Nothing to be alarmed per se. You can top up with 5100 it being semi synthetic.Originally posted by oldman View PostGuys is there a worry if I top up the engine say 100 ml with motul 5100 as the oil level is looking low and the service is still not due or should I necessarily find the 7100 to top up

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

No need to worry, the small amount of mix oil is better than low oil or no oil - most of the upgraded oils are backward compatible but do not make this a regular practice.Originally posted by oldman View PostGuys is there a worry if I top up the engine say 100 ml with motul 5100 as the oil level is looking low and the service is still not due or should I necessarily find the 7100 to top up

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
My brother is buying duke 390 by next week but he is bothered that the bike he will be getting would be new or an test-drive vehicle because when he took test drive of the duke its speedometer was turned off and the showroom guys don't have any specific test ride vehicle with number plate. When he told the showroom guy that he will choose his bike from the godown he told him that they don't have any stock of the duke 390 only single bike arrives when booked and that directly means that the bike which he test roded was someone's booked machine. Is there anything which can differentiate between a fresh bike and an used bike please help!

not sure how the speedo can be "disconnected" but he can be alerted to know that he be present at the time of unloading the vehicle or he isn't taking it.. and delivery immediately after unloading.. that's the max you can do...Originally posted by harshil3604 View PostMy brother is buying duke 390 by next week but he is bothered that the bike he will be getting would be new or an test-drive vehicle because when he took test drive of the duke its speedometer was turned off and the showroom guys don't have any specific test ride vehicle with number plate. Removing the ABS sensor wires will lead to meter showing no readings. You can check if its removed. But still the kms will be clocked in ECU. The mech can find how much it has run by connecting the machine to the diagnostic tool. I dont think they will show you that, but you can try. Also look closely at the tyre threads to see if its run or not.Originally posted by harshil3604 View PostMy brother is buying duke 390 by next week but he is bothered that the bike he will be getting would be new or an test-drive vehicle because when he took test drive of the duke its speedometer was turned off and the showroom guys don't have any specific test ride vehicle with number plate. Check for wear and tear of tires, foot rest and hand grips. You can easily differentiate between old and new.Originally posted by harshil3604 View PostMy brother is buying duke 390 by next week but he is bothered that the bike he will be getting would be new or an test-drive vehicle because when he took test drive of the duke its speedometer was turned off and the showroom guys don't have any specific test ride vehicle with number plate. Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Easiest way is to just click a pic of the VIN or the engine/chassis number of the test ride vehicle and compare it with the bike which is delivered. Its a fool proof method. If the bike which is being delivered is brand new, then the numbers shouldn't match. Enjoy the ride !Originally posted by harshil3604 View PostMy brother is buying duke 390 by next week but he is bothered that the bike he will be getting would be new or an test-drive vehicle because when he took test drive of the duke its speedometer was turned off and the showroom guys don't have any specific test ride vehicle with number plate. Always note the VIN of your motorcycle (in case you've chosen) and if you're unsure about the motorcycle you are getting, take a photo of the VIN number stamped on the side of the headstock of the bike, in that way you can differentiate which motorcycle you are getting.Originally posted by harshil3604 View PostMy brother is buying duke 390 by next week but he is bothered that the bike he will be getting would be new or an test-drive vehicle because when he took test drive of the duke its speedometer was turned off and the showroom guys don't have any specific test ride vehicle with number plate. You're right, Ivin. What's interesting is also the fact that the actual KM recorded in the ECU differs from the actual ODO shown in the speedo, the ECU always shows lesser kms than the ODO. But, for the ECU to record speed, the front wheel sensor should be installed and live. If it pins are disconnected, the ECU doesn't record any speed and the ABS unit doesn't work either. Throws up ABS error.Originally posted by Ivin View PostRemoving the ABS sensor wires will lead to meter showing no readings. You can check if its removed. But still the kms will be clocked in ECU. Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi Guys,
I am planning for a new ride so i have few Q it would of great help if you can help me out.
1. How flick-able is duke in city traffic.
2. I would be taking it daily for my office and occasional tours with pillion so i would say 70% city and 30% touring.
My options are Duke 390, Dominar & TB 500 or classic.
Also whats the maintenance cost for duke on long run, i mean brake pads, sproket etc. as they are more in use.
Kindly give your views.

From all if the given options, the Duke is the most agile of them all. Maintenance cost, AFAIK, is lower than RE. Dunno the exact costs.Originally posted by Racing_axel View PostHi Guys,

It is very flickable thanks to the light weight, well distributed CoG and grippy tyres. I use it for daily commute. Sometimes in stop and go traffic. Heats up pretty bad thoughOriginally posted by Racing_axel View PostHi Guys,

Other than that, it's great. Have completed about 1400kms so far with few niggles, but no issues. Perfect bike for the city. Long term costs I can tell only in the long term. But please stay away from TB 500. I had that prior to Duke. Faced lots of issues. Was visiting service center almost once in 2 weeks regularly.
