It's a good thing you edited your post, being ignorant AND offensive isn't going to help your case one bit.Originally posted by gixxer_junkie_m View PostWTF!! another BS post?!! And if you know what a plug's heat range is, you wouldn't be saying nonsense like a colder plug will result in a cooler running engine. You'll have every newbie here running out to get a cold plug so that they can make their rtr more comfortable! show me documented proof that a colder plug than stock can reduce an engine's temperature and i'll give you my bike. you'd have to measure coolant (which the rtr doesn't have), engine oil temp and EGT to be very sure.

I don't have the time or the inclination to explain things to you as to why and whom i learn't these things from.Try and google,ZEN TVS,V-twin fiero,Supercharger on a fiero etc.Originally posted by julianpaul View PostIt's a good thing you edited your post, being ignorant AND offensive isn't going to help your case one bit.

Zen, schmen, you may have built a rocketship and visited mars but that doesn't change the fact that a colder rated plug cannot just cool down an engine.Originally posted by gixxer_junkie_m View PostI don't have the time or the inclination to explain things to you as to why and whom i learn't these things from.Try and google,ZEN TVS,V-twin fiero,Supercharger on a fiero etc.
I don't have the time for a facebook style fight either, which is what mostly happens on this forum, so i'm outta here, with the warning to everyone not to just believe everything anyone may say; it doesn't cost them anything. Research yourself and learn facts before blindly bolting on cables and filters, hoping to improve the bike. TVS wasn't stupid to design the bike the way they did.

Has anyone changed/repaired the TCI or something related to ignition?
My hiccups are back even after an earlier carb cleaning, now engine rebuild (so not compression issue) etc. Now I'm doubting the TCI or ignition circuit. I've converted to full DC. The battery is quite healthy, still I'll change it this week and see. If that does not solve the issue, I'm wondering what I should do

Headlamp mods
Though I acquired my RTR180ABS only around 2 weeks ago, I cannot stop myself from thinking about the day I'll install an HID headlight or a Projector headlamp up front.
The only thing bugging me though, is whether it'll mess up with the other electricals because the bike has a stock DC setup. The salesman strictly advised me not to play with these things as it may screw up the ABS system.
I think that'll be sufficient, but I can't help worrying over this query
. Please guide me someone.

since rtr abs is full dc there will not be any problem in installing a 35 watt hid , also convert your pilot lamps to led ones .Originally posted by aamirjamal View PostThough I acquired my RTR180ABS only around 2 weeks ago, I cannot stop myself from thinking about the day I'll install an HID headlight or a Projector headlamp up front.

Someone (here or the RTR 160 thread) had the same hiccup problem even after cleaning & tuning the carb,he got the TCI replaced and he experienced no hiccups after that.I guess replacement of TCI should help. Also check the spark plug gap & spark plug cable, they might be at fault too.Mine had vanished after replacing spark plug!Originally posted by lijok View PostHas anyone changed/repaired the TCI or something related to ignition?

Spark plug is new, did not find any issues with any wires/cables on casual inspection. Its been there for a while... any idea how much the TCI costs? Let me search for that post too..

I myself lost track of how much money I've put into getting the bike ready for Leh... phew...
