    [QUOTE=kau8552;1332093]Hello Everyone,

I'm back to give a small update regarding the modifications on my bike. I've added AUX lights as the stock lights are just not enough for night riding as my priority is to Tour on this bike.

The lights look awesome man. Could you share the link for the lights?
Also where did you get the windshield from?

An update on the ECU failure.

Today I face the TFT reset and lost around 10 kms on the odo. Turning on the ignition with immediate engine kill switch to on and pressed the starter. The bike started however the TFT was reset to the odo seen in the morning.

This is 2018 5V39 version. Does anyone faced this issue in their 2018 versions ? Any suggestions to avoid these type of resets ?

How long does the chain sprocket set last. My duke 200 sprocket never lasted more than 15000kms even when lubed and cleaned properly

This is bad news. I updated to 5V39 last week and was told it is the latest version and it will fix the TFT reset issue. Dont know of a method to avoid the reset but if it happens again you can watch out for any trigger. Got my bike in April 2017 and ODO is 8500. TFT reset happened only once at 5000 ODO. That time I lost around 40 kms on the ODO and both the trip meters reset to zero.

Front discs are more efficient in cooling themselves as they are direction in the part of the air flow as opposed to the rear rotors. Rear rotors tend to be slightly hotter in comparison to the front even when used in conjunction. But, they shouldn't be smoking hot, as that is indeed not what we want. It's definitely a sign of pad adhesion or sticky pads/pistons

I got my beast a week back . It's a 2018 orange version and I just checked the wheels after reading your post. Even I have the same issue. Paint is just coming off when wiping with a plain tissue.

Checked in person with the dealer. They had a few 2018 390's for delivery. All the bikes had the same problem. The manager raised it to KTM. No updates till now.
Oh dear! Seems like a quality issue here or perhaps a certain batch, is anyone's guess. Nonetheless, should be interesting to hear what KTM has to say regarding this blunder. Definitely not impressed with fork oil leaks, paint just wiping of napkins. Keep us posted.

Chain sprocket, tires and brake pads always wear at a different rate for each person, driving style et cetera. I can go on and on on what is and why, but i's just that luck runs out sooner for some, part and parcel of a biker's life, nonetheless,

In case you have your TFT console resetting post-update or you have the factory updated one. Do try to videograph it so that it can be shown as a plausible evidence, so that KTM is made aware of any bugs, that were filtered through. Keep your observations posted.
Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                  The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                  THE END

The tail lamp LEDs have started to fail on my bike. Out of the 6 LEDs, 3 have stopped working (all on the right side step tail)

Anyone has an idea wat would be the cost to replace it ?

This should be replaced under warranty.

One question for all the Duke 390 2017 onwards users. Does the rpm still vary in all gears (+-100)?
                            Mine does in all gears.
                            Sudden minor jerks.
Means you cant drive at just one speed.

The RPM is not stable under 4k, being a big single the ride is jerky under 4000 RPM. But after crossing 4000 RPM , the engine holds that RPM much better.

You might observe some inconsistencies in the way the throttle behaves at around 3.5 to 4k RPM, and with a new bike the effect is more pronounced. Let the bike bed in properly, once the bike clocks in more miles, things should start to improve. Try not to lug the engine as we do in 100cc motorcycles, these motorcycles can't handle low speed lugs, partly to blame are the fueling maps from the factory itself.

                                Cheers!
