Apparently you have to familiar with these two to get it .
Next I'll approach the shop in person and try to plead these two guys(doubtful) .
In the meantime bhai Neel can you place orders (with the advance) with your mechanic or his shop for the 2 most vital Splendor/Splendor+ manuals - i) parts catalog and ii) workshop manual . I'll pay you twice the cost anytime you want . Just get it please .
Did you call them ? What is eligibility to get parts catalog ?

Please call them....if it possible to buy Part Catalog only ?

(If you able to buy any catalog from Bansal please add Passion/Passion Pro Spare part number catalog in your buying list.....my offer stand same as yours).

I think parts catalog is not need any special eligibility....but for workshop manual require some special eligibility(some certification)/company authorization as I read in somewhere for Honda CBR.

Anyhow, My mech only said for parts catalog & price catalog(which is common for retail business)....not workshop manual.

If I able procure anything from my mech with the help of his retailer friend, I will let you know and update here.....

How did the stator plate crack ?
Hope my problem solved, It costed 1980/-, The reason I got the whole plate coz by mech can't able to un-install the 4 Hole lighting Coil which mounted on that plate for past 11+ years.....mainly side Black plastic stuff/box like.....due to apply excessive force the side portion got cracked.....I said enough is enough.

When I took the mounting plate and all, Parts distributor said it comes as a complete set which incl the magnet bowel too.....called as magnet starter assembly....they don't sell the plate only (non movable portion)

    That' s it....

Sorry for the late reply......kinda suffering for catalog fever as you already see.

    Pinaki Jee already trying hard.

Thanks Sibun Bhai for your hard work to make part no online, here in kolkata weather is too much....can't imagine how in orissa. Thanks a lot for posting........mine is Nippon the exact same model which I'm replacing.

The horror story that they don't made the assembly for old passion now come to an end......to early to comment, for my bike at least 3 week needed to check if the battery is alright and the whole thing work or not.

You need a impact driver to loosen those screws.
Turn back a few pages and you will see that it is near impossible to unscrew it without the impact driver.(There are some exceptions)

He.he...I am also suffering some kind of fever.....I met Sibun yesterday ,saw joy's engine overhaul and did a test ride but "in my dream" when I was sleeping .
I wish that the dream was real/should become real .

      • Any spare-parts which are worth stocking up ?
My splendor is very dear to me and I cant afford to get cheap quality parts in the future.
Even a common consumable like air filter has become difficult to source(original filter).

          • Good to know that atleast a spare dealer found who sell spare part catlogue & shop manuals . If anyone of you found some contact or way to get catlogue , then do consider Karizma ZMR 2011 model spare catlogue . I need it . Will pay Cost + courier charges + any other .

Here most shops have Karizma ZMR before 2011 spare catlogue , but its difficult to get correct color code for 2011 ZMR , so that's why requirement .

            • @shoeb- I know what you are referring to but please wait for 3-4 days i will put up the pictures with description in each picture.
Presently i am busy with my official work. Temp here is hovering at 47 degree for last 4-5 days and my work demands riding for 150 km and working on-site. so by evening i am so tired that i do not use my PC for a complete week.
So please understand my problem and have some patience.
Regarding stator plate, you cannot remove the screw even with impact wrench because the plate is made of aluminum and screw of steel. Due to repeated heating and cooling the threads have seized and if opened by force will strip the threads. Instead the stator plate is heated in lathe the screws are opened.
There is no need to stock some spares as everything is available.
@harish- Servo is a good oil and most understated oil ever. But believe me it is of very good quality as it is manufactured by PSU and confirms to most standards. Presently there are oils for motorcycles but in year 2002 or before when there were no motorcycle oils we were using only servo, castrol CRB e.t.c with no problem.
@above all- color codes are not mentioned on spares catalouge but on service manual. In spares manual only part codes are given.

Sorry if I have disturbed/troubled/caused any inconvenience to you.
I can understand your problem because my father's work demands 250 km travelling every day and site temperature is 45+ but he works every alternate day.

Please take your time to upload,I can manage photos without description also .Add discrption as and when you find time. No hurry.

Believe me I have unscrewed all the stator &coil screws easily by using impact screw driver.
                I have used it on
                (Passion 2,15,00kms

As i have seen in spare manual of Karizma ZMR , parts numbers are mentioned , but for body parts with numbers some letters are there representing color code . You have to add that letter at end of part no to get correct color .

There is no such thing in shop manual . Atleast not in Karizma ZMR shop manual as i have it & there is no such things .

                  • Hello all! The Splendor is a wonderful bike. Mine is 12 years and 100k KM old now. Here is a brief review I wrote on TBHP sometime back:

I hope it is OK here to furnish a link from another forum!

                    • I read your review earlier. You have a very well maintained ........log book.

Why don't you do a full overhaul of the engine as your splendor has done 1,00,000kms ?(Estimated cost less than Rs.5000/-)
Even a new bore-piston will make the bike run like new and will solve oil burning issue.
Check out the posts by Sibun and Pinaki ji.

If you are interested to do a overhaul/need info then this is the best place.

Ha ha! Actually I am looking forward to read the experiences of people who have reconditioned the engines of their Splendor. I am rather wary of re-bore jobs after my Shogun experience.

If I decide not to recondition the Splendor, I have shortlisted the GS 150R / CB Twister.

I had re-bored my passion and it ran for 40,000 kms without any problem.
Still running strong and will run at-least for another 20,000 kms but I want to replace it as I am re-building my bike slowly as and when I find time.

Shogun is a two stroke and IMO two strokes don't take very well to re-boring jobs because they have ports in the cylinder.

Re-boring is very cheap but your bike will need a run-in of at-least 2500kms.
Re-boring and new oversize piston will cost max Rs.500

From what I have learned here and from some experience you will have to
                            replace All gaskets
                            replace Bore
                            replace piston and rings
                            replace timing chain
                            replace clutch plates,springs,pressure plates.
                            replace Crank bearings(Only if needed)
                            Replace valve guides.

De-carb the cylinder head, lap the valve seats.
Clean and inspect every part, replace if beyond service limit.

After this overhaul your bike will run for another 100k kms.

Please check out other posts by Sibun and Pinaki ji.

Yes , I did call them .. they are unwilling to sell the catalogs to individuals . They tried to refer me to the shop owner's private numbers . I feel it would be easier for a spare-parts reseller etc to get it . So please try your mechanic's channel . I shall try to coax them again when I can go there in person .. lets see .

It should be a rather painless job compared to a 2-stroke . I see the mechanics here routinely replace the bore for splendor/cd/passion/super-splendor with OEM kits by the street side and they do run nicely afterward . You have much much better mechanics in Chennai , should not be any problem at all .

The twister is not a good replacement for the splendor . It has 17" cast wheels only , no chain-cover , no rear carrier or grab rail to strap things on or hold , slippery OE tyres , not as good suspension , no way to fix a side-box(pannier) , poor quality frame and paint job (visible unfinished welds and painted parts loses paint cover and rusting easily) . Making it pretty useless for the grocery runs in rainy days on broken and muddy roads . Moreover it is unreasonably priced higher . The new Honda dream-yuga may be a better bet . It has 18" wheels with spoked wheel option , ability to fit side box etc , a real grab rod , covered chain etc etc and all this at a price very close to the current splendor+/pro . It's engine is the same as the twister's . It has to be admitted however that even today , Hero outdoes most other bikes in the market with paint, weld, parts, chrome and frame etc quality and fit and finish of the splendor .

I have to agree with that. Even today, the Splendor is the best package. After the GS 150R, somehow the Twister caught my attention, though I hate naked chains. But after reading you experiences, I am more inclined to replace an OEM engine kit for my Splendor and keep it for errands and leaving at the suburban station, even if I buy a bigger bike.

The bike is actually still reasonably peppy and returns 52 KMPL. My brother-in-law bought a Splendor with alloy wheels a couple of years ago for local use, and that is the mileage of his bike as well. But for the fact that mine burns oil while running and drips it when parked, I will leave it alone.
