Procedure to connect..
1. Open the Ktm My ride App and bluetooth...
2. On the bluetooth on your ktm from preference...
3. Go to my ktm on your bike and select pairing...and then you are able to connect..

PS: Every time you need to start the ktm app before connecting with your bike each time you need to connect...

Hello to all the Xbhpians and Dukers out here..
I'm returning to X-bhp after almost 3 years, and for a good reason. I have decided to get the 2017 D390...YAY!! :P

So I need your help in deciding which showroom to buy it from. Although from what I gathered from different sources, all the showroom/service centre guys are equally incompetent, when it comes to knowledge. But I just want to be on the safer side. My friend works in KTM showroom near Hebbal, but since it is too far away for me, he suggested I go to Chandra Layout ,where he has some contacts.
Another friend of mine has a contact in Indiranagar Showroom. BTW I live in Bengaluru south, so the closest showroom is KTM Banashankari, where another friend of mine has a contact.

So I just wanted to confirm which showroom is better "overall". In terms of actual knowledge about the bike and good service.

Any inputs and advice are welcome

TIA.
If u can't explain it to a six year old; You don't understand it yourself!!

Getting charged ₹200 for chain cleaning is normal. Learn to DIY. It'll much better and cost effective. Consumables like oil and filter are always charged. Always say no to add-ons.

Yep, they charged me too 150 for chain clean and 150 for chain lube. I mean, seriously?? I do it myself and next service i'll ask them to leave it off their agenda (and my bill). First service total came to about Rs. 1600 which is still better than what used to come for my enfield.

Hey Aditya, imho where you buy the bike from nowadays is less important unless you are bound to frequent them often. You can try the BTM one if its en route to you or get it from Banashankari, whichever you feel comfortable at. Service at BTM from my 4 year experience is apt, the service guys are neutral if not friendly and the staff is quite alright too and the sales person is responsive as well.

One more strange thing I've just notice. ₹1,584 for 1.5l Motul. ₹855 is the MRP for a 1l bottle. How the hell can they charge you more than it. Buy your own bottle for oil changes as well. You'll save ₹600 in 2 oil changes.

So I've clocked 6.4k kms on the bike since april along with a tiny pillion on some of the rides, have covered the obvious places in south india and here are some thoughts:

Pros:

1. Everything everyone says about the bike.
2. And some more performance and some more smiles.
3. Mile/Kilometer muncher, which is not that odd anymore, seat does get hard after few hundred kilometers but its fine and pillion seat is way better than before.
4. Smooth as silk, most of the time, the vibrations at bar ends are quite tolerable in the city, needs a week at most to get used to.
5. Decent grip on wet roads and brilliant in the twisties and highways, you'l literally forget what you are doing while you have your knee down, feels like a breeze.
6. Wait, decent mileage? I've ridden it at speeds above 100 for quite some distance, and have 28 on the economy, might be coz its shared city and highway miles equally but it'l return a decent 23-25 in the city.

Cons (not really):

1. The headlights feel weird, its more of a projector than an illuminator, works perfect when its pitch black but its alright otherwise, not that bright or familiar yellow hue that you are used to.
2. TFT turning off randomly (I've seen it once or twice, came back on after i restarted the bike but has happened mostly when i'm about to stop).
3. The obvious ecu/hlu/headlight issues which i think might be resolved in newer units?
4. Bad mount for a wind shield, need to wait for that to show up in some time.
5. Tiny tank for tank bags and existing saddle bags were not a proper fit, but eh, you'l work around that.

Overall, could'nt be more happier as an upgrade from the 200 and as a purchase, whether you are fanatic or not, you are going to love the thing for a long time to come. For those looking for suggestions, you don't need any, there's nothing on offer that gets better than this, for a while even, go for it and ride the F out of it while holding onto the rules and regulations, and your wits, as it bites back too .

Hey Dhanush,

Thanks for your opinion. Even I thought so, and FYI I just booked it this morning at Banashankari. Sales guy was neutral, borderline reluctant, but I didn't care.

Will make the full payment on Monday, and take the delivery on 24/25th...

Planning on getting the ReflectON Maxprotect ceramic coating as soon as I get it.

Will update as things happen...

It's some 1200 IIRC. Maybe tax on tax? You can't charge tax on top of mrp. It's inclusive of taxes.
825 is the mrp for 1 litre. They are cheating clean.
n_sandy they can't charge for labour for the general service. For other stuff. They can.

Now, coming to your engine oil leak, I guess it has to do with a microscopic or fine crack in the casing during casting and what not. No amount of paste is a permanent fix, as the SVC did, it's always advisable to replace the casing with a brand new one. I would definitely recommend you to go the warranty way to get your defective casing replaced on a proactive basis.

Cheers!

Update from the SVC: On diagnosis, they said the liquid gasket need to be replaced as the crankcase doesn't seem to have an issue. They will be reapplying the gasket, since the leak is at joint in the crank case and not as a crack.

To my knowledge the liquid gasket is basically the sealant used to stick the case together. Correct me if i am wrong.. Lets see how this pans out..

Sorry for late update, They checked it by riding it for 2km and idling it for 10mins but.. No problem found. Got it topped up and observed for a week now (apprx. 300 kms) the level has dropped a bit. Need to visit SVC again. It's really getting frustrating now, no leaks, no overflow, no mix with engine oil. Not sure about the problem. Will wait for this one time and then raise it to KTM directly. For the left cowl vibration, the Evap system tube was loose and also the headlight unit bit loose, which was rectified.

I just came out of the SVC and they are saying that its for system update if TFT and some other regular check up..
