Unless I'm mistaken, the specialty levers do two things.

            1. They 'fold' in an impact and helps prevent damaged/broken levers in a crash.
            2. They allow minute adjustment of the brake and clutch cables tension, allowing the rider to quickly adjust them to his preferences.

I'm not sure how they will improve handling though.

            • ^^ you're probably right in saying they wont improve the handling but i'm positive that they will improve the ride! i recently heard the 'krrr' noise at high rpms and searched if anyon else had the same issue and apparently few others had it and the obvious problem being the clutch lever vibrating harshly which produces that high pitch noise! in order to get this rectified, i think that rider had another washer placed and adjusted the clutch lever slightly.

p.s. i held the clutch at high rpms just to see if that was the case and viola! the vibration as well as the noise stopped!

FI version (same spec as the European Union ninjas)
Carbed ones are available in US (do not know of their availability in other countries)

Your bike may have stopped due to the reason that rpm was not set to the specified level, it must between 1250 - 1500 when idling. First start would be around 2k and then it settles down after few minutes to normal rpm levels.
