Had my first service couple of days ago .
Do they charge you for the chain spraying ,oil change and oil filter ?
I had to pay rs. 295 total for the service .
I stood by the bike the whole time .
I didnt wanna come back and find the bike scratched or dented ...
I also told the guy about wierd sounda coming from the front ,he tightened something in front of the tank and the noise didnt come for a while .

Felt reduced knocking ,more power too(is that suppose to happen ?)
the bike felt more gruntier at 48-50 that it was earlier .nvm
if i ride the bike at 60(should i since i just had my first service at 500 kms)? ,how much average should i expect ?

Had my first duel with a pulsar 180 today and i lost...

well the pulsar guy only had a lead for a short time and then i was leading but then beacause of a car i had to go down to the fourth gear and then i could not remember which gear she was in and i didnt want to break the speed by pressing the cluch and check for the 5 gear and soon it was in the red region of the RPM meter and making very bad sound as if it as choking and then i came to know that it was the fourth gear and so i changed it but by then the pulsar guys raced ahead and won....

but i m really very happy...i know i lost but my bike would have won...

after the 2nd servicing engine is a lot smoother and and there are no extra vibes or anything....


ya i know but explaining that the recommended specification was 20W40 to the svc guys would have been like banging my head against a wall...

so guys should i get it changed and how soon....is the 10W30 engine oil going to cause a problem ???? i will be using Castrol Power 1


Yes they do charge for everything except labour charge during the free services....25 for chain spray, 60 or 50 for the oil filter and the rest would be for the engine oil in you case( not exact price but approximations, look at the service invoice you would have gotten from the svc...it has all the details)

guys what should i do with the engine oil...get it changed to 20W40 or is the 10W30 ok for now and i can get it changed after 1500-2000 kms

Buy a Chain Spray Can(TruSpray is very good). Use it every week.

You can even ride uptill 5k rpm with occasional bursts to over 6k rpm but dont prolong your ride at high rpms.You can expect 45+kmpl at speeds of 50-60km/hr.

Guys, Did anybody notice that the latest 180 AD which shows the power output as 17.03PS as against 17.3PS it used to show previously. I wonder what's cooking. Is it the altered TCIs in the newer batch showing its effect on power output!!

Yes even I've noticed it. However the manual still says 17.3ps

BTW, I seem to be getting pretty good mileage figures. The odo's logged 820km and I have filled petrol worth 900 buck (till date) which works out to be 17.5 lts and the bike's still running (with 2.5 lts extra in reserve). So the rough mileage figure stands at 54.67 kmpl

Suggestions to keep my RTR Clean?

As we all know RTR 180 Got White sexy colour which is awesome, but the main problem comes with that colour is its cleanliness, So i am here to get help from you guys to keep my RTR 180 clean specially in lower mud-guard place which gets dirty too quickly and i don't clean before serviciing as i am scared that mud scars will be left, also if you guys can suggest me some tips it will be great helpful to me

i am going for motul ss of my bike. it has done odo 5322
currently running on tvs tru 4 the bike is not smooth.

Guess this will be the last time I get such mileage figures. Was running the bike around 4k mark most of the time. No such plans now
