Congratulations. Any thoughts about the accessories you would get? I'd avoid the crash guard, zana has a better low profile one.

I have seen the Zana ones but if i have to be honest they look big and ugly to me, they don't gel with the rest of the motorcycle. I am looking at the RE sump guard and the smaller engine guard in black other than that the cost of the bar end mirrors seems absurd so i got a pair of CNC bar end mirrors from Murica. I also plan to change the turn indicators to something subtle and LED, and the headlight from a halogen to an LED as i have heard about the combination of AHO and Halogen bulbs draining the battery.

These ones. The ones from RE are too small, I don't think they'd do much in a crash.

The bar end mirrors are stupidly expensive. I got a pair from AliExpress, waiting for them to be delivered.

I have got the RE ones and i regret buying them, 3200 rs for mirrors which doesn't even provide good coverage

So my bike arrived on the 30th of December and according to the showroom salesman the RTO guy had come to register the bike, he said that i will receive a message from the RTO about 'Tax Paid' and then only it is confirmed that the bike has been registered. Is this true? The last time we had to register a vehicle was long back, so i am not too informed about this.

Yes, the RTO will not register your vehicle untill they get the tax money. And as soon as they receive it your registration process will be underway. You can check the status of it on their website. The RC will be generated within a week and you'll get the physical copy within a month.

Does the front shocker make thud kind of sound while going over potholes or speed bumps?

From what I have heard and came across in forums, you will hear a thud kind of sound while going over bumps and potholes on medium to little high speeds.

Well but what's the reason behind this, that's what troubling me

Again from what I have read on the internet its something to do with the Suspension setup, few say that the front is setup soft compared to the rear unlike interceptor. May be the reason. Just a thought.

The suspension is too soft and will bottom out even at lower speeds. This is not an issue as long as you are mindful, I am planning on upgrading to a set on progressive springs, if I can find them.

Man i try to be as careful as possible, to the point that it is ruining the whole experience for me, i dread that noise.
Do tell me if you find a solution, i'm just waiting for RE to fix it in the new batches so that i can get that done

Re: Royal Enfield Continental GT 650

I'm getting back to riding motorcycles after nearly 6 years! And in all my life, I never thought I'd be getting back to riding on an RE - I've always been more of a sport-bike fanatic. That said, I could not help but fall in love with the Continental GT!

Booked a BS-6 Continental GT at the OMR showroom in Chennai back on December 21st. Looks like the bike is ready and being sent for registration formalities shortly, based on which, I should have it by 30/01. Fingers crossed!

Will keep you guys updated on the showroom experience, and ownership experience thereafter.
