yes he had a valid licence...the police asked for it and checked it...we dint file complaint and told the police we would sort it out.... the kid's bike was totaled so i dint ask for money, he was spooked as it is...By gods grace we escaped unhurt even though the impact was tremendous...Originally posted by cmahajan View PostDid the kid have a valid driver's license? It's a crime to ride a non-registered vehicle. If I were in your shoes, I would contact that kid's parents and ask for the money spent on repairing the damages. Also, I would advise the kid's parents not to allow him to ride the scooter until he has a valid license and is old enough to understand the dangers on the road.
Just imagine if it would have been a truck / car instead of you. That could have been the kid's last day on earth!
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

Good to know that no one was hurtOriginally posted by BikerKid View Postyes me and my pillion is fine...chill's me knowing that there are many such people on road not concerned about their own safety or others..
We need to develop skills to save ourselves even if someone else is making a mistake on the road...I know it's not always possible...but to stay alert at all times is a good habit to have...Signals which are timed for 50 Kmph are also timed for 100 Kmph :)

Guys, our baby doesnt seems to be a long termer......
One year has passed and now the tacho needle vibrates, key dome has started vibrating and to top of it all now even the LCD is also vibrating like hell....
Moving UP and DOWN.....:-(
Also sometimes on rocky terrain some voices like somethings getting hit from inside at the rear portion comes but still not able to rectify it.

Guys, My pulsar 135 refuses to go beyond 60 KMPH. initially i didnt know whats happening but now it feels like accelerating the bike with the brakes applied. I felt this only when i drove down a slope. Even down the slope the bike struggles to reach 60 KMPH. If the problem is with the fuel and air mixture, then why should it struggle to reach that speed even down the slope. The RPM shows 5k but the speed is just 60 in 5th gear. I dunno if this is normal. I am afraid I would start hating this bike, because I always lose with other bikes (even splendor and TVS victor) at signals. Am very worried. My friends suggested posting this problem here in xbhp. I am not sound in bike mechanics or techniques so am not sure of this RPM to Speed ratio. Please some one shed some light on this.
My Pulsar 135 is just 1100 KMS old.sigpic

I am really fed up with these SVC guys. They simply NOD to whatever I say and also they show an expression of listening but nothing improves post delivery. I shouted @ them after I took the delivery. I did the 1st service @ 750 Kms. Since the bike was in runin I didnt exceed 45 KMPH. After reaching 1000 KMs Odo, I thought of following the Owners manual instruction for Runin which says 62 KMPH max at 5th gear. Thats when i felt this problem. I took it to the service guys again, they took it in for the job, delivered to me but still the problem exists. I went back to them, but they say will get better after 2000 Kms. Its when i shouted at them. Atleast If you guys could give me an idea about the possible reasons, I could collect them and go to a different SVC and ask them to have a look at the reasons U guys give. Thats why i came here for help.Originally posted by Digital_shubhi View Post^^^ Why didn't you take it to your nearest SVC to get it checked?sigpic

@srida: huh !
everything is perfectly normal with your bike man ! this bike does 60kmph at 5k rpm easily...how will you attain higher speeds if you dont revv harder ?
in short..there is no problem with your bike...stop fretting...you must have been suggested and have been following the running-in for the 1st 2000kms of your bike...maintaining less than 60kmph,and 5k rpm...good for the bike...
but if you want to get rid of your 'problem'
rev the bike higher on 5th gear and see the change...feel the difference....
5k-60kmph
8k-100kmph
10.5/6k-135kmph(i did achieve that!)A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels,scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)

Well if rev harder the bike roars very badly and feels more stressed. may be my intuition. Anyways Those words were really soothing NLN Thank U. I will wait till 2000 KMS and then see what happens. Anyway I will try to go past 5K tomorrow only once and let u guys know about the situation. BTW... This thread is awesome. At 4 AM I get 2 replies, I really never expected this kinda support for the fellow 4-valvian. I really thought my post would go unanswered for a long time. Thanks very much guys.Originally posted by nin View Post@srida: huh !

My Pulsar 135 is just 1100 KMS old.
Since your bike has completed 1100 Kms.. you can now start to accelerate beyond 5,000 RPM.. do so in small incremental steps and over small distances.
The real fun of the 4 valves per cylinder on the Pulsar 135LS lies after you cross 5,000 RPM.
There are slight vibrations around the 6000-7000 RPM mark due to which you might get the stressed feeling.. but once you cross that RPM range the engine of the Pulsar 135LS regains its smoothness and feels much better than even its bigger brothers at high RPM.Originally posted by srida View PostWell if rev harder the bike roars very badly and feels more stressed. may be my intuition.
You don't need to wait that long.. you can start giving bursts of speed in small incremantal steps.Originally posted by srida View PostI will wait till 2000 KMS and then see what happens. Anyway I will try to go past 5K tomorrow only once and let u guys know about the situation.

Please ride safe and always wear protective gear.. Speed can be additive, but please be very very careful.Originally posted by srida View PostAnd for those speeds they are amazing, Man I cant wait to take my pulsar to those speeds.

that was just another modification done by the indonesians there...Originally posted by Prabhakar150 View PostIs that true? The last pulsar in that website is not p200. It is some other manufacturer's copy of pulsar n apache.
its not because its India....its because the 75% of people you are talking about are not aware. BUT as long as the other 25% people are concerned including me...we should make it a point to make the other 75% aware of this for making this a better place to live inOriginally posted by cscsarkar331 View Postbrother this is INDIA,here still now over 75% people have no idea of road manner,respect is in an all together different level.Hope that you are fine.the same thing happened to me also but it was not any kid but BMTC bus itself..so take care of yourself..
now that everyone is fine back here...well satisfied with their ride can i get to know anything more surprising...any good news ?
EDIT: @srida: payeng already told you what all i wanted to tell you..welcome to xbhp and ride safe
@payeng: thanks

Oops ! Even at 300 Kms I took my bike to 105 KMPH Once and 85 KMPH once but for a very short distance. I believe this short burst wud not have made any damage but then the feel was really good in contrast to the present feel.Originally posted by payeng View PostSince your bike has completed 1100 Kms.. you can now start to accelerate beyond 5,000 RPM.. do so in small incremental steps and over small distances.
My bike starts giving slight vibration bit early, ie at 58 KMPH. I dont know when the vibration vanishes after that.Originally posted by payeng View PostThere are slight vibrations around the 6000-7000 RPM mark due to which you might get the stressed feeling.. but once you cross that RPM range the engine of the Pulsar 135LS regains its smoothness and feels much better than even its bigger brothers at high RPM.
Thanks for ur advice payeng. I would try to do these speeds only on highways and only when I see the road clear for a quite distance. Otherwise my max speed would be only 60 - 70 which gives both FUN in safezone.Originally posted by payeng View PostPlease ride safe and always wear protective gear..
