And they said that the dealer will call me again
I said I am not interested to speak to the dealer again hence they informed that I'll get a call from the company itself..
Lets see where this ends...

Hey guys ,
I picked up my baby monster last evening and i'm loving every second on it ! I have a query . A friend and I went for a ride today on my monster and a busa . In a bid to try to keep up with him in traffic I unfortunately crossed the 4k rpm limit and went upto 8-9K rpm a few times! I wanted to know whether it would have already caused any damage to the vehicle or will nothing happen if i stick to the manual from today . I've done only a 100 kms till now .

I don't think it would have caused any major damage.. there are people I know who bought a Ninja and they don't even know what run-in means
If you are very concerned, get the oil change done after the first 200kms itself so that any debris in the engine will be removed right now instead of waiting for 1000kms.
My 2 Cents !
Lets wait for comments from other seniors too

But, few things came to my concern
1. I made gear changes at around 10K rpm but it some what showed unwillingness to go above speeds of 120KMPH, it felt something unusual as it blasted from 0-100KMPH like a rocket after that it showed some resistance
2. When I made a gear change around 12K, I heard some sounds like 'Kirrrr Kirrrr' some what like a keychain vibrating or some loose bolts but I didn't had any keychain that time just the key, felt it was coming from around instrument cluster
Had anyone faced similar issues ?
sadly these days nobody compares CBR 250 with Ninja ? esp when CBR is out in flesh. what happened guys ?

Excellent advice.
First 100 kms is crutial where your engine gets 80% seating (run-in).
You should not even run first 100 kms in one stretch.
There must be a 10 minits rest for every 20 minits drive (only for the first 100 kms) then at 100 or 200kms do an oil change with FILTER.
Then ride it as if you stole it.
But make sure you change oil and filter frequently.
I have changed the oil and filter 3 times by the time it hit 1000kms.
Other most important advice is NOT to maintain a constant RPM.
And allow as much as engine breaking.
The main intension is to remove the debries from recirculating and damaging the heart again.
So the more you rev. the more you should change O/F. (until you feel your baby has well enough learnt your driving style)
OR if you follow the exact method as in manual then you will too complaint soon (0-100 quick and then after that....) coz you might have a little underpowered engine.Last edited by SamArul; 05-21-2011, 11:49 PM.

2. You might want to get it check at the PBK , i did not face any kind of issue till now..
Will go out for short ride this morning and again have look into both the issues and will try to follow proper gear shifts and will go to PBK if that noise problem persists. Till then looking forward what others can input on this.
@SamArul : Does following the way mentioned in manual always yield in an under powered engine ? I kept under the rpm limits mentioned and always had rpm variations, just 2-3 times crossed the limits at max. Am I facing a problem of underpowered engine ?

Its very clear that they gave the bike to someone else which was promised for me.
I called up Customer care to find out what update PBK has given to Bajaj. And they say a different story here. They say that they ordered the bike just last week and there was delay from plant and also there was delay in
the loan approval from HDFC because of which they could not deliver the bike to me. Where as the loan approval was received on Tuesday itself.
Hope you get the kwacker soon. (Praying) I'm still waiting for you're kwacker so that we can complete our runins together. Remember?Last edited by thefastestindian; 05-22-2011, 05:25 AM.M800 - 2001 - 5787.Nano 2011 - 5086.Figo 2011 - 518.P220 - 2010 - 5995.CBR 250R - 2011 - 250.sigpic

Guys at probiking are very smart, They cook stories so fast that they get away even from the CC with an excuse. Unless you check with the CC and pbk and validate the reasons, you can't trust them at all. Had a similar experience when I had a crash on my P220 but CC took care of it.

I don't think they will delivery my bike before a couple of months more...
I remember our run-in plan
My plan was to complete the run-in before this summer ends so that the Kwacker will be ride for long rides by this monsoon
EDIT: So finally you changed your DP

nothing will happen in fact the ninja engine is a gem of a machine. you can exceed the RPM once in a while, like overtaking short burst etc. just carry on and enjoy your ride within the RPM specified. there will be absolutely no residue in the ninja oil which i have checked during my first change. infact there was hardly a colour change in the oil.
Thank you Sir,
I will check with the probiking fellows as to whether they can change the oil for me immediately .
To All ,
Should i change the oil brand or should i stick to the one the showroom fellows provide ?

And after 4K kms you can go in for Motul semi-synth.
P.S : Most of our seniors are using Motul oil and they too advised me the same and their machines are going really good.
