    Hello Friends

yesterday i visited nearest TVS showroom for a test ride of New Apache 160 4V, bike was very responsive and easy to handle ,really liked it

after the test ride i noticed the handle bar fitting and realized it is not properly fixed

when i asked the showroom people they said bike comes like that only from manufacturing plant and all the bikes in the showroom are in the same way

have a look at the images posted below and let me know if your bikes are also having the same kind of fitting or i came across some defective lot

just imagine, in long run what if the Allen screw develops minor cracks due to fitting in wrong angle (look from both front and back),then breaks and the handle comes off while riding

we are paying almost 1 lakh rupees for the bike, don't you think we deserve a proper fit and finish bike that is worth our hard earned money

these show rooms always try to charge extra on everything from PDI to Accessories and

still we should accept these defects that may lead to major problem ,correct me if i am wrong

don't misunderstand me, i don't hate TVS , i own an TVS bike and have been riding that bike for 14 years ,it never caused trouble

It is not a defect. It is the design as such

Is that a gap or what? They should improve thos problem. It looks so cheap and spoils the whole looking vehicle.

That is how it's designed to ensure the handlebars don't incur lateral movement.

Although the pic here has bar raisers, pretty much sums to what it is in all bikes.

Naaah , its a general clamping . It's present in downside while the upper Allen bolt doesn't looks like that !

                  Hello !

The bike is good at all conditions . It's a hotcake of the town .

*I haven't ridden much kms but can say no one can offer these segment leading finish .

If you're not interested in buying Apache 160 4v then you can go and check the other competitors on line.

Meanwhile if you're not satisfied with the ASC , I 'd suggest you to go nearby centers.

**Am not a TVS fan either !!!!

Checked my bike and found that is a very small gap between the upper and lower clamps holding handle bar. The gap will be just about a millimetre and uniform on both sets of clamps, and both sides of the handle bar (front side towards meter gauge and back side towards fuel tank). TBH I am not really worried about this as the fitment feels very secure. But you would be right to argue that this gap should not be there as an indication of better fit and finish.

In many bikes like Unicorn 150, GS150, the forward Allen bolts have to be tightened first and then the Allen bolts nearest to the rider. So that gap is normal. On some bikes like Gixxer 155 and Xblade this gap is almost non-existent and am not sure what the shop manual advises regarding the sequence of tightening those bolts.

The gap was present while I booked the bike. I noticed the gap in all Apaches.

IDK what's his problem [emoji16], inspite of doing PDI he is complaining about the bars !

There are different types of bar(handle) that serves the unique style and purpose !

When I read about it there were some comments like 4 valve engines may not produce this sound. But looks like they may produce the sound as well. But again my 1604V did about 1900 kms and I havent heard this tik tik noise so far.
More or less all motorcycles make the said noise. I'm yet to notice it on either the P220 or CT100B, but I wouldn't be surprised if I do. It has nothing to do with the head or valve configuration, it's just metal rapidly contracting/expanding.

Does the clutch plate will get affected ?

*And I've seen a slipper clutch from the Apache 200 is a direct fit to 160 4v and it costs around 2.5K bucks !!
                                Is it worthy ?
