I think it simply is not worth what you pay for.. The 390 itself is tuned to extract max power with decent reliability. You may notice Some minor gains, nothing earth shattering for regular use. I had plenty of questions and emailed them.. Never got a reply. Maybe you could borrow one from someone at motovation? Don't buy it without actually testing it out on your bike. And you know better to not trust some of these so called 'reviews' put out by expert vloggers on the tube.Originally posted by Ajay Vishwanath View PostBuddy. I meant I'd like to talk & meet someone who has installed it. Curious to know the performance gains
Experience it first hand and then decide if you think it's worth it.
There is another outfit called code 6 tuning.. These guys do a remap on the existing ecu(no piggyback) and also say that they can restore the factory map if required. They were atleast kind enough to ask me to call them to discuss the requirements (I sent emails asking some questions but they did not provide answers in writing). These guys are also based in Bangalore.Last edited by s1d; 07-09-2017, 12:30 AM.

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Anyone facing the TFT ghosting issue? Started yesterday on my bike. It goes away after sometime but it is really annoying. Especially the speed indicator where the numbers are big and the ghosting is very prominent.
Will be going to the service center tomorrow. Just wanted to know if this issue is fixable or one needs to change the entire unit.

Sadly, its present on every bike. Cheap TFT vendor KTM is using!Originally posted by csunit37 View PostAnyone facing the TFT ghosting issue? Started yesterday on my bike. Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
well, from what I know, it's something we need to live with, normally TFTs have very low sunlight visibility (from my limited knowledge, pls correct me).Originally posted by csunit37 View PostAnyone facing the TFT ghosting issue? I guess they did some "adjustments" so that the information is "visible" in the daylight brightly.. these aren't the dual tone displays so I guess it's something to give to take.
I guess you can have saddlebags and a pillion at the same time.. and for tank bag, you can go for the non-magnetic ones.. they fit perfectly fine..Originally posted by oldman View PostYes can't put saddle bag with a pillion and tank bag, the ones available, the magnet doesn't hold because of the plastic shroud over the tank, yes tried but could not get anything suitable
I'm saying this because I've tried saddle bags, never had any issue with pillion, never had a pillion, so can't comment on the pillion comfort, but should be fine because there's nothing on the actual seat itself.. and the tank bag - non magnetic ones work just fine, I've used them for a brief period & never found any issues.. infact it's a must have!!
yes, just waiting for someone to install it, just curious about the performance gains in the "real world" feelings..Originally posted by s1d View PostI think it simply is not worth what you pay for.. I remember Nokia used to have amazing displays like the ones on E72 & 6303 Classic that had great sunlight legibility, but you would see a rainbow on them at certain angles, but on this, I don't see any of that, and your normal "smartphone" is hardly readable under the sunlight, I guess it's something to give to have something..Originally posted by chip94 View PostSadly, its present on every bike. Re: Strange Vibrating Sound in My New Duke 390 2017
Is it only on a particular RPM? I had this problem on the 250 where there was a metallic sound that came around exact 5k RPM, not before and after. Much later on, i found that the lower nut on the LHS leg guard had gone missing and the vibration had cut the mounting bolt itself..Originally posted by anujain View PostI have now completed 850 km and i observed this sound is coming from engine and this sound is like something metallic is vibrating or rattling. I told KTM engineer Mr. Ankit Khare( According to him he is incharge of UP and Bihar Region) about this problem but he told me that back end has classified this sound normal as Evap system works in this particular RPM band. But i am not satisfied with this explanation cause i have checked some more new duke 390 2017 but no sound found. What should I do. Any expert technician is needed.

I think it is indeed cost cutting, but only if KTM has provided a manual brightness/contrast adjustment, the ghosting issue that you've mentioned could have been conditioned so that it doesn't double all the time. And I guess it happens only at certain view modes, such as night mode and more pronounced at certain angles, so yes, it can be overcome using a slightly better display or manual adjustment, but well, nothing significantly to worry.Originally posted by csunit37 View PostAnyone facing the TFT ghosting issue? Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

It is present only during the night mode. The problem is the speed indicator text is big and it gets quite distracting. The numbers overlap each other. As they say 'once you see it, you cannot unsee it'. I'll post a pic of that tonight.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostI think it is indeed cost cutting, but only if KTM has provided a manual brightness/contrast adjustment, the ghosting issue that you've mentioned could have been conditioned so that it doesn't double all the time. So everyone is facing this issue? It's weird that I have not seen a single post here or video on YouTube regarding this. So I thought this was not a common issue. Anyways will go the svc tomorrow. Lets see what these guys have to say.Originally posted by chip94 View PostSadly, its present on every bike. Cheap TFT vendor KTM is using!

I see this on my display too. Moreover I see that the clock runs almost a minute faster in 2 days !Originally posted by csunit37 View PostAnyone facing the TFT ghosting issue? But this sound is coming only after warm up. I did not observe any sound in cold bike.Originally posted by strahl7 View PostIs it only on a particular RPM? I noticed it the day I took delivery of my bike. What surprised me most is that whenever I raised this issue amongst other 390 owners, they were shocked because nobody really paid so much attention to it.Originally posted by csunit37 View PostSo everyone is facing this issue? "once you see it, you cannot unsee it", like you said, once they saw it, they couldn't unsee it and I've been cursed ever since :P

I never had any vibrations etc. So I couldn't figure it out. The mechanic did in my first service & replaced the bolt. Surprising how come so much widespread issue. I mean this is really serious!!Originally posted by anujain View PostBut this sound is coming only after warm up. I did not observe any sound in cold bike.
Wow the QC is getting bad at different places. TFT, (which wasn't the issue in previous model), headlamp (which was perfect last model), bolts breaking (competing RE I see?) but this is the first "hardware" issue that I saw. Nothing else.
Open Q to all - do I need support from handlebars for the windshield? I picked up an AS200 shield going to fix it today. OR the strength of the number plate holder is good enough?Last edited by Ajay Vishwanath; 07-10-2017, 11:01 AM.

Falling of crash guard bolt was present in previous gen 390s too, in my case bolt was broken in half due to vibes and other part was stuck.Originally posted by Ajay Vishwanath View PostInteresting, I've met many other folks (including myself) who had the issue of the le?
