TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
10W40 would be great. 10w50 is much thicker in viscous. So your engine will strain along with less heat transfer and flow.Originally posted by [email protected] View PostHello ia have 160 4v
Can i use motul 7100 10w50 oil for my bike ?
So stick with 10w30 or 10w40 grade oil.
Else try Mobil or Shell.
I used Motul 7100 10w40 for about 3500 kms. Engine refinement were same and clutch pulls were easier. Fuel economy was 40+ in city with control gear shifts & decent pace.
Today I changed to Shell, gear shifts become smooth. So yet to experience more.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
Hi guys
. 9k kms on odo, completed all 5 services.
I have few questions in my mind.
From now on from next service I'm thinking to try different engine oil, like Motul. But I'm not sure which to buy. Fully synthetic or semi synthetic.
I requested in Svc and they said sir it's OK you can change, but don't ask us if there are any problems.
2) The stock lights are mediocre and very poor. Also asked in Svc for solution, the only solution they have is not to touch any wiring and just change the bulb alone. That they'll do. I asked if I can fit aux lights in local mechanic, they told me some horror stories of water getting inside, starting problems, bike lacking in performance and also entrie ECU damage.
😕 Confused to the core

Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
Guys just wanted to know.
Does TVS still has normal RTR 160 in production?its listed in their website.
is it worth buying now? is there any specific shortcomings in this particular model?like vibrations etc?
how is pillion comfort?riding position? is it bit sporty compared to 160 4v?Last edited by Riddle Rao; 02-23-2020, 05:00 PM.

Yes it is still under production. The BS6 Variant got a slight bump in power too.
It is vibey by character, and unlike the comfort difference between old and new pulsars, new apaches are as comfortable as old ones and have a major difference in handling. Newer ones being clearly better.
Yes it feels slightly sporty compared to 160 4v in terms of handlebar position, but the footpegs are a little forward and lower.
Goodluck.

Okay, check your engine oil and tube your carb. I had this idling vibration. After tuning my carb, it went off.Originally posted by MkvRTR View PostWhile idling it vibrates slightly, While accelerating the handle bar and footpegs vibrates a lot, After sometime driving hands goes numb
Check your engine mounting Screws and bolts. Tighten them. Then chain. Chain place an important role in smooth riding.
