What do you'll think? Have you'll been able to hit higher speeds (then maybe its just my bike ) Let me know. Might be interesting.
Interesting topic. The difference in top speeds does seem strange, considering they cut a teeth in the rear sprocket for higher top speed, from 45 to 44. So ideally, the difference shouldnt be that much. Not sure if the additional 10 kg makes that much of a difference.

I am still running in so cant comment on top speeds yet, hopefully by the end of month if I find a clear enough stretch.

Hi all, what is the latest firmware version ?
      Mine is 5V39
Today, I experienced ECU failure issue for the first time while waiting at Traffic signal. I turned off engine using kill switch but when I tried to ignite the engine console showed ECU failure.

Did the bike start with the ECU failure or did you have to tow it?

Looking to buy the Duke 390. Just had a few questions:
            1. Can I expect a mileage of 25 - 30 kmpl if I drive under 100 kmph? I will be doing a mix of city (around 45%) and highway (around 55%) between my house and my office (a total of 60 kms per day)
            2. The test bike that I drove did not inspire confidence in the rear brake. Am I supposed to rely only on the front brakes?
            3. What self-service do I need to know and do for the bike in between services?

            Regards,
            Jagdish Shenoy
I myself own a 2016 Duke 390 and I ride 84 kms daily to and fro. 90% is open highway so I don't feel any kind of heat whatsoever and getting a fuel efficiency of 33-34 kmpl everyday with riding on speeds of 85-90 kmph mostly.
I avoid self servicing of the bike and do basic maintainance which is cleaning and lubing the chain every 500-600 kms, depending on your riding conditions and environment.

Happen sometimes (Mostly when the engine temps are high and the fan is on) when you turn the kill switch on and off before 20 sec and try to ignite.

If u give the 20-30 sec breather, it doesn't happen.

You can see the youtube video over the issue :

Another interesting encounter, today when I started the bike to leave for office, I saw white smoke with burnt smell coming out right beneath radiator and somewhere near exhaust pipe curve. Prior to that 2 days back I saw few splash of oil on the left side of my engine. I took the bike SVC for a quick check up and a service engineer told that it is probably because of engine pressure. He confirmed me If it happens again do let us know. And then yesterday I also got ECU failure warning for the first time. Is there something to worry ?

Don't worry about the ECU failure bit. Its fairly common and disappears if you switch off the bike (via key) and switch it on again.

The oil on your left side is kind of weird. If it was on the right, it would have likely been the oil filter because of a broken seal. I'm not sure why it would leak on the left side.
Do a check of your engine head near the gasket and spark plug to find the source. Also check your belly pan as well. Either way, this is definitely not related to the ECU failure message you're seeing. That's more of a software issue than a hardware one.

It is common, the radiator fan starts once the engine reaches certain temperature limit and it will automatically switch off once the temperature comes down. 4 blocks is standard and indicates engine at optimum temperature.

Yea. That's when the radiator fan is set to start. You'd want the engine to always stay at it's optimum running temperature (not too hot or too cool). I'm guessing that the 4 bars point is where the KTM engineers want the engine temp to stay at.

Hi guys, not a Duke 390 owner, a friend here in Kenya is. His bike got a transport lock a few days ago and has been unable to clear it. It just shows transport lock on a yellow background on screen top left.

The local KTM dealer has been unable to clear it using the standard diagnostic tool.

What causes this error and how is it fixed.
