atlest my engine runs cool as compared to pulsar150,
maybe your friends bike is set on lean mixture which makes it hot.
tell him to get it tested as it will harm the engine.

    • Just wanted to share this with everyone.. be sure that the engine oil you are using is 20w50 for this bike. After 1st service, my bike started behaving strangely.. refusing to pickup quickly.. making too much noise etc.. Then I suspected wrong grade oil..(Coz, that mechanic poured oil from a big shell container.. which I think is not of correct grade for my bike, probably bigger pulsars run on 20w40?? ) and got it changed to Castrol gtx 20w50.. which costs 230/ltr. Now it's smooth again.. gear shift is back to normal.. and I'm happy. So friends, just be sure about engine oil or better buy it on your own. Mechanics in the service centre doesn't seem to know a great deal on this topic.

Dude, I Think Castrol gtx is for cars. Never use the car oil in a 4S motorcycle. Stick to the Bike oil with the same rating 20W50.

        • Guy's... got my baby yesterday.. Cherry Red..

          Will post the pics soon...

Gear shifting is smooth, good acceleration...

Tak - tak - tak sound comes while braking when at above 30 kmph...

Also, when i start my bike the RPM is 1.5k (idle) and after +/- 10 km of running the RPM gradually goes up to 2k, I dont know why this happening..?

Castrol GTX is for cars. If you use it in bikes then it will cause clutch slippage as car's oil contains additional friction reducing additives. Change it after some 500kms-1000kms as you have poured it for a cost. In bigger Pulsars 20W50 is the same grade used.

            Congrats.
Tak-Tak sound comes from front brakes, it's normal. The bike is new so, it will have varying RPM anywhere between 1K-2K(or above.). It is normal and will get sorted out after 1st service.

            • ^^get your rear break checked, i had to visit svc 3 times befor they wer able to fix it compltly.
and for the rpm issue when you start the bike there is verry less lubrication when parts are lubricated properly slight rpm increase is normal but if there is if it goes to 3-4 thousand rpm dance on head of svc guys to fix your autochoke.

For newer bike RPM is always varying between 1K-2K, it is not et all a problem. It happens with every bike.

but it was not the case with any of the bikes which i owned, my friends/relatives own.

can you tell me why is it so?
i cant find a reason for this my bike initially had this problem i took it to svc and they said auto choke is not functioning properly. but then they said they checked it for proper functioning.

For a newer bike varying RPM is suggested so that the engine's internals get accustomed to each and every RPM and thus smoother power delivery throughout the range of RPM upto redline.

but how can company set a varying rpm for initial period?
i think its mainly because of bad tuned carb.

it happened on my P220 too but in my case the rpm used to rise to 2.5k rpm exactly every time , surprisingly it happened after my first servicing .

Just change the idle rpm to little over 1k it should solve the problem ( it solved mine )

See for a newer bike, It is not recommened to keep it on a constant RPM whether it is on idle or not., so, if the bike is at IDLE then it's RPM automatically varies. It is like that only from company. Call it a bad tuned carb. or anything.

                          • Thanks for the info guys...

I will soon complete the KM's required for 1st Servicing, will get all the Issues solved..

Someone took up this Issue of Bike getting overheated... I too think, cause even after running of 20 kms under 4k of RPM, I can feel the heat in my legs.

Now the question is: Have the svc guys put wrong grade of Oil (stock oil) , or this is normal with a new P135.

And keeping this baby under 45 kmph / 4k RMP is a huge task.. at-least for me..

Anew bike heats up more, as it has newer parts and hence greater friction between them which generates more heat. It's normal for a new bike.

new bikes heat more rapidly because of the new parts, it will be ok after about 1000kms but if it is burning your legs get it checked maybe set towards to much lean mixture.

kick the svc guys butt , get it replaced. it may harm your engine.

yes it not an easy task to keep it under 4k rpm, hands starts itching to get her to top speed.
these all things must be sorted out as soon as possible
