Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
Bro after I cold start and idle the bike, the rpm fluctuate around 1200-1400. I guess this is fine. Only problem is it does not start at one crank when kept idle for more than 6 hrs. What might be the problemOriginally posted by ayrus View Post2k rpm is a bit high. Check the idle at:
1) After a cold start (after at least 6 hours rest)
2) Idle as soon as you stop your bike after warming up [at least 15 mins of riding at ~4k rpm]
3) Let it idle for a few seconds (10-15 secs) and see if it drops to a lower value

Don't look at the cold start rpm. But after warming up, it must settle at 1500 rpm. Cold start rpm may be 1000-1250 (you can know the rpm only precise to 250 rpm as 1 bar in tacho is 250 rpm).Originally posted by San1234 View PostBro after I cold start and idle the bike, the rpm fluctuate around 1200-1400. If the bike does not start in a single crank, it is not a big issue; it can take upto 3-5 cranks but once it starts, it must idle without stalling for at least 30 seconds.

No it doesn't stall on its own once the bike starts.Originally posted by ayrus View PostDon't look at the cold start rpm. But after warming up, it must settle at 1500 rpm. Cold start rpm may be 1000-1250 (you can know the rpm only precise to 250 rpm as 1 bar in tacho is 250 rpm).

Ya I too don't have any start issues , but the idling is a bit more ,I hope !Originally posted by San1234 View PostNo it doesn't stall on its own once the bike starts.
*It's around 2K RPM , anyhow will check tomorrow morning and will post here.
*If the idling RPM is high , shall I adjust the carb , Manually ?

Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
I tried accelerating the bike in 2nd gear (although non advisable) from the traffic signal ,but I failed !!
I felt as like Duke 200 power ! As it's also a tougher one to move the bike in 2nd gear from a stall !!

I hope there won't be warranty but anyhow ask the SVC to fix it off !Originally posted by RebellionRiderRTR View PostMy side mirror came off today while setting it in traffic in running. This looks seem cheap material is used as I hardly used for 4 months and mostly it doesn't stay tight, loosening all Da time. Guys, will der b any warranty on accessories I have a doubt on it.
*As your bike is a month older , they will give you I hope .
Luckily I've got the good RVMs but unlucky though !!!
Due to the less space in the main gate I can't enter or exit easily with those mirrors !!
Hence I removed those RVMs !![emoji19][emoji853]
*Only way is to go for aftermarket mirrors !
(I too asked for replacement of mirrors in ASC but they said no any other mirrors will set the bike !Last edited by Aswinlogi; 10-13-2018, 10:59 PM.

First we need to know some more about the behavior of the bike before fiddling with the carb. Don't fiddle with the carb unless you know what you're doing.Originally posted by Aswinlogi View PostYa I too don't have any start issues , but the idling is a bit more ,I hope !

Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
Many RVMs share the same threads and are can be exchanged between bikes. I know many people using Duke mirrors on RTR 200 in the forums. Also you can use the FZ25 ones I guess. Just make sure of the stalk size and visibility before getting one.Originally posted by Aswinlogi View PostI hope there won't be warranty but anyhow ask the SVC to fix it off !

If you cannot enter with the RVMs, just carry a spanner with you. Loosen the nut by half turn, fold the mirrors inside and take the bike inside. When you go out, keep the mirrors in place and tighten the nut. It may be a bit tedious but it's scary on the roads without RVMs.

Yeah the behaviour is to be understood keenly!Originally posted by ayrus View PostFirst we need to know some more about the behavior of the bike before fiddling with the carb. Don't fiddle with the carb unless you know what you're doing.
But too much RPM at idling will suck more petrol for sure !
*Anyhow I will check ASAP tomorrow morning !!!

Haha definitely it's not an easy job to do but instead buy a good RVM set !Originally posted by ayrus View PostMany RVMs share the same threads and are can be exchanged between bikes. I will try pulling in those RVMs in olx !! Atleast
*Maybe Fz ,Duke RVMs will set but I tried RVM of pulsar and found it won't fit !
Will place a compact , sturdy RVMs soon.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
You can start the bike in any gear (though not recommended). Just hold the throttle at 3-4k rpm and release the clutch slowly while modulating the throttle so that the rpm does not fall. This may come handy in emergencies.Originally posted by Aswinlogi View PostI tried accelerating the bike in 2nd gear (although non advisable) from the traffic signal ,but I failed !!

Yeah but that's advisable anyhow we should know to pull on as it will be handy in some situations.Originally posted by ayrus View PostYou can start the bike in any gear (though not recommended). Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
As of now I am strictly following the 3K RPM rev limit mode !!
Still I am in wonder , as I was able reach 40-45 kmph @ 3K RPM at top gear !!
I've installed the WINDSHIELD which comes with the Apache 200 4v (v2) and its a direct fit for all Apache 160,200 models.
It costs around 200 bucks something.Last edited by Aswinlogi; 10-13-2018, 11:13 PM.
