    So true.. completely agree...

But i do not think mileage is such a major issue in 250.. CBR might give you few KMs extra, but N250 is the leader..

And for the case of braking.. i read it somewhere that it has best brakes in the world.. even better than the litre class bikes..

    • you are probably right regarding the difference between both bikes (both feet down whilst sitting on each bike) being evident. Ninja can accommodate shorter riders than a cbr in terms of its length from seat-ground. I can't fully comment on the riding position as both felt very similar. (i'm little over 5'10)
thanks "therealabhinav" and I see in your display that your arms-shoulder are relaxed and the angle at elbow is pretty smooth - not straight and stiff.

i may be mistaken, but i think i read in a post that "trustvishwas" is over 6 Ft.

      • ^^ I am telling you, i know couple of 6ft ninja riders and they are very comfortable riding her! You won't have any problem whatsoever...but being over 6'4 can create problems!

p.s. Scroll back 3-4 pages and you'll see more pics of me and my ninja whilst riding! it should clear your doubts to some extent!

        • nice pics... it's definitely the riding posture I need to get used to - sit towards the tank with arms relaxed and clutch the tank with thigh(then angle at knee would have a super sporty feel). need to go once more to probiking

sit as far back as possible (it gives you more control and also reduces stress on the buttocks) and hug the tank with your thighs (again this aids in mass centralisation or something, basically i read it somewhere and it helped me greatly in taming my bike fully), doing so would automatically make you lean forward 'slightly' which eventually relaxes your arms (shoulders, elbows and wrists). Voila! You end up with a very comfortable riding posture.

p.s. i've done close to 10,000km on my baby and still sometimes i consciously have to tell myself to relax my arms (specially my wrists) and to sit as far back as possible because i tend to tense up!

very well put abhinav, it will be more about taming the bike than riding it in the initial few days.

something on distance from seat to handle bars - need to re-confirm this.

CBR - dang ! i wasn't adjusting at all, perfect posture.
Ninja - why was I shifting to n fro, trying to find the balance, so much?.

As I said, up up and awayyyyyy to probiking once more will give me the answer.

You read wrong. I am over 7 Ft.

My humble opinion is that for riders above 6 ft, both N250 & C250 are small. Your knees would be sticking out of fairing on both bikes. For your height, you would be better off with a bigger bike (provided your wallet/family confirms)

I feel that your instructions are not correct. If you sit as far back as possible, you end up leaning more and putting more pressure on wrists. It does not serve any purpose and in fact restricts your ability to control your bike in tight situations.

Buttocks have more fat than your wrists so there is no question of stress on buttocks.

Try this position couple of times and let me know(I am talking about position on a bike & not somewhere else) : Keep max.2-3 inch between tank and croch. Place complete weight on your backside without any of it being transferred to your wrists. Hold accelerator only in thumb and index finger. Keep only toes on footrest. Your sitting posture should be placing all body weight on backside and none on wrists.

Elbows need to be bent and not straight. All the riding jackets / suits are stitched in this way so actually straightening your elbow in a riding jacket is more difficult than keeping it bent.

I am not responsible for any mishaps if you try this - Easiest way to check whether you are sitting correctly is to take both hands off handlebars and see whether your sitting position changes automatically. If it does, you need to rectify.

Smaller parts are readily available but costlier parts need waiting.

It is one of the most tame bikes I have ever seen. There is absolutely no question of taming it. It is sold as beginner's bike or ladies bike abroad. However, we have grown up on a staple of 4 stroke 100 cc bikes so it is a major leap for us.

You have a run in period of 800+800 km where you should not exceed 4k & 6k rpm. Below 8k rpm, this bike is as docile as a house cat. Above 8k is something different but you would cross 8k only after riding 1600 km on it. So you would be used to riding it.

                  • I wanted to inform everyone about the response time of Bajaj (At least for Ninja owners)

Yesterday I registered a complaint about my ninja on [email protected] at 11.10 am. It was only couple of lines and not a mail raising hue and cry about some long pending issue.

I received a mail asking for further details at 11.44 am. I replied to it at 11.55.

I receive a call from customer service call centre at 12.02 pm asking to get something clarified.

My complaint no. was mailed AND SMSed to me at 12.06 pm.

I received a call from local service centre at 12.26 pm.

Update : received a call from senior officials from Bajaj Service today and scheduled a meeting.

Now this is some really fast response time.

(and before someone asks, NO I do not work for Bajaj or any of its dealers or allied companies)

No big deal actually. If you mail to customer service ID, they do not take it lightly. And Ninja owners get spl treatment as far as Bajaj PBK is concerned. In Delhi, Ninja owners have been asked to inform the service centre a day or two before of bringing in the bike for any complaint/service, if possible as a Sr. Service Executive from Bajaj (not the dealer) would be made available to attend to. few people in CBR 250 section in this Xbhp forum says that

Ninja 250 has 1. patetic braking and 2. it's not at all worth Rs3.0Lakhs 3. handling is not good than CBR 250,

what generally does ninja gives an average of ? i have a highway drive of say 60 km up/down

i don't believe this...as ninja has petal brakes and tubular chasis ....

                        please let me know this.

Becuase i am planning to buy a 250cc in OCT and i am a very happy R15 owner, as per it's perfomrance and handling..
can you please show me that post and who is saying these things about ninja in cbr 250r ownership thread. i haven't seen any comments there like this.

So true, that the was the first time I saw the baby ninja upclose, and first thought that ran through my mind was, is this all?. However, while I sat on it and saw all the meat between the seat and the console, fairing included, felt like a broad bike. (again, height of the bike is much less for a tall fella)

It is one of the most tame bikes I have ever seen. There is absolutely no question of taming it. It is sold as beginner's bike or ladies bike abroad. However, we have grown up on a staple of 4 stroke 100 cc bikes so it is a major leap for us.
Correct again, but as you know while we take the bike from our home before hitting highway, theres quite a bit of 2 way traffic as in MC/MG roads/Town streets much unlike foreign countries. Hence 100/150cc is starter for us and they consider 600cc as a starter (not refuting)

sorry for the OT : bro , IIRC this is the same guy that was trolling on the CBR thread saying that the CBR is slower in acceleration than the R15 and the R15 has better handling and more such things after supposedly "test riding" the CBR for 3kms ...

Yes Nand ! I am the same guy who posted that i didn't find CBR as a 250power . but here in Xbhp itself there was a thread speak speaks on under 100 kmph speed R15 was in better handling and at higher end Ninja was best.
R15 is lighter so . That was my review of teh bike but when i test rode Ninja it was awesome just in few 2kms of highway.
                                Why can't a person judge a bikes performance/speed/power in 3km.

                                Nand,
Ninja is far better than CBR in any expects...

I didn't critizied any CBR owner...but you all thought so...

and Yes R15 is better but NINJA is best in 250cc all over internationally...
                                So Ninja Rocks !!!!

If people can aford it 3.0lkhs for 250 then would buy it else CBR is an option.
But Ninja is passion and love.

which will make person buy it in any ways..
