With no lambda sensor they wuld ve tuned the FI sytem at chennai - a hot place. coming north the temps are dropping. So may be FI is not doing its duty. Or may be it needs a cold plug.
Another cl500 owner in chandigarh was facing the same issue and he too initially felt it was because of the lambda sensor not being present. RE gave him a cold plug and the issue was resolved. Please try that out first.

Although it would be nice if RE gave us the sensor.

Didn't see your post earlier. Sorry, I have no knowledge of spark plugs. Just go to Royal Enfield 500 Classic 4100k Ownership Review - Team-BHP. The OP mentions somewhere towards the last few pages that the cold plugs resolved his plug-fouling & low mileage in low temps issue. You can PM him to find out what plug he used.

Edit: Its the last post on page 2, post #30

            Good to know that dude!
My clutch cable broke yesterday. Got it repalced.

ya got the up swept exhaust yesterday. the thump is too good. The thump is like CI. after 80kmpl its something different. Find a good mileage test. got around 30kmpl. 5 kms in the city and 15 outside the city. It consumed .7L. Have not changed the plugs yet.

                Update on tool kit !!

The complete tool kit was hand delivered to my residence by RE Sales Engineer along with a nice table calender ..

A good gesture and also apologies were asked as the tool kit was messed up for the initial lot of CL500s ..

I don't want the saree guard in the new CL 500 as it look bad with same color. Is there a option to change the during delivery or we have say this to delear before so that he should get the bike frm factory without the guard? I know its necessary for RTO registration if not wrong.

Or is the supporter (left hand side) available after purchase and we can change it ? Please suggest as i saw many ppl in India without saree guard in CL 500.

Inform your dealer you want to have the saree guard removed before you make full payment. They will take your bike to the RTO to get it registered with the guard, then bring it back to the showroom and replace the supporter (its called a 'stay') with the non-saree guard version. You will have to pay them for this as you are purchasing the replacement stay + labour (if any).

The same applies to the upswept exhaust.

                      Thanks a lot.

Any idea how much it costs?

                        No clue, sorry.

The stay itself shouldn't be more than a couple hundred bucks, but since the dealer is fitting it for you it is likely they will overcharge you for it (possibly in the name of labour). I think I read somewhere on this forum that someone was charged 1500 bucks for replacing the stay, but I'm not certain.

                            Hey Prabhu,
I have also changed the exhaust yesterday, but it doesn't sound the same as like the other 500 that is displayed in the showroom which is like BLAST.
I have also noticed some backfiring (like a PHAT sound) coming out of it after every 3-4 kilometers. Do we need to do any setting in EFI like we do in carbs after changing exaust?
