I'm one step away from taking the beauty.
In few days (or tomorrow) I'll be riding it.

Do you know if KTM plans to make an update so we can see the navigation map from our mobile to the screen, using My Ride?

I need only that metal part - bracket.
I am trying to get it from service, but it is absolute hopelessly.
Every time they try to sell me old one for duke..2016 model, then
EVERY time literally they are telling me that in they catalogue both – new and old
have the same number and dealer every time sent them old.
I do not believe them, I know how people work. After a month they will tell me
      the same bullsh*t.
I assume you own the 2017 model. If so, then ask the svc to fit the new rear hugger (which they are trying to sell to you) on your bike. That way you will know if it indeed is the same or direct fit on the 2017 & 2016. If it does fit then buy it otherwise ask them to order the correct one.

        Hey Guys,

I have noticed recently that the radiator fan sounds are a little less louder, this has coincided with the ODO reading 3500 and the coolant levels almost reaching the minimum mark.

Can this variation of fan sound be caused by the reduced level of coolant or is it because of any thing else ? has anyone noticed this behaviour?
Is the coolant drain level okay (3500 and almost min level of coolant) ?

However, I am not sure if this would void the warranty as these are not recommended. Is it okay if I go for any one of the oils, or should I refrain from doing so and just stick to the recommended oil...:-/
Don't go in for the 300v. Stick to the motul 7100. You could also use the Shell Advance Ultra 15w50. They cannot tell you (though they will) that you cannot use it/warranty will be void.. because it meets the standard specified. In fact if you look closer , then it is the Shell that meets their '15w50' requirement.. whereas the motul only comes in 10w50 or 20w50
You just need to be polite, and if they behave unprofessional/rude then shoot an email to bajaj/ktm explaining the situation.

I own the 200, and have been using the 7100 the past 3yrs , wonderful oil. It's been thru shitty traffic and constant highway rides and held up easily for 5000km change intervals without any leaks, oil loss, performance issues. Total paisa vasool oil.. even more so if you pick it up online at a discounted rate (less than 700rs. on Amazon)

I recently picked up the Shell advance ultra 15w50 and will be using it shortly, just to experiment (i have been a happy user of shell on my other bikes). The 300v i do not recommend (and iirc even ktm has asked svc's to stop using it).. it was known to cause oil leaks and I've seen plenty such cases myself on the older 390's (2014/2015), and 300v was developed for racing (i.e. shorter drain intervals and a totally different use case scenario). when 7100 does a wonderful job why spend the significant extra moolah just because of some fancy marketing/hype.

Check the color of the oil.. if it appears grey/milky it indicates a problem... If not Top up the coolant to the max level.. and then keep an eye on it. It doesn't come filled to max capacity from the factory.. so after a few km you will see the radiator suck in some coolant, and once you top it up it should be around the max and shouldn't drop. (it may go up or down a wee bit.. that's just how the cooling system works.. it pushes some coolant back in to the plastic tank when the pressure goes beyond a certain level and sucks its back in once the pressure drops)

If you see it drop again (i.e. goes to min), then it might indicate a problem (head gasket leak, water pump seal failure). So keep an eye on the coolant level and the oil color. Usually one top up is enough in most cases. You could just add some water to top it off for now.

Not sure about the 2017 models.. but the older ones, the fan runs a little slow when the headlight is on and bike at idle and spins up faster when the headlight is off.. noticeable from the sound it makes.

            Hey thanks,

I dont see the engine oil color change, its still the dark maroon color.
When the fan sound changed then checked the coolant levels (bike upright) figured out that the coolant levels were just above the minimum mark. I will do a coolant top up for now and keep an eye on it.

              Yes, I have Duke 2017.
They haven't it in the stock.
They are telling me bull**t for more then 2 months.
I am sure that they always forgot about it immediately after I left service center.
I am quite sure that I will hear the same story next time.
Old model doesn't fit. New one is slightly different.
I think I will find some used before KTM service people will wake up from long sleep.
              Who will kiss sleeping beauties?
They told four wheels were better then two.
              So, I bought another motorcycle!

                Hi All,

Its time for the second service of my bike (150 days) but, I have hardly done 3500kms. Im wondering what I should do !
                - Should I get it serviced early.. full second service checks ?
                - Ignore this "free" service and get it serviced at 6000kms ?
                - Just do a check up of liquids, nuts, bolts, chain and other stuffs this time and later get the bike completely serviced at 6k ?

Please let me know your thoughts.

                Thanks.

That depends on your use of the bike.

As long you're using the bike regularly, it should be fine extending your service interval. The period limit of 6 months (or 150 days) is mostly for the oil as it tends to degrade over time. If you're using fully synthetic oil (which would be the Motul 7100 oil that the SVC would've put during the 1st service), then you can extend your service interval much longer.

Its your choice if you want to get a minor check up done, but there's no danger even if you hold off for a while.

Just as an FYI, according to the manual your second service should happen at 7.5k not 6k.

If you don't take it in for the service within the specified intervals, you stand to lose the warranty.
So just for the sake of warranty take it in for service. Get the oil and oil filter changed and an inspection of the rest of the stuff (usual wash and chain adjustment/lube)
I think you can skip the air and fuel filter replacement and get it done at the next service.

If you do not care about warranty, then skip it and get it done after another 3 months or at 6000kms whichever earlier.

Hi everyone, I am looking to upgrade to Duke 390 from Yamaha R15. I haven't booked it yet but they told me that delivery would take 5 days at Chembur (Mumbai) showroom as they have bikes in stock. Just want to know what are the current delivery time frame across other showroom as I do not wish to have an old stock. How can I identify if it is an old stock?

My headlamp is shaking[emoji85].. out of no where I started hearing some vibrating noise from the front and when I showed to the mechanics as usual they said no sir there is no unusual noise.
Then after a week or so tried to figure out the issue my sekf, hold the headlamp heat sink while riding and the noise stopped [emoji1]. Then when I checked it properly observed that headlamp is loose from the bottom and can literally shake the the thing from below. Couldn't find the screw to tighten it from behind so have been riding as it is as im not able to go to service centre.

                          Hello Everyone,

I have clocked 4K KMs so far without any major issues (except headlight flickering sometimes)

From last 1 week I had been noticing, the radiator fan speed is low (can measure from the humming sound coming from it ) at the start and it increases (sound & speed) after few KMs of riding.

Last Wednesday, while riding I suddenly noticed that coolant temperature bar has reached maximum and console is flashing a red alert.
I immediately stopped the bike and switched off the engine to let her cool down. After 20 mins, I restarted and thought of going home in Low RPM.
However, this time after approx 2 KM somehow fan started (gradually low to high speed) and bike was doing fine.

Today again, it happened 2nd time while riding to work, fan did not start at cut off temp bar followed by flashing red alert.
Again switched off the bike for 15-20 mins and fan started working again.
I took her to SVC today and explained the issue.

Awaiting their response! Will keep everyone posted if I have any update.

Has anyone else faced similar issue? What could be the possible root cause (fan/sensor/thermostat)?

Any suggestion would be really helpful!

If the fan is not started after the 4bars then try to rotate the fans with a stick or something and if it starts rotating then the fan has gone kaput and they will change it under warranty. I faced the same issue when ever it didn't start after the 4bars I used to search a stick on the road and rotate it,problem is I only used to notice that when there was a red bar on the console and wouldn't notice the temp bar till then. finally after few weeks it completely stopped and only then I made the time to leave it to the showroom.
