connect to the display. However once connected, I'm able to view caller ID and play music. Music however does not display on the console but just shows zeros for all the tracks. No display of title or nothing.

90%, I thinks that's a stretch, look there are issues and they are being addressed, but feeling so bad will not help

He said "or", don't get me wrong but reading your post as B7ACKTHORN said it's very difficult to contribute as the information is so less, do post in detail and I am sure seniors will be able to help, and these things happen all the time, relax the bike is in warranty, get is fixed and it should be fine.

This is my 27th or 28th year of motorcycle riding, my 4th bike, all I can say is that there is no perfect, near to perfect is a Japanese bike, like a well groomed wife from a high family, out there to look after you, but is that what you want, this bike is a aggressive bike, for all those like me who wanted to own a RD350 this is their chance to come close to owning a RD, it has niggles, but that was true with RD also, relax my friend post your thoughts in detail and I am sure there will be help

Buddy, bike was one month old. Bike was neither badly abused not badly maintained. His last bike was RC200 which he owned for around 2.5 years which gave him no major problems like this and never got stuck like this.

Current status is his bike is still in transit, as soon as bike reaches raipur, it will be directly shifted to service centre.

But I feel it's the MID which is causing these issues.

The console restarted today think I lost about 10 to 15kms on the odo, this is the 3rd time the console restarted in 12days of ownership and I observed the odo only this time.

It happened with me twice and on account of trying to pair the phone on bluetooth, since then I have switched off the Bluetooth and have been riding as if the bike has no Bluetooth connectivity

All these problems with new Duke! I am having second thoughts about the bike. 8 years of my Electra and never faced a single issue. I really like new Duke but What I am looking for is a reliable bike, hope these problems will get fixed soon till then I'll put it on a hold to sell my Electra and book Duke 390.

Man all these problems can be taken care off, I own this bike since april and trust me this machine gives u smile on ur face every time u take it out, for the price what ur getting is a real good product, I had issues with Headlight which was taken care off with the new update, I don't have any issues now, and the reponse u get if u shoot a mail to KTM is quick and they address ur issue promptly. All I want to say is don't worry much, rest is ur call.

That's really good to hear.I have already made up my mind about getting this bike in near future. I was worried about those problems because I read and even Showroom person told me that tft console costs more than 20k.
Eager to get test ride. Thanks.

One of the best bike in terms of power, affordability, tech, handling, headturns and what not. All the issues surfaced till now have been very basic and stupid software bugs. Don't know which lame ass, lazy developers built this program and also how could such be approved from KTM 🤦 for international market.

Yes I agree all this till you don't sit on the saddle, as soon as start riding, big grin, its like a catapult, just aim at any vehicle in front, turn your wrist and the vehicle is appearing in your rear view

                              • Ktm duke 390 2017 chain noise

My duke 390 2017 model is making cracking kind of noise on low speed in second gear even after tightening the chain. Service centre guys are saying its normal but I doubt there is some misalignment in the sprockets which also services centre guys said is perfectly aligned. Can anyone help me on this. I do lubricate chain properly every 300-500kms range.
