Talking of lights, my dim light has gone dum

. So i dont have the DRL anymore

. Would need a light and am evaluating the options.

Do you have more powerful lights for the NInja apart from the stock ones?
At speeds above 100, its a lil difficult to see in the night with the stock.
Any idea of projector lamps etal???

Currently the options seem to be
1) Stock ones ( i have no idea if they would have in stock. It took probiking more than weeks for a rear view mirror. So no idea as to how much time it would take a light to see the light!

2) Fiat Palio 12V 55W as suggested by Vishwas?

@Gurpreet Singh...is that HID kit costing you 4K

??? (the rear hugger costs that amount)

I was told the low beam bulb costs Rs. 600. Just called Prasanna (ninja service manager) and here is the shocker... the freaking bulb costs 2000 bucks.

I almost fell off my chair.

I'm going ahead with a regular philips bulb.

Now sit tight on your chair. One of pune ninja owners vrathor needed to replace bike's chain. It costs 7000 bucks (excluding sprockets). He also checked on ebay and other sites but all are quoting above 5000.

Trying to source a replacment locally. Will update later.

Lol. I read that. I wonder if PRS would stock the ninja spec chain and sprockets and if they are cheaper.

What is the life for these parts. Do they wear out by 30,000 kms?

My car uses Phillips X-Treme Power bulbs. They are easily available at most Car Decor shops. Costs around 550 I guess. I put them a long time back, don't remember correctly. According to many other forums, people prefer Xtreme Power to NighBreakers coz they(Phillips) are cheaper to buy, equally bright, yellower and run longer on an average.

No brother, I have been able to get the HID kit for 179.95 AUD (original price 399.95 AUD)

and rear hugger for 199.95 AUD + postage and handling charge of 60 AUD.

And mind you this is in Australian $ that is even expensive than US $, now USD is up but still AUD is more expensive.
PS: He will also send me a Relay for my LED tail light with integrated turn signals for free (costing 49 AUD)

But bro, where can you get a rear hugger for 4K?

when the DRL lamp is out ( dim light ) the other one is supposed to automatically function as DRL by default. how did you prevent that ?

Nope, in case of the default DRL going bust, the high beam does not function as DRL as default unless you switch the sockets.

thanks for putting me right. i wanted to switch the DRL, but it seems a cumbersome process to fit a toggle switch even from PBK service. still in 2 minds . personally i am for DRL as it has helped may times especially while overtaking. the only negative is at least 10 people point out / wave you for headlights every time you are out on a ride.

i remember the ninja mechanic here saying each bulb cost 900 bucks and he also mentioned that he can fix p220s bulb in ninja(dont know how far its true)

right now i am using osram bulbs which have whitish light(unlike the yellowish light of stock bulbs) and pretty much satisfied with them..

If you are too bothered, you can manually reach out under the dash and take out the black socket with your hand. Of course, you'd have to do this everyday if you think the pain is worth it.

There is an easy work around.
You need H7 Extension harness (Car Accessory Shop will have it).
Inline Cord Switch (Electrical Shop will have it).
Small Peice double sided tape (Stationary).

Open Fairing.

Remove plug from Lo-beam and connect to the extension H7 harness, and other side to the bulb.

Now cut the (-ve) wire in the extension harness and connect the inline cord switch.

Sitck it in a convinient place inside the black plastic lurching between fairings.

Done.

Notes :- I have suggested to cut the negetive terminal coz, if accidentally it got shot with frame - the light glows. This way avoiding risk of +ve shots.

And while overtaking you can use the Hi Beam switch in the handle bar and that works.

This way you can revert completely to stock if needed later.
