Actually I think the power delivery is cut at 7.5k rpm, that is when the shift indicator turns on, isn't that the rev limiter at 7.5k rpm?

You can set the shift light to blink/stay on at whatever rpm (rpm1 & rpm2) you want. It doesn't do anything to the power delivery. It is merely an indicator of sorts to aid the rider.
I haven't seen any difference in the way the bike performs on either the 200 or 390, and I've clocked close to 30k on my D200 and a few 100km on the 390's.

Nope, that's not it. The limiter comes in higher at 7500. Try taking your bike pass 7.5k and see

Hey, may i know how's the bike performing? The first service charge, mileage you're getting in mumbai? I'm gonna book the bike on 17th from goregaon ktm store. Please answer to this. And it will be even better if you share your contact with me. Here is my email - [email protected]

I love the bike, because it fits my criteria. Keep in mind that it's a 'Sports Commuter' , which can also be used as a tourer, so don't keep very high expectations. In a city like Mumbai, 30bhp is more than enough, as you know on most occasions we don't get to ride above 50kmph in every day traffic.
The fuel efficiency is around 25 to 30 kmpl at the moment.
The few things I don't like about the 250
            1. The initial pick up is sluggish, the fun only begins from the 3rd gear post 3 to 4k rpm.
            2. The bike tends to have slight hiccups and vibes at the 4k mark, the annoying part is that the 4k mark is where we ride the most.
            3. When you ride during daily traffic the radiator fan sounds like an Aeroplane is going to take off. Also, the heat might burn your calves, so do not wear shorts while riding.
            4. The side stand is probably designed keeping in mind the Austrian roads. The bike almost doesn't tilt at all when you park it. If anyone comes and leans on it the will be flat on the ground.
            5. The AHO is ridiculous, even though it has more to do with the govt. , but the entire purpose of having such a sexy DRL on the bike is defeated.

Overall, if you compare with it's competitors like the CBR 250 or the fz25 , the duke 250 wins hands down.

Hi guys.. congrats to all 250 owners. I am about to buy ktm duke 250, I wanted 390, but budget is tight, so I will be going for 250. I want my 250 to look like 390, so can I paint 250 alloys with orange colour like 390? I mean I want the exact paint, not just any orange.. I have never seeb a duke 200 or 250 owner doing this, so I am asking here..

              Thanks.

Don't ever paint your rims because it's never going to be the same. And the paint might also chip and fade over time. What I do suggest however, is to buy a set of orange rims of the duke 200/390 and get them fitted.

A new pair of them should not cost you more than 8k. But you can ask them to kinda buy back your black rims. So it might cost you less then.

But do note that orange rims are difficult to maintain as they tend to show the dirt on then sooner.

                      Hey Guys,

Any one facing battery issues with the Duke250.. I am having a problem starting the bike.. Came to the service center to check the guy says if it's a battery issue I will have to get the battery exchanged from Exide battery dealership which will take 7 days by the time KTM will arrange a standby battery for my bike..

I had same the same idea, to paint the rims orange but once I got the bike I loved it the way it was. And are you planning to get the White one or the Orange one?

I have a duke 250,just finished a 1.2k trip but after it I noticed that the front tyre lacked pressure and in a couple of days it was flat, when the Tyre shop guy checked there were no punchers but lately he noticed that the air leak was from one spot of side walls of the Tyre, what might have caused this? What's the solution?

Air leak from the rim of the tyre can be due to hitting potholes on the road at speed. If the alloys are lightweight, this could happen again.

Also check if paint is peeling off the rims. Thats another reason for the air leak.
