Bro, where have you fitted the air filter??I too have 1 K&N filter but my mech said that it has to be fitted outside the air box & cannot be fitted inside it without breaking the air pipe seal which is connected to the carburetter. Will you please post a pic of it??Originally posted by lijok View Post

Mine is connected directly to the carb... the pipe leading to the air box has been removed.Originally posted by Drifty View PostBro, where have you fitted the air filter??I too have 1 K&N filter but my mech said that it has to be fitted outside the air box & cannot be fitted inside it without breaking the air pipe seal which is connected to the carburetter. Will you please post a pic of it??

visited the svc 2 months back neways its only run 600 kms after the svc and also i had to put mineral oil as they didnt have veedol semi-synthetic one couldthat be a issue
i dont think i am running lean spark plug looks ok.
till then..use mineral oils...After 5k..till 10k u can use semi synth...
After 10k ..u can go for Synthetic...

from where did you get it done?Originally posted by abhishekch View Postdone my service today but not form tvs .rather going to tvs i went to cbz.

power 1 rs 289.
oil filter rs 32.
at least they cleaned my carb and the hiccups has vanished. i was suffering this problem from a long time
.
i am totally satisfied bike has regain its lost power and shift has become smooth again ,adjust the brakes ,tapplet ,chain, and tight all the nuts and bolts and bike is vibrating less now
all this done in just 1 hr.
@social how your disk stopped squeesing mine is doing a lot.
done every thing high pressure water but it is still squeesing when i apply brakes.thats irritating sound is not torrable .

Why not bro? I used Motul semi-synth right after my 3rd service, and from next oil change onwards I've been using Motul fully synthetic... The bike is running into 26k kms. Nothing has happened....Originally posted by pritish View PostSemi-synthetic is not recommended till ur bike cross 5k kms....

Now, I'm not trying to argue or anything... but I'd love to know if there is any actual fact behind saying semi synthetic after 5k and fully synthetic after 10k...

I'm still using valvoline synthetic 20w40, and started using it after the first service at 511 kms. I'm at 39686k and the bike still runs as it did when it was new. I recently took off the front no. plate and the rattling of the fairing has mostly disappeared. Need to change the both tires, they are completely bald now, currently on Zapper FS 90/90 and Zapper C 120/80. Was hoping that they would last till 50000k, that and a new set of brake pads too. No other issues at the moment. Ride safe ya'll.

Well I took it to the ASC and the mechanic opened up both the brakes and scraped the brake pads. The entire process took about 20 mins (and freeOriginally posted by abhishekch View Post@social how your disk stopped squeesing mine is doing a lot.

). The sound is gone and the braking feels better.
Completed 4000k and changed the oil from Castrol Activ 4T to Power1 SS and there is some change in the characteristics of the bike. It feels much more smoother now (but don't expect the vibes to go away
)

Carb Settings...faced a starting problem first time in 1yr
HI Guys,
I tried to set the carburettor AF mixture this time. Well i go the AF screw roatated in clockwise direction. Neverthless to say.........the air mixture got richer, the stokes got slower i felt that the bike lost that punch that i was initially having. Took the bike to a local mechanic and then asked him to adjust the mixture.
Well what he did is that raised the RPM to 5k he rotated the screw in anti-clock mode and almost three complete rounds.....
After that the bike started feeling gruntier in sound itself and then he bought down the AF mixture to a stable point.
Well after that the bike regained the pickup. But but today when i started the bike it didnt got started in first kick. SO i have to gave a throttle but then its running OK now. But my bike never required throttle....is this due to cold or i need to adjust the mixture. Well i think there are no mis-firings or there are no hickups. Also vibrations are lees and the tacho needle is not dancing....so i guess this is a sign of an idle mixture.....
ANd last but not the least....how can i identify that the mixture is optimum ?
above sign that i have mentioned does that complies to gud idling or any thing else ?
Come one guys....experts need tips here..
Also Oil has been a lot of discussion here....got MOTUL SS 5100 1550 oil
Well all i can say is that gear shifts have become real smoother. THere is no doubt, i was facing a neutral problem while trying to make neutral the gears got stucked up a number of times which now is almost negligible. Just to confirm, i got the OIL change after 450kms after the service was done.
Well but please tell me about the mixture, the bike feels OK but if i make it reach does that harms the engine, well i dont think so because i have increased the misture and made it richer i feel a considerable hike in pickup...!
the vibs are negligible, the needle is running fine just had a starting problem today is this behaviour OK or i need to re-tune the AF mixture.....to be more precise make it a bit leaner or richer ?EVERY MORTAL IS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS OWN DESTINY

Check the carb
There you go again........Originally posted by pranav_salieri View Postmy bike engine shuts off automatically at certain speeds like 40 or 60
.this happens when i slow down from such a speed.is this due to cold weather or some othe problem....and vibes have become more in beyond the 45 kmh mark please tell me good soultion to reduce the vibes..its unbearable
!!!!bikes done 845 kms on odo
Does engine stops while keeping the clutch de-pressed ?
If yes then time to adjust the AF mixture. Well dont open ur carb first adjust it and check. If that works then ur lucky. But also make sure clean the air filter usually that is the culprit in such cases.
Finally always add a additive to avoid such situations. I have been using IFTEX from past 6 yrs.
That will avoid the adding up of carbon to ur engine and will make throttle response crisper....
try it dont rely on power speed or some hi-octane i use it even with such petrol let us know if that worksEVERY MORTAL IS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS OWN DESTINY

Well earlier my bike never started with a single kick. Renny suggested that my bike was running lean and hence I richened the mixture. That solved the problem. Maybe you are running slightly lean. Rotate the a/f screw by 1/4 of a turn (anti-clockwise) and see if you can start the bike with a single kick.Originally posted by blazing180 View PostWell after that the bike regained the pickup. And I've read in this forum, a slightly rich mixture is better than leaner mixture (Nothing beats optimal mix tough
)
And check the spark plug to get an idea about the mixture. It should be chocolate brown in colour ideally..कृपया यहाँ पर ज्ञान न बांटे

Checked already
Last time when i checked the plug, it was black which means the mixture was richer, so i got it a bit leaner, well i didnt felt any considerable drop in pickup but off course the vibrations came down which was gud. This time i am worried whether is it OK or not......i posted the symptoms after the tuning....do u think all those depict the mixture is OK if it is richer than i dont worry all i care is for engine health and th pickup should be as it, for which RTR is known.....thanks man ....well any more suggestions guys.....Originally posted by social View PostWell earlier my bike never started with a single kick. Back to square one
Met with a small accident today. Banged into another bike
Nothing major, just that something seems to be wrong with the front. Vibes have certainly gone up and the front disc is again rubbing against the disc pad
And the brakes squeal like pigs
Guess another hour will be wasted tomorrow at the ASC
