Re: Royal Enfield Continental GT 650
I'm sure it's a privately owned dealership, they are just trying to get your money, i think you should skip this one and try another, maybe try one which is owned bt royal enfield, company storeOriginally posted by abhi1991 View PostAdding to this they are saying I have to pay SOME amount to get the BIKE in transit ALOTTED to me, I mean isnt that the while point of BOOKING?!Peace

Re: Royal Enfield Continental GT 650
There is no such policy that mandates you to pay to see the bike, it is your right to see your bike before paying. If they don't agree, contact RE directly.Originally posted by abhi1991 View PostExactly what I thought, BUT as per dealership RE policy mandates that I dont get to touch, feel or do anything to my future bike unless I pay the full amount and wait for it to come out of RTO. Its not even a BLIND DATE, its BLIND MARRIAGE.

Re: Royal Enfield Continental GT 650
To all those potential owners who are reading this thread to get an idea of the twins (interceptor and GT), do check out olx as well. There are many 650 owners who are selling their bikes just because they got bored or not suiting their styles or whatsoever the reason may be.
The bikes are in good condition as they are only an year old, you still have 2 years of warranty left for the extra peace of mind. Bargain and you'll be able to save around 50k on the current price, or maybe more
Just give a search on olx and you'll be surprised to see almost all in mint condition with full accessories as well. I regret buying a brand new now after looking at the used ones.Peace

Re: Royal Enfield Continental GT 650
I agree BUT the latest BS6 norms totally changes the game. I mean if you look on the long run and if at all the resale value. Moreover I see alot of Interceptor 650 but one or two CGT 650 atleast in and around my locality. I can understand that it might not suite one on a daily basis BUT getting bored? Cmon these are fun motorcycles to be honest [emoji28]Originally posted by yashasvi View PostTo all those potential owners who are reading this thread to get an idea of the twins (interceptor and GT), do check out olx as well. Re: Royal Enfield Continental GT 650
UPDATE ON MY CGT 650 PRE SALES EXPERIENCE:
Man it has been a ride! Not in a good way if its not obvious by now. Getting hands on this baby especially here in Chennai is a huge PIA, I am worried thinking how the post sales experience would be if the pre sales one itself is sucking BIG TIME like this. Amyway after cancelling a booking from a dealer, re booking with a another, no proper transparency from the sales team of the dealership, escalating to RE officials, getting the Sales Head of RE in a Con-Call, FINALLY, they have given me hope that I would be receiving my QUEEN by Thursday. Lets see, fingers crossed. [emoji1696][emoji43][emoji28]
Wpuld I recommend the RE dealerships in Anna Nagar and Sreehitha Auto Zone? Time will tell.

Re: Royal Enfield Continental GT 650
Got my CGT 650 Ice Queen, FINALLY!
Initial Thoughts - Man the Seat is so comfy coming from a R15 V2. Man the torque in this engine, makes me wanna twist the throttle at the same time controlling myself not to push above 4k rpm until 1st service. Its more than enough to rush through city traffic. But the engine heats up like crazy in bumper to bumper traffic amd take no name of cooling down anytime soon.
Ordered few accessories but service center had only fork gaitors and bar-end finishers. Didnt get the time for installation as the front assembly needs to be opened up to install the fork gaitors have to find sometime to do that. Thinking of shedding some weight off by removing the mudgaurds, saree gaurd and probably the grab rail as well.
Overall, riding this baby is pure FUN. Happy with the purchase but the presale to delovery experience was subpar at the least.
EDIT: Did I mention about the heaviness? man its damn heavy.[emoji28]
Posting some pics of my Queen to feast your eyes.Last edited by abhi1991; 03-14-2020, 09:47 PM.

Hey congratulations on the bike, the bike will run hot in the running in period, during the first service oil gets changed to full synthetic and after that the engine settles down a bit, resulting in bike running less hotter.
Just control your wrist till the first service and after that let her ripp, do get AEW exhausts if the cops are chill in your city, the exhausts reduces the weight, enhances the look, and sound so damn good, do get the chrome ones, cost only 9k as compared to the ss ones which cost 16k.
And yes do remove the sari guard, rear mudguard and the grab rail, reduces weight and enhances the looks. you can put back the rear mudguard during rains yourself, it's super easy.
Do get bar end mirrors as well, they look super sexy, just don't purchase the re ones as they are overpriced.
Bike is heavy, but when it's one the move you don't feel itLast edited by yashasvi; 03-14-2020, 11:39 PM.Peace

Since you’re in Chennai and you’re a fellow xBhp-er, do DM me sometime! We could look at gathering a few other members for a short ride (After all this Corona stuff dies down, hopefully)!-------------------
Swiggy Mayhem!
We're trying to start an initiative where we're gathering enough photos or videos
of erratic Swiggy/Zomato/UberEats riders across all cities so we can cast a spotlight
on this issue and try and sort it out. If you video-record as you ride, or have a
dash-cam in your car, or can take SAFELY photographs of instances where these riders
are creating a nuisance by riding recklessly on the roads, PLEASE share the same with
us on the thread above. Appreciate it!

Re: Royal Enfield Continental GT 650
Hey Guys, it's me again hoping someone can help me with the below queries.
I am planning to get the RE Bar-End RVMs, now I know everyone gonna thrash me saying its overpriced and stuff but honestly, I checked those out in person amd they do feel very STURDY and PREMIUM with Anti-Glare, Anti-Reflective coating and what not. Still doesnt justify the price I know but hey its what the Heart wants [emoji28]
Second I am going with the Trip Machine leather wraps, going with Tan for now may be turn to Black later cause Blacks my Fav, just experimenting with rest of the Colors from the Palate [emoji16]
Third, I am looking for a good Crash Gaurd, I know there are alot of those in the market both Genuine and AFMs but my main concerns are it should be Sleek, minimal at the same time do its job of protecting my bike when unfortunate times unfold [emoji58] Was looking at ZANAs ones with that frame slider thingy, but it looks bulky and worried it might ruin the looks, I know all crash guards affect the looks but there are like the minimal emgine gaurds from RE. What do you guys think? Should I go for any of them or just HOPE that I dont let my Bike fall, pretty sure its gonna happen someday just being practical. [emoji28]

Re: Royal Enfield Continental GT 650
I have the RE bar end ones, and they are NOT anti glare, NOT anti reflective, or any other thing, they are just trying to fool you .Originally posted by abhi1991 View PostHey Guys, it's me again hoping someone can help me with the below queries.

Moreover they are prone to scratches as well, i keep my bike very carefully yet the mirrors(reflective side) have got scratches.
And they are plain mirrors not convex, so they cover a very small rear area and not large one which convex mirror do.
Regarding the leather grips it's upto you, whatever you like.
And the engine/leg guards of zana are definitely over engineered and looks too bulky, doesn't suit the bike at all, specially gt. I have got the RE large ones, simple design, looks good and are strong as well, i have them in black, according to me they are the best ones.
I hope you are getting the 20% discount on accessoriesPeace

Re: Royal Enfield Continental GT 650
Some are getting paint protection film, others are getting ceramic coating done, i am just waxing the tank on regular basis.Originally posted by abhi1991 View PostHey Guys, how are you managing to protect your tanks from scratches? Its been just q couple of days and I am already starting to see small bits of scratches especially near the cockpit. [emoji58]
Instead of using a cloth to remove the dust, just pour 2 mugs of water and wipe using a microfiber cloth, this prevents the formation of swirl marks.
Moreover purchase a bike cover, this helps a lot
Only cover the bike after the engine and exhaust pipes gets warm.Peace
