Thats TPS, i.e., Throttle Positioning System. Though I appreciate that you shared your experience and it is a good thing for all of us , but yours was a particular case for faulty TPS. I mean, it isn't necessary that this problem arises only due to faulty TPS. First, one have to get the basic things checked and if the problem still persists, one can move on further and check the TPS, TCI etc.

    Thanks for your opinion people
Exactly Its not that one can't tune the carb himself, but once the settings get bad, it could ruin your bike's response, mileage and performance. Thats why I recommend not to play with the sensitive things and leave it for the experts

          • Hi Guys,
This is my first post on xBHP after being a silent follower for many months.
I've been closely watching this thread for quite some time since I was making up my mind regarding my second bike.

Finally took delivery of RTR 180 ABS last Saturday , thanks to all my fellow RTR owners contributing in this thread.

            A brief intro about myself.
I consider myself a beginner in biking and is enjoying each moment spent with my bikes.
I also owns an 8 months old CBZ Xtreme at my hometown(Calicut, Kerala) , which i gets to ride only during holidays and vacations .
I was thinking about getting a new companion for my daily use at my current place(Trivandrum, Kerala), mainly for daily office use.
After taking a test ride , I immediately fell for RTR and chose it as my new mate.

Booked the bike 2 weeks back and got it delivered last Saturday.

            Dealer : Anton TVS, Trivandrum.
            Price : 86,557 OTR

*Also got a white Vega helmet as festival offer.

I'm taking a little time to get adjusted to the menace, still enjoying each moment.
Initially had a plan to take her for a ride on some good roads yesterday, but dropped as it was raining continuously.

Odo reading so far is only about 45 kms.

I'm just loving the response, sound(lots of heads are turning my way ), sharp breaking and handling.

            • THE APACHE RTR 180 From stock to mod

Having been a biker since last 1 year , on the 4th of april i decided to buy the Apache RTR 180 the white angel.....it costed me rs 72k onroad in Punjab....and i was totally into adrenaline rush when i was on the ride back to home frm the show room.

It has been a fantastic bike right frm day one........drove it under 50 kmph till 1st service after that at around 900 kms i took it for a blast......checked its top speed and it ..resulted in 121 kmph.......but after tht speed i suspected that the low top speed is a result of the engine oil as my whole bike was stock......i changed it to castrol power 1 (semi s) nd then it went upto a good 126.

THe engine is super smooth and always rtr( ready to rip) ....it has a fantastic acceleration even at high gears....the braking has been totally impressive.....with double disc brake it feels like crusing above 100 even in cities.....

Some of the main issues i faced....was tht

              1.my leg guard broke
              2.The super slippery TVS Tyres
3.Unrefined engine response due to TVS tru4 premium oil...
4.The handle got loosened due to my stunting

As i m a biking freak i got the idea of k&n frm xbhp and installed it along with Splitfire ignition cables and Ngk iridium spark plug........i felt my bike bike more grunty....but soon it settled down and to rteduce the vibes iu used......Valvoline premium 20w50 .. AFter Installing k&n my bike tourched 132...but now i need some carb tuning...

I installed a 8000k HID with smt-led pilot lamps and changed the rear tyre to 120/80-17 and the front one to 90/90-17 both mrf zappers....

OVER ALL IT HAS BEEN AN IMPRESSIVE BIKE>>>>I WOULD SUGGEST ANYOEN BUYING A NEW 150> SEGMENT BIKE SHLD HAVE A TEST DRIVE OF IT....POSTING THE PICS TOO
              STUNTING IS IN MY DNA

Those in bold are indeed the best and almost unrivaled pros of the bike
The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.
