  • I need some info from the 180 owners who are 6 feet (i mean actually, not from people who 'think' they are 6 feet ). How is the comfort level on long rides? Will you recommend it to someone who does 50kms daily to college and back?
I havent seen a 180 on road in Lucknow nor in a TVS showroom. I guess it's on order and receive basis here,so that rules out the possibility of me getting a test ride. Hence I want your opinion.

you can see that magic 12000 mark to but you got to rev it till that point and you'll hear engine scream for mercy..

this 10500 limit works a lot while cornering it in 2 gear.....

and you've got 17.3 ps remember....
Thats true dude....max power keeps flowing.....will try that 10500 mark in 2nd gear while cornering.....

and i think 1 more thing.....i dont know abt the RTR 160 or RTR 160 FI but i have heard that the m3nac3 (RTR 180) come without a rev limitter.....

So this invites a chance to fit the race kits if ever launched by TVS.....
Actually speaking i dont need more power.....its enough....

SO here it goes some info on my bike...
      Hi guys....i got my M3nac3....(RTR 180) on 7th July 2009.
Its been a long month since then as i got my RTO number after 9 days of the delivery of the bike....since then things have been pretty well between me and my bike....and today it was finally the time for her for the first servicing......

i was really happy when i took my bike to the Chatrapati TVS service centre the guy first thought it was a 160 but then after a closer inspection he was amazed to see the 180.He said this is the first 180 in pUne that we are going to do servicing of...!!
and i even told the guy that i want the rear fendar cap to be removed......at first he did nto understand and said no we dont do modifications here......go sumwhere else.....but then i showd him the built-in feature of the 180.....of the removable rear mud flap......i even showed him the mannual in which it was explained how to remove it.....he then said ok....but then was a little adamant to remove it as it would not be advisable to do so in the rains......but then i said to him that i wanted to click some pics.....and then i would agian come to fit the mud flap.....

And i Got my 1st Servicing done....at arnd 500kms......the bike was washed so decided to post the pics......comment plz....if i shud use any cream polish or anything more.....and i also removed the rear fender cap.....the bike tyre from behind looks awesome.....
The bike has become silky smooth....idling rpm now is at 1k rpm....
      KMs done arnd 510kms
Best mileage till date 52km/litre this was before 1st servicing....
Will post the after servicing mileage soon....till then chk out my pics...

                  Hi welcome to XBhp
Ride below 4K Rpms till first service with occasional bursts upto 60-65 . Always keep varying the gears and Rpm else pistons get glazed .Always let the engine idle for around a Minute to warm it Up at Mornings/evening when engine is started after after Long time .

Get Oil and Filter changed in 1st service around 400-500 Kms.

Now ride till 5k rpms and try to vary Rpms and gears and give occasionaly go till 70-80 kmph till 1000kms on Odo .

i meant the Oil filter Not air filter , it cost 30 rs .It is supposed to be changed with every oil change . and dont try K&N air filter on RTR ,atleast not till 5-6 k kms

I honestly don't understand the obsession these 'authorised' mechanics have with low idle rpms. There is no relation between low idle and 'better'. There is an optimum idling rpm, which in this case is ~1400. lower rpms only lead to unnecessary engine wear. set it at the rpm specified in the manual bro.

please confirm your facts before posting, esp when advising someone else. what do you mean by glazed? have you seen a glazed piston? there is no contact between the piston and the cylinder bore. not unless there is something very wrong. the only contact is between the piston rings and the bore. only the bore can get 'glazed'. and what actually happens is excessive or uneven wear of the cross-honed cylinder surface which prevents oil from sticking to the cylinder walls, leading to more wear. in fact the only thing new owners need to keep in mind is that the engine should not overheat. overheating doesn't mean only when you feel it in your legs or feet, it's when the heat causes so much expansion that there is a dangerous amount of wear happening and that could be much before the rider can feel it. heck, you can ride it at 10,000 rpm all day long as long as it doesn't overheat, or rather, 'overwear' if there is such a word. sorry for being a hardass but facts are facts. we can't create our own physics.
