I'm sorry i started this OT, but looks like we got a gen-you-wine fanboy here! Some awesome points raised here. Real laugh riot. MIGs ! lol btw, the ruskies had an investigation and rightly so cause their name was being spoiled, MIGs have had a long history. And their conclusion was that the MIG crashes were due to the IAF using duplicate and substandard parts! only Indians would do jugaad in a friggin fighter ![/QUOTE]
thats is in ours blood indians i definitely say if a crashed moto gp bike is given to our local mechenic he will make it run with all those jugaads ..................................................

When should i shift to semi synthetic oil, is it after 5k? And when to use synthetic oil.
Does using good semi-synthetic/synthetic oil reduces vibes in RTR
My bike has completed 550 kms, which is the best mineral oil for RTR, guess i should be using mineral oil before few thousands kms.
When approaching a corner, stay on the gas until you see Jesus. Then brake HARD.

Punctuations please?Originally posted by abhishekch View Postwhat vfm when you get same power and almost same topspeed from a 75 k bike with more miliage
without delta box frame rtr 180 handels very well ,lc increase maintaince expence for coolent rtr has engine and tank scoops for faster aircool ,6speed increase tension to change frequnt gears 5speed manage to touch 130 ,silicon-alum cylinder dont know about that but rtr over square made from solid alloy is "reliable" for longer life, forged piston rtr has idi which spark plug make a longer spark for better fuel burn i am sure rtrs piston goes mad up and down, monoshock tvs has dual migs i know indias mig always crashes bcos ussr dont make quality products but tvs dose .
I dont want to drag this R15 vs RTR issue but today I rode an R15 for the first time for quite a stretch both on empty straights and sweeping corners. I have just one thing to say, WOW! All these days i had only heard how different the R15 is from all other indian bikes, today i experienced it for the first time and it really is a different thing altogether. I am simply blown away. I cant explain to you the feeling. You got to ride it yourself to feel it.You can only ride better tomorrow if you ride safe today.

No it does not deserve 75k bucks. Go for P220-S. Maximum bang for the buck right now.Originally posted by sri.vaibhav View PostSo this discussion ends at the conclusion that Apache rtr 180 does not deserve 75k bucks...one should not buy spend this big amount on a bike like this...?
Agreed with everything except the one in bolds.Originally posted by julianpaul View PostNot really. There are people here on this forum itself who're perfectly comfortable with the vibes and tappet noise and inadequate servicing. So it comes down to each individual. If you look at the alternatives, TVS's bikes do give you the best bang for the buck. Even taking bajaj into consideration imo.
That is the only thing which leads to a chain reaction of all the above problems we have discussed. And no customer ever overlooks this single factor. Shoddy service backup is what screws a company's reputation and in TVS's case it's worsening. Proper training/support back-up needs to be given by the company at all the service centres but sadly that's happening in only select bigger cities/towns.Even the Head Technician at the TVS SVC where i service my bike complained that maximum consumers report misfiring problems in their RTR-FIs and they couldn't do anything as they don't the Equipment to check the ECU readings.Surprisingly this is the case in the biggest svc centre here in Bhubaneswar which has fair amount of RTR Fis running on the roads.
Hop into Yamaha ownership thread and you will know where the actual problem lies. It's not the problem with the bike always, it's the A.S.S which the culprit is. Keeping the users location's here in mind, i can see most of the shoddy service/complaints is given by those center's located around Western part of India.

It NEVER will.

I have even heard R1's tappets running like jingle bells when revved!!
Agreed!!Originally posted by rennycornelius View PostThat bike has feel, superb engine/chasis geometry and specially the thin i like- it lets your pillion keep his feet on the pegs even at 10000RPM while taking a corner, not like RTR where i can't take a delicious lean with a pillion cuz he'll simply pull his feet off the pegs making the whole bike shake while doing so.
Yes, R15 Rocks. It's currently the best bike according to me currently in the market.Originally posted by theguitarfreak View PostI dont want to drag this R15 vs RTR issue but today I rode an R15 for the first time for quite a stretch both on empty straights and sweeping corners. But i would never buy it. Not my type!!

Hey lets stick to the thread...
We all knew RTR vibrates, has tappets prob and some small probs here n there...it's the sheer love for the machines y we went for the RTR...
so lets cut the R15 vs P220 vs A180 crap and stick to our ownership experiencesRegards,

Agreed on the last part..Originally posted by julianpaul View PostAbsolutely right Renny. In fact the only thing that will probably work is changing the gearing, but that too will just shift the vibes into a different rev range. Rest is psychological.!

Counter balancer shaft irons out the whole vibes, balancer shafts rotate opposite directions at twice the engine speed, eliminating all the vibes produced.Originally posted by pranav_salieri View Post@renny whats this-counter balancer shaft?
if apache is a short stroke motor what about ZMA,FZ.P180,R15?
Thanks to helmet, but still my ears are all erected for the noices my bike makes, and they with the harshness of the engine makes a track like ENIGMA for me.......Originally posted by chicane1879 View Post
