Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Whoa! I guess the folks at Langford are giving me a higher estimate. Gonna have some words with them. Banashankari KTM is quite convenient for me, being less than 2 km from my house, but I have to go to Langford anyway to get my number plates. So thought I might as well get it done there.Originally posted by abhiiceman View PostGo to ktm autoservice Banashankari. there I got it done for 2k.
In other news, I've completed around 100 km so far, almost entirely through city riding. Looking forward to taking the girl out on a highway ride soon...

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I'm sorry but I saw the part in the spare parts finder, not the service manual.Originally posted by scapeghost View PostMy bike is six months old now and the same part fell off in the first month of ownership. It is marked 'BKT TUBE DRAIN JG 11 3816 01'. Notice the '01' at the end instead of the '02' as on yours. I am yet to check with the service guys about reinstalling it but it hasn't hampered anything that I know of. My Odo is 5k+ BTW I have seen/heard at least a couple of more owners talk about this part falling off.
Also, Its great to see the service manual, is it possible for you to post it here?
If the service manual comes to my hands I' ll post it

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I got my bike serviced last week at KTM Banshankari. Odo was at 6000kms. The SC have changed the front brake pads stating that it was worn out and it has been replaced with the non sintered ones. They claim that the Sintered brake pads are not sent by KTM anymore since it is expensive (₹3800) and owners are complaining about the noise it generates. Any info on this?
My brake bite is much lesser with non sintered pads as compared to sintered pads.

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Apparently autoservice banashankari does not receive spares from ktm anymore. They are listed as a bajaj asc and not as a ktm asc internally. So getting ktm spares for them is a huge headache. Bajaj and ktm have internal codes for their dealerships and autoservice has been listed under bajaj. This is word on the street.Originally posted by nikhn View PostI got my bike serviced last week at KTM Banshankari. Odo was at 6000kms. Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi. This was not autoservice. This was the KTM SC near Hoskerehalli signal. They seem to not stock any spares. Every time I go for spares, they say it's still in the way from factory. Customer service of KTM has deteriorated for sure. They just seem to forward the complaint mails to the SC without even checking whether the complaint has been closed satisfactorily or not.Originally posted by red liner View PostApparently autoservice banashankari does not receive spares from ktm anymore. I am too confused about this. The manual just shows the kms and not the service interval in terms of time.Originally posted by nikkswest View PostHey Guys,
Is the service interval 7500kms / 6-Months or is it 7500Kms / 1-Year ??
The service schedule sheet gives a feeling its 7500Kms/1-Year.
The console shows the 2nd service scheduled after 1 year.

Hi Guys
I have been a silent reader of this thread since along time. I am planning to upgrade to a higher capacity motorcycle. I have shortlisted three of them and I am confused between them.
1: Benelli 300 ABS
2: 2017 DUKE 390
3: DOMINAR 400
Service cost are on the higher side for benelli and the headlight design spoils the otherwise beautiful looks of this bike.
I found duke 390 to have lots of issues after following this thread. Radiator coolant leaking into engine oil is a major one. Water seeping into LCD console is another issue that I am concerned of.
Dominar has vibration issues, panel gaps and does not give the feel of power as seen on paper.
Do you guys have any suggestions. Which would be a good choice. Especially the current Duke 390 owners. Do you guys think there is a quality issue with current duke 390 models?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks guys...::<<Never ride faster than your guardian angel can fly>>::.

Benelli 300 is heavy bike, less low end torque and service and spare costs are higher. Service intervals are less. It takes lot of cornering effort in ghats.Originally posted by spacetech View Post

Duke 390 have issues, you can wait till 4 to 5 months, KTM may fix the issue. Again it's based on luck.
Dominar is heavy bike compared to Duke and have less issues, panel vibrations can fixed. Exhaust is mounted low, scrape in cornering. If t's okay good to go with the dominar.

Yes I am aware of the less low end torque but its spread over a wider rev range. Service and spare costs are the main thing that's keeping me away from it. Otherwise when it comes to looks the parallel twin engine and overall design (except the headlight and speedo console) is best in class. But again looks are subjective ☺️. Weight and seat height is not an issue for me.
Anyways not in a hurry and as you suggested I am ready to wait for some more months before finalizing. Let's see if KTM sorts out all the quality issues with the Duke 390.
Dominar would be my last choice after KTM. Hope the Ninja 400 doesn't show up soon else I would be tempted to stretch my budget 😂..::<<Never ride faster than your guardian angel can fly>>::.
